Chapter 2

Remus woke to banging on the door.

“James Let me in!!” Sirius’s voice called through the door.

Remus stood and opened the door for him, his eyes still baggy and tired.

“Oh Lupin. Sorry I didn’t mean to wake you.”

“Well you did.” Remus grumbled before lying back in his bed.

“You might want to get to breakfast to eh? We’re late as it is.”

Sirius banged on the bathroom door.

“JAMES!”

“WHAT?”

“You’re going to be late!!”

James came back into the room wrapped in a towel around his waist and he dug through his drawers. James felt his cheeks heat up when he glanced at Remus. He wasn’t quite sure why, but he was embarrassed. Remus however, was distracted staring at Sirius.

“Amortetia, loves. This potion lets you know details about your soulmate. Now, could i get a volunteer to come up and tell the class what you learn first?”

Professor Longstone looked around the room and slowly, a girl raised her hand. It was Emma.

“Oh perfect! Ms. Lesting, please come up to the front.”

Emma stood and walked to the front of the room. She was in a maroon dress with brown boots that were knee-high. She leaned towards the potion, touched the potion, then spoke.

“They smell like...coffee. They feel warm. And they are always sitting in quiet library.”

“Good job Ms. Lesting. Now please choose the next person to go.”

“Uh…Remus.” She said obviously picking the first name of a student she could think of. Her eyes darting to Remus.

Remus stood and walked forward, passing Emma on the way to the front. All eyes were on Remus. He leaned forward and touched the potion.

“They smell like smoke...taste like...cherries, and being with them feels like the hum of a crowd.”

“Excellent Mr. Lupin. Now pick someone else.”

“James.” Remus blurted out before sitting back in his seat.

He looked over and caught Sirius staring at him.

What's his problem huh?

“They smell like flowers, they remind you of cinnamon...and they feel like spring water.”

"Mr. Black? Why don't you come up next."

James quietly darted back to his seat, while Sirius stood and confidently walked over to the potion before reached his pale hand out.

"He-I mean She- smells like the autumn wind, she reminds me of the moon, and she feels like...home."

Home? Well wasn't that obvious?

Remus groaned in annoyance. Why can't I get this fucking spell?

"Remus calm down. Just, here."

James grabbed Remus's arm, and guided his wand in the shape of the spell, light suddenly came to his wand, the book he was trying to levitate rose in the air. James quickly removed his hand, turned the other way and coughed, noticing what he had done.

"Anyway, see? You did it. Just had to calm the fuck down a bit."

"Yeah."

Remus sat down on his bed and turned on one of his records. He looked over at James who was staring back at Remus. Just then, Sirius paraded into the room.

"Oi, James! Your Amortentia was definitely Evans!"

"Shut up Sirius. I don't believe in that shit anyway. At least mine didn't sound like some lame poem."

Sirius sat down on his bed, pulled out a fag and he began to smoke it. Remus noticed that Sirius was quietly humming along to the song.

"You like Bowie?" Remus asked not looking up from his book.

"Who bloody doesn't." Sirius says with a scoff.

"I hate you"

"I hate you more!"

"Fuck you!"

"Gladly" Sirius snaps back flirtatiously.

Remus is speechless for a moment and Sirius lets out a laugh.
