Chapter 3

So apparently nobody has ever gotten sorted into two different Houses at the same time let alone two Houses so completely different from each other. After the shock, the Headmaster had us all go to the Great Hall for lunch. Leaving his office felt like a betrayal; his office protected me from questions or stares from others. Now going down the long stairway towards the closed door I could hear the whispers from the other students in front of me. Some even glanced behind to stare at me like I would push them all down.

When we all made it back to the entrance hall only 3 of the students left, them being the two Hufflepuffs and the male Ravenclaw. I would've left but I didn't know my way around and was hoping that maybe I could convince someone to help me.

"So you still think I'm a 'false Black'?" The boy who I kept thinking was crazy or delusional was the only one to speak to me, I could hear a little bit of an accent, maybe French. It wouldn't be weird if this boy was Raina but it is hard for me to grasp in such a short moment.

"No, it's just you're different from what I can remember. I shouldn't be surprised, you and Siri were always insisting on being called other names."  I gave Regulus the gentlest smile I could muster after blatantly disrespecting him to his face.

"Siri?Reggie? Oh, this is so good." A girl I believe her name is Dorcas laughed, her smile making dimples on her face. Her hair was in braids that had little golden bands in some of them, the braid tied up in a ponytail.

"You heard me call him that multiple times and vice versa!" Regulus' cheeks tinted a pinkish hue from the teasing. He never was good at being teased, me and Siri made it a game at one point.

"But it's still funny! Anyways I'm Dorcas Meadowes Prefect Girl for Slytherins, it nice to meet you, Ashley." With the sudden attention on me, my face grew a pinkish hue as well. I could see that she wasn't just being nice or faking at least. Her smile was genuine and her posture didn't hold any tension in it.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you." A cow came from the only Ravenclaw girl, her blonde hair in twists that were in ponytails. Little jewelry pieces were scattered around her hair, held in by string. Her uniform was similar to everyone else but I could chase gleams of metals around her waist, probably something similar to mine.

"Oh you're so cute, we're going to be friends!. I'm Pandora Rosier, you'll meet my brother Evan soon if you hang around Reggie. He's one of Reggie's boyfriends." Pandora seems nice, not at all scared of my reputation, I don't think she even realizes how I am.

"I think a few introductions are in order, especially if we're going to be your Prefects for the term.  I'm Lily Evans, Prefect Girl for Gryffindors." A girl with red auburn hair that flowed down her back, eyes green as the brightest forest, and freckles littering the bridge of her nose held out a hand to me. I was told after my 16th birthday to never touch anyone for they could be my soulmate; every one after their 16th birthday receives a mark that both you and your soulmate have together. I was always discouraged from finding my soulmates simply because I was going to be married anyway so no need for soulmates.

With a deep breath that everyone could see, I shook Lily's hand; a smile growing on my face. After my initial worries about touching anyone, I grew more comfortable with shaking everyone's hand minus getting a hug from Pandora. When I got to the last person of this small group he looked a little more intimidating. This boy stood at least 6 feet with broad shoulders, scars littering his face and probably his body, and had a cane that he leaned on. I haven't had too many boys in my life, one being girls and boys weren't allowed to play together and two being most of the boys were creeps.

"I'm Remus Lupin, Prefect Boy for Gryffindor." I could hear an accent that I couldn't place but he didn't sound scary and he also didn't look scared so I didn't see a problem with shaking his hand. When my fingertips just barely touched his hand I felt a spark of electricity straight up my leg, a quiet yelp left my mouth. Just as quickly, I took my hand away before I could even shake his hand.

"It's nice to meet you," I mumbled, the electricity still going up my leg; I subconsciously put my hand over the soulmark I knew was on my thigh.

"Um I'm hungry, would it be possible to be shown where this Great Hall is?" I wanted to avoid any questions that I knew most of them were going to ask. I could feel Remus's eyes linger on me when Regulus decided that yes we could go get lunch now. I stayed next to Regulus the whole time walking down many halls, students of all ages gathering around each other in small groups. I listened in on when I needed to, mostly listening to the group bicker with each other. Regulus seems to be the most fun to tease at the moment.

When we finally reached a set of doors similar to Headmaster Dumbledores, I could hear a lot more noises from behind. Out of habit, I grabbed the first hand that was next to mine, I was expecting Regulus or maybe Pandora, they were the two people I was walking with. But when my hand touched a scarred-up callus-filled hand my eyes flew to the face of one Remus Lupin. I didn't see him move up front but I guess at some point when I wasn't paying attention he slipped right by me. I could make out a small smirk on his face and a quiet huff as well.

"Wrong hand I'm guessing?" His accent doesn't help the blush on my face settle any better and also the fact that he knew I was reaching out for a hand to hold doesn't either.

"Hey, no teasing the princess wolfie!" Regulus' voice suddenly broke me from my trance, like lightning I took my hand back. The warmth that came from Remus still stayed on my hand but I couldn't let myself indulge in something like that.

The whole group at that little nickname burst into cowes, Pandora hugging my neck with her little giggles ringing in my ears. With my blush still getting redder I turned to open the doors but Remus beat me to it.

"Princesses first." He bowed as best as he could with the cane still in his hand. I let Pandora drag me in my face, never calming down one bit. The Great Hall was crowded with many tables filled with students. Some from different houses others from the same, but all in all the room seems lively and peaceful. Pandora didn't stop once she entered the room, she pulled me to a table that had already students at it. I looked behind to see our little group was right with us never missing a beat.

"Everyone this is Ashley, she's new here and is my friend so be nice." Pandora introduced me to the group that seems to be one too many for this table. I grimaced when I heard her say 'she', it's not her fault I never said anything I just don't like to correct people so much.

"Ashley Lipovsky to be exact." Regulus walked up behind me putting a hand on my shoulder. I looked around and saw too many faces for me to remember but there was one that stood out. He looked like Regulus, just longer wavy hair that was up in a bun held together with his wand. The unmistakable silver eyes that The Black Family is known for made the guess a little easier.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Remus going to Sirius and another boy, he was wearing a jersey of some type, and glasses held on his face. His hair was curly and looked like a brush never touched it; he was sitting basically in Sirius's lap from where I stood. I could see Remus whispering something to them both, Sirius' eyes never leaving me for one second. At first, he had a face of shock, probably never thought he would see me at Hogwarts then his face changed into a smirk. When we were younger Regulus would get back at us for teasing by saying that me and Sirius would get married one day. It was funny at the time because we all knew that wasn't going to happen.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you all." I keep my eyes away from Sirius and Remus, I know Remus told them what happened I just hope I can keep my distance from them.
