Draco and Hermione have somehow managed to get past their differences. The problem they had now was well Hermione didn't care about her looks. Not like he cared about his. He knew he was the most fortunate one in the school and well she was less fortunate. She needed a makeover, and he was gonna give her one. But how was he gonna convince her? He watched as she just lounged on the couch reading her books. She cares way too much about school. He does too of course but not like her. She just ives and breathes school. He at least cares about other things like his looks.
He decides to just go for it, "Do you ever oh I don't know think about putting effort into your looks? You were so pretty at the yule ball all dressed up with the way you styled your hair. Why don't you do something you know? Just to tame it a bit." He probably sounds a bit mean but he isn't trying to be but of course Hermione gets upset.
Hermione angrily responds, "So what I'm only pretty when I dress up?"
Draco realizes he messed up his wording a bit, and tries to better explain, "No that's not- I mean- Look your hair its just really frizzy and you put it up half the time anyway right?"
Hermione replies, "yeah so?"
Draco continues on, "And that's probably because its too frizzy or in your face right?"
Hermione realizes where he's going with this, "yeah it can get frustrating."
Draco explains further, "so it might be helpful to tame it a bit right? You can keep the curls there fine, but you should at least try out some products. I'll take you to a store in hogsmeade this weekend."
Hermione is a bit surprised now. She wasn't expecting him to want to help her, "You really wanna help me?"
Draco replies giddy, "yeah now that we're friends you know, I've decided to make you my new project."
Hermione is confused but tells him, "you really don't have to do that."
Draco happily carries on, "I know, but I want to."
Hermione is unsure why he cares so much, but she doesn't reject his help. She's finally getting along with the ferret, so she's not pushing it.
Draco is happy that she seems to be ok with it. It's gonna be tough, but he's determined to succeed with this makeover too. He's gonna show her that she can be popular like him. Not just cause she's apart of the golden trio but because she's pretty. With an assist from him, she will be who she'll be, better than ever instead of dreary who she were, well are.
He pulls a book off of a shelf and finds some historical popular figures. He hopes he can get her to understand a bit, "celebrated heads of state or especially good communicators, did they have brains or knowledge?"
Hermione tries to tell him something but he interjects, "Don't make me laugh."
Hermione looks at book realizing he is in fact talking about quidditch stars just responds back, "popular."
Draco is happy she knows what he means so he excitedly screams, "Right! It's all about popular! Its not about aptitude, its the way your viewed, so its very shrewd to be very very popular like me!"
Hermione doesn't even interject to remind him that he's more hated than he used to be because he just looks too happy. She decides to go to bed instead, "I'm going to bed Draco good night."
Draco is upset they don't talk more, but he knows they have plans on Saturday, so its ok!

Saturday
Draco and Hermione walk to the hair shop after getting away from their friends for some morning shopping and lunch. They don't have much time left in hogsmeade but their just going to one store, so it should be fine. Draco leads the way through the shop finally finding what he is looking for, sleakeasys. He grabs a few bottles and checks out. Hermione looks at him a bit surprised, "You didn't have to pay you know."
Draco fights back, "I know but I'm rich so it's ok." He takes her to a few more stores buying her some clothes and shoes. He's gonna teach her what shoes to wear, how to fix her hair, everything it takes to be popular. They have an awfully long way to go but they will get there. They head back to the school and go to their shared common room. He drops off the stuff and they go eat dinner.
After dinner, while Hermione goes to shower, Draco goes to get Pansy. No one will be more helpful with hair than her. He thought about doing it himself but she knows more when it comes to hair. He brings in Pansy a bit against her will but she comes nevertheless, because anything for Draco. They knock on Hermione's door.
Hermione isn't expecting anyone so she's startled when she opens the door. She's more surprised because pansy is there. She asks, "What is going on?"
Draco tells her, "I've brought pansy to help with your hair. If we do it tonight you won't have much to do in the morning."
Pansy styles her hair keeping the curls, and it looks beautiful. Hermione looks amazing and everyone compliments her the next day.
"Why Hermione you look beautiful" Pansy says like it wasn't her who helped.
Draco just looks at Hermione and says, "You're welcome!"
She may protest her disinterest but she'll grin and bear it. Her newfound popularity. She'll be popular just not as popular as me!
