Time and tide change all things
November 9 1988
Stepping out the chamber together both Harry and Gabby are greeted by the waiting arms of their kin, Andromeda practically tackling Harry as Appoline and Fleur do the same to Gabrielle. As they reunite however it is the pair to the rear of them that notice the changes most intently as the King of the Goblins and Duchess of Aquitaine watch the way the pair move in sync, reacting to things only the other can see, and watching the small surges of magic between them.
After several minutes of reuniting The Duchess decides enough is enough and says "so Gabrielle, I see just like your mother you have chosen the shape that your life will take."
For several moments the others look confused at The Duchesses words, but then after glancing back and forth for several moments Andromeda notices the way that Harry and Gabby have moved almost instinctively to be touching once again and how they seem to be talking between themselves without words.
Within minutes it is a free for all amongst the pairs relatives as they try and figure out exactly what happened in the chamber and how far things have gone. But it is when Fleur moves forward to attempt to seperate Harry from her sister that they all get their answer, as the moment she tried to reach for them a burning cloak of purple passion fire covers them and Fleur finds herself rapidly pulling back her scalded hand and looking between them in shock.
After several moments without movement or a word spoken, Harry and Gabby start speaking, trading off sentences, "we have indeed chosen." Gabby starts
"We didn't even realise what was happening at first" Harry continues
"It wasn't until we realised that Harry was stabilising sooner than he should that it became obvious that more was going on" Gabby offers
"And by that point, neither of us wanted to do anything about it." Harry shrugs
smiling at Harry Gabby says "We're stable now, although it took us a while to get here…"
"If it hadn't, I might not have survived; really, it was the bond and closeness we shared that allowed the ritual to work" " Harry offers
"We've determined it is a fully stabilised and formed pre-maturation marriage bond", Gabby concludes, and then as one, they say, "And we've decided we are going to be keeping it, no matter what anyone else thinks."
The adults around them look on in shock let alone Fleur who is struggling to comprehend her sister found her bondmate before her let alone that they have a fully realised bond this early. After several minutes of silence however it is The Duchess that once again breaks the silence as she says "are you truly sure, this is the path you wish to take?"
"We are", they respond After several seconds, look into each other's eyes
"Very well" The Duchess responds, then continuing "in that case as Duchess of Aquitaine and head of House Delacour, I call upon House Peverell through House Potter to honour the obligations of their progenitor house, the obligations of the blood of their blood. I call upon House Potter to provide to House Delacour a spouse for the blood of my blood and fulfill the marriage contract left incomplete by the death of Helena Octavia Peverell, sister of Iolanthe Potter Née Peverell, how do you answer Son of Potter, child of Peverell?"
Harry looks The Duchess square in the eye without flinching or blinking and answers, "Duchess Aquitaine I Heir of House Potter will honour the contract left unbound by the blood of our blood, but wish to make conditions three"
"Name your conditions Heir Potter” the Duchess commands
"Condition 1: the marriage is to be between Gabrielle Isobella Delacour and myself fulfilled on the day we achieve our magical majority"
The Duchess barely blinks before saying "Your first condition is accepted Heir Potter, continue"
"Condition 2: Gabrielle will become lady of all houses I hold title to now or in the future and retain all titles of her own independent of me."
At this, The Duchess actually smiles as she says, "your condition is accepted, Heir Potter; name your third."
"Gabrielle and I shall retain full autonomy over ourselves, our lives and our magics in perpetuity, and any child born of our union shall be considered a child of all progenitor houses subject to the same considerations"
The Duchess considers his words for a moment and then realising they must have done some learning on old marriage contracts in the time room answers "Agreed"
"Very well then Duchess Aquitaine, on behalf of the blood of our blood, House Potter agrees to the marriage, so mote it be"
"So mote it be, Duke, Potter", the Duchess answers, her smile appearing slightly more avian as a wave of magic radiates outward from both her and the young couple
In the moments that follow the surge of magic Harry feels something else change as a wave of knowledge hits him and Gabrielle both, looking down at his hand where it is clasped in Gabrielle's he watches as a magical series of Runes tattoo themselves around first his ring finger then start spiralling up his arm, but things don't stop there as a series of rings appear on his fingers carrying the sigils of House Potter, Peverell, Black, Myrdin and Clan morrigan. As the rings form he watches as a series of runes spiral upwards from the rings alongside those runes from the runic engagement band.
Looking over to Gabby's left arm he is unsurprised to see similar happening there and is entranced at the ways the lines seem to dance and swirl mirroring his own. Before long however the runes have reached their current end and Harry can practically feel the family magics winding their way through the runes up his arm and reaching his shoulder. He feels the way the magic embraces him and surrounds him and Gabrielle both in a warm loving embrace.
Looking over to see Andromeda still watching him with shock, he says, "Well, that's not quite what I expected."
This earns him a look from Andromeda as she tries to control her expression while clearly Fleur doesn't quite manage to do so letting go of a snigger. Before he can say anything further, though, Andromeda steps forward and pulls him and his now fiancé into her arms, says, "you silly Gryffindor boy, why couldn't you have been a Slytherin like me? At least this way? I know you have a brilliant young witch to watch after you and hex you when you're stupid."
This is the straw that breaks the camels back and quickly everyone is laughing as Harry insists he would never be so foolish as to need hexing and Gabby assures Andi she knows the stinging hex wandlessly already and will accept no tomfoolery. Something that quickly gets contested by her sister, who reminds everyone that Gabby's idea of no tomfoolery has previously resulted in several small Forrest fires and earning herself the aforementioned wandless stinging hex
