Chapter 4
It's a few hours after regulus had fell asleep and he had just woken up as much as he didn't want to get up he knew that everyone would start to worrie if he was in his room for much longer so he got up and got dressed again into his clothes.
He wasn't sure what was going to happen when he walked down the stairs but he was sure that at least I wouldn't kill him. He walked down the stairs and was meet with euphemia sitting on the couch. She looked up from the book that she was reading and smiled asking him how he was feeling.
"Oh hello there regulus how are you feeling"
"I'm feeling better thank you"
"That's good to hear the boy are out in the back garden"
"Thanks"
Euphemia smiled at him as he walked away towards the back garden. As he walked through the door he saw sirius and james flying around above him and remus and Peter up against the wall talking. As he walked out remus saw him and told him to come over and sit with him and Peter.
"Monty said you weren't feeling well"
"Oh umm yeah just didn't feel great"
"Feeling better then"
"Yeah"
Remus smiled at regulus and then the three of them started talking about a book that remus was reading and that regulus had read before the book was a kind of murder mystery book and bothered the boy had said that they enjoyed it.
Regulus enjoyed having someone to talk to about this sort of stuff. Barty and evan weren't really into reading and regulus didn't really have very many other friends. So it was nice to have someone to talk to this stuff about regulus did really enjoy reading.
They talked about this for awhile and then started to talk about school as both remus and regulus were very smart when it came to school and Peter wasn't too bad but wasn't as smart as remus.
"It's not that hard Peter"
"That's easy for you to say your a genius"
"Oh come on Pete your smart too"
"I bet you regulus could do better than I can at this and he is a year below us"
"I mean your not wrong he is smart"
"I mean I wouldn't say I'm smarter than you though"
"Please regulus don't even try we both know that you and remus are masterminds"
Regulus smiled he enjoyed this it was nice to talk to people outside of his house and his year. Regulus enjoyed listening to Peter and remus go back and forth about how they think that regulus would be better than Peter at certain things and what subject they think he would be better at. Regulus laughed at how stupid he thought this was regulus thought peter was certainly better than him because I mean he was the year above him he had been at school for longer so clearly he was better.
They had been talking about that for awhile and then moved on to who the thought was smarter out of him and sirius. Remus thought that regulus would be smarter but Peter said that sirius would be.
But to be fair it really just depends on what subject it is some subjects regulus knew he was better at but some he thought sirius was probably better at.Just as they discussed this the two boys who were flying around the pitch had walked over to the three boys.
"What are we talking about" sirius said smiling
"We were talking about how much better we think regulus' hair is compared to yours" remus said jokingly.
"Well there us clearly only one right answer to that" sirius said
"Yes me and Peter decided that we thought that regulus hair was clearly better than yours" remus said trying not to laugh
Sirius looked at remus offended which is when Peter and james bursted out laughing at how dramatic they thought sirius was.
"I'm joking pads" remus said laughing
"Well you better be" sirius said annoyed
Remus Peter and james laughed at how dramatic sirius was. They were still laughing when sirius got annoyed and told then to stop. Regulus thought that it was funny but didn't laugh.
"Why do you all like him better than me" sirius said sounding more annoyed.
"Well padfoot he is clearly just better" Peter said slightly laughing.
"Rude" sirius said as he playfully smack the back of Peter head.
"Ok calm down pads were joking we obviously love you"
"You better"
And with that they all started to laugh at each other. Regulus felt a little out of place he felt as if he was interrupting something. So he got up while they were all still laughing and walked back into the house and walked up to his room again.

As regulus had got up to his room he closed the door and went and sat on the chair for his desk. Not even 5 minutes later he hears a knock at the door and as much as he doesn't want to open it he walks over to open the door.
He walks over opens the door and sees sirius standing outside. Without saying anything he moves aside and let's sirius into the room and the closes the door and turns back around to sirius.
"Hey"
"Hi"
"Monty said you weren't feeling well earlier"
"Yeah"
"Are you alright"
"I'm fine"
"Ok..."
They both sat there in silence neither of them knowing what to say to each other. They sat in silence for a few minutes when sirius the started to talk again.
"I was talking to james yesterday after dinner"
And there it was the thing that regulus really didn't want to talk about. He just sat there and nodded at sirius.
"And he said that he was talking to you"
"Uhu"
"And he told me about what you two were talking about"
"Ok"
"Reg I..... I want you to know that I do still love you"
"I never said that you didn't"
"Yes I know that but just because I left and you didn't doesn't mean I don't want to be your brother anymore"
"Ok"
"Reg I'm really sorry if I made you feel like that but your gonna need to work with me here"
"What do you mean"
"Talk to me tell me what made you feel like this"
"My whole life you've always protected me from our parents"
"Yeah"
"When ever they were about to do something to me you always did something worse so they would hurt you and not me"
Sirius said nothing to that but just nodded in acknowledgement.
