Tell Him I'm Not Mad
Padfoot wined. The world kept going black then normal then black. He lay his throbbing head down, to tired to move or do anything.
I'm sorry, Remus.
Day's had passed. Or was it months? Or years? He was really bad at time keeping, but eventually Padfoot lifted his head, He was in a pile of mud was the first thing he saw. What a weird setting for Hell. He thought, before he looked up seeing the big Azkaban building beside him. He was alive? Padfoot barked as if testing it. He could feel the mud beneath his paws. Wet and cold.
Without thinking he transformed back into Sirius, images of Barty's scared face playing gin his mind.
"BARTY FUCKING CROUCH I'M ALIVE!!" Sirius called, to over whelmed with excitement to notice the dementors who instantly swopped for him. Transforming back into Padfoot he ran into the trees dementors spreading out across the forest in search, as he ran he could swear he heard a voice yelling, "HOLY SHIT!? WHAT THE FUCK!? HOW!?"
If Padfoot could smile, he would. As he weaved in and out of trees and bushes only to come to a screeching halt when he found himself face to face (or he assumed face to face) with a dementor.
Padfoot froze and considered turning back to run but when he turned he noticed another dementor closing him in. Padfoot stood in the middle not sure what to do or where to run, just as he was going to give up, the dementors passed over him both turning in different directions.
They can't find me if I'm Padfoot!
Padfoot kept running, he passed many more dementors who payed him no second mind.
Day's had passed. Or was it months? Or years? He didn't care he just kept running for miles. He made it to a small village after sometime.
Padfoot strolled on in tail high and wagging. Happy. He was free!
He wanted to scream, to dance.
"Look at me!" He wanted to say, "Look I'm free! Look Remus! I'm free!"
That was until he saw the posters, one on almost every wall. It was him, screaming and angry. They were wanted posters. Padfoot trotted up to one, in his delighted, floating state his first thought was "I have! I've seen that Wizard!" before he realised that they were everywhere. And he looked mad. Crazy, screaming at the camera, screaming his innocence. Of course they didn't know that.
Has Remus seen these? Does he think I'm mad. I'm not mad. Remus I'm not mad. Please Remus, I'm not mad.
This was a magical town. Where was it? If he knew where it was maybe he could. Where? Where was he gonna go? Back tot he flat? That's the first place they'd look.
Hogwarts? Hogwarts! Hogwarts! He could go to Hogwarts and convince Harry he was innocent, if he was as famous as Barty said, then he could convince everyone else to let him go free!
It was the perfect plan.
Padfoot froze.
The boy locked eyes with him and the dog couldn't stop his franticly wagging tail. He wanted to run and hug him and lick his face. James! It was James! James, with his trunk ready for Hogwarts and-
James is dead.
The eyes.
Lily's eyes.
It was Harry.
His heart stopped. Harry? Harry! His Harry! His godson. He had to say hi he had to go be with Harry and -
A large purple bus came hooting out of nowhere, it blocked his view, keeping Harry from him. Padfoot growled before his human thoughts broke through, "You can't just run at Harry, he doesn't remember you, doesn't know you were the first one - that wasn't his parents - to hold him at birth.
Harry was going to Hogwarts. Padfoot was going to Hogwarts. They would meet at Hogwarts.
Day's had passed. or was it months? Or years? But finally the tall stone Hogwarts building was in his sights. Padfoot ran the rest of the way. He passed posters with his face but didn't care he was going home, he was going to Harry. He hoped Remus didn't think he was mad.
