Prologue
„I just want you to listen to me for once, in your god damn life! “
„Stop complaining, Rosie….“ Barty groans. It's already the third time the couple argues about the upcoming Christmas celebrations. Evan will spend the holiday in France, visiting his family. He really wants Barty to come along, but Barty? He refuses; he cannot stand Evan's family, except for Evan's twin sister, Pandora.
The thing is, Barty just hates Christmas; he hates the happy people, the food, the music—he hates everything about it, and if he hears Last Christmas one more time, he might just throw the radio out the window. Why should he want all the drama if he could just stay at home, preferable with Evan, and have a chill, intimate evening?
„Barty come on!“ Evan tries again, „It's only for one week, and Pandora will be there too!“
„Why? They can't even stand me! Stay here with me, Babe. We will have a great time watching some stupid Christmas movies and sharing a few drinks.“ Evan doesn’t seem happy about the proposal.
„You know what?” Evan gets up and grabs his stuff; he can't believe his boyfriend of 3 years is so stubborn and doesn’t even want to come visit his family with him.
Barty is shocked that Evan suddenly wants to leave. This wasn’t this serious, was it?
„Evan! Wait! Where are you going?“ Barty calls out, „I'm going home; I have a bag to pack, and before Barty could respond anything, Evan is gone.
Barty is left alone…
Normally he would ask Regulus, who lives with him, for advice, but he is on a ski trip with his boyfriend, James, his brother, and his brother's boyfriend…
Never mind, he will have a good time alone, right?