"The only thing that I ever did for you was make you leave last Christmas and i just thought that james has done so much more..."
"Reg listen I don't know if you have memory loss or just chose not to acknowledge it but you were the one who made sure I didn't die" sirius said "I mean I know it was hard and I know you don't like to admit it but what you did will always make me more grateful to you than I ever will be to anyone else"
"But...."
"I mean yes euphemia and the other boys will always be a very close second but you are the only reason I made it out of that house alive" sirus said smiling at regulus "I mean sure james helped me after I hot out but you begged our parents to stop even if it ment they hurt you too" "You were the one who was there for me when I most needed it so yes regulus james remus Peter and james' parents did do so much for me and I'm so great for it but you are the reason i get to enjoy my life now you are the reason I had to keep living"
Without even releasing it there was tears running down Regulus' face as he smiled at his brother who also had tears running down his face.
"No matter what happens I will always be grateful for you reg I love you"
"I love you too sirius"
And with that the two boys hugged each other and cried in each other's arms. Regulus can't remember when the last time someone hugged him was but he wasn't thinking too much because all he cared about is that his brother loved him and that he was happy.
They laid down together on regulus' bed and hugged each other as if they would disappear if they let go. Regulus was happy which hasn't happened in a long time he was genuinely happy. As long as sirius was with him regulus knew he would be happy because he loved his brother and now he knew that his brother loved him too.
The two boy laid in regulus's bed in silence and just laid in each other's arms. Regulus was happy to me there and wad happy his had his brother back.
Not too long later sirius looked down at regulus and he had fell asleep he smiled at his little brother and kissed him on the head before closing his own eyes and he too soon fell asleep.

About an hour or two after sirius and regulus fell asleep there was a knock at regulus's door. Regulus and sirius had both woken up from the knocking and sirius got up to go answer the door. He opened the door and regulus looked past him and saw james standing there.
"Hi james did you need something"
"Oh ummm hi yeah I was just wondering if you two were ok"
"Yeah we're fine"
"Ok that's good ummm mum also wants to know if you want any lunch"
"Ummm"
Sirius turned around to regulus who shook his head at the question.
"Yeah sure ill have some"
"And regulus?"
"no he's not really hungry"
"Ok well the food is out on the table"
"Ok I'll be there in a minute"
"Ok"
And with that james walk away back down the stairs and sirius closed the door and turned around back to regulus who was sitting on the bed looking at him.
"So you sure you don't want lunch"
"Ummm yeah I'm not really hungry"
"Ok I can get you some food and put it in a box for later if you want"
"No it's ok"
"You sure?"
"Yeah"
"Ok then"
Then sirius walked over to the bed and sat down beside regulus and sat there for a minute.
"So you lied to me then"
"What" regulus asked confused.
"Last year at the start if Christmas"
"I don't know what your on about"
"You know when you stopped eating and then you told me you were better"
"I don't know what you mean"
"Regulus you said you felt sick from something you ate but euphemia was still cooking when me and james came inside this morning and remus said you hadn't eaten anything"
"I just wasn't feeling well"
"Ok even if it was true you haven't eaten anything since yesterday and I saw that you hardly even ate your dinner anyway"
"I just wasn't hungry"
"Ok but you still haven't eaten anything since yesterday"
Regulus didn't know what to say he knew that sirius was right but he didn't know what to say to him.
"Are you ok reg" sirius asked worried
"I'm fine"
"Don't lie to me reg"
"I'm not"
Sirius knew that no matter how hard he tried regulus wasn't going to tell him anything else and as much as he wanted to talk to regulus so that he could help him he didn't want to upset him so he just left it and asked him about his day.
"How has your first day been"
"It's been nice Peter and remus are nice"
"But not james?"
"Do you really want me to answer that"
"Not really"
"Remus is really nice though"
"You think so"
"Yeah"
"So you like him?"
"Yeah I guess he's alright"
"Well that's grate I'm glad"
"I'm happy for you sirius"
"Thanks reg"
"Well I better go downstairs before effie thinks I got lost"
"Ok"
And with that sirius got up from where he was sitting next to regulus and he walked over to the door and just as he opened it he stopped and turned back around to regulus.
"You know I love you and you can tell me anything right"
"Yeah" regulus said smiling at him
"Ok" sirius said smiling back
Then sirius turned back around to the door walked out and closed the door behind him. Regulus was happy that he and sirius were happy again but the one thing that regulus knew he wasn't ready to talk about was the one thing that sirius wanted to.
Regulus knew that sirius just wanted to help him he always does but this one thing is the one thing that regulus isn't ready to talk to him about he isn't sure when he will be but what he does know is that when he is ready to talk sirius will be there for him and listen to him about anything that he had to say and that is what makes regulus smile.
