Rejuvenation: Book 1: Part 1 - Discoveries & Lessons

Prologue

{Time: 3 years after the Final Battle}

Harry sighed as he looked out over at the Hogwarts grounds; he was done, done being everyone’s saviour, everyone’s scapegoat, everything. Ever since he defeated Voldemort, he has been called out repeatedly by every magical in every magical civilization in a mile radius. But that didn’t stop those further out from trying and it wasn’t for life threatening but for normal everyday things that they could do themselves.

He is done with everything, if its people calling him out for not helping them with their problems, its condemning Harry for not being there, not being fast enough.

“You can do something about it you know?” A voice spoke up behind him.

Harry jumped at the sound and turned to see Andromeda Tonks walking up behind him, his godson; Teddy in her arms. “What do you mean?”

“The problem is that due to your inaction of not standing up for yourself, to fight for your freedom; you are giving the public incentive to keep harassing you,” Andromeda said as she passed Teddy to him.

“That’s the problem... I don’t know next to nothing to do with the Wizarding World, let alone all the rules and regulations that make it up.”

“Curse Dumbledore for his need for power,” Andromeda muttered under her breath. “Then ask for help, it's not too late and there are a lot of people who would be happy to help without asking for more.”

Harry thought for a moment on all he could ask before stopping short, “will you help me please, Mrs. Tonks?”

She smiled back at him in reassurance, “of course. But first, call me Aunty Andy.”

For the next 6 months, Harry had quit from the Auror Corps stating personal reasons and vanished from the public eye. There were a bunch of speculations but no one came forth but not the lack of trying; all of his friends and their friends were being harassed but they stood fast.

Harry, in the meantime, used the time to catch up on his wizarding customs and education with the help of some more friends that he made after the war. The remaining Slytherins that helped out in the Final Battle and were acquitted from any crimes, Theodore Nott and his siblings, Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, Tracey Davis, Daphne Greengrass and her sister to name a few.

It was gruelling to absorb years' worth of information in such a short amount of time but Harry pulled through to not look like a fool. In all of the information that he thought would be useful later on, so he took note and put it in a safe spot to retrieve when the time was right.

Harry jolted as he found some interesting information in some old text that he was reading, he was reading some old texts on his break from his etiquette training. With this information, he would be able to right some wrongs that have gone unpunished and according to the text, there would be severe consequences. "Hey guys, come look at this."

His study buddies for the day were: Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, Blaise Zabini and Theodore Nott; they were helping him navigate his way as a young aristocratic lord of the Highly Most Ancient and Highly Most Noble House of Potter. It was an interesting affair when he found out about his lineage. it also dried up the last respects he had for his former mentor, if you can call it that, Albus 'too many names' Dumbledore. It took him two weeks two calm down after he found out what the man did to him and his friends.

The friends were compiling all of their respective family libraries information so that they could do the research without stepping on the family magics' metaphorical toes. All their information that they managed to gather has been painting an ugly picture that they [with the exception of the Slytherins] had to take some time to accept. However, one of their own is stubbornly refusing to accept the truth besides faced with some hard facts; a certain muggleborn.

Hermione, despite being in the wizarding world for the better part of her life out of Hogwarts; is quite stubborn and set in her ways. She doesn't seem to grasp yet that there is a huge difference in cultures, but it seemed to ease with the help of the other bookworm in their new group.

At first Harry was worried about Hermione, as after the war she and Ron had broken up; having stated similar reasons he gave for when he broke up with Ginny. But the two seemed to be more relax now than ever and had stopped fighting as Hermione never really forgave Ron when he ran out on them when they were on the run. But after a while everyone settled down in their new dynamic, although Ron did start dating one of their friends: Luna with Hermione's blessing.

"Harry come look at this," said Theo after he got back to his research. "After looking at what you found, I remembered something. If we combine what you found and what I found-"

"We will be able to nail them," Harry said. "Too bad we can't nail Dumbledork."

"What do you mean? Isn't he dead?" Neville asked confused.

"That's what he wants you to think, don't you find it weird that out of all the past headmaster potraits, his was different," Harry said.

"Now that I think about it, I did feel the difference in potraits but I thought nothing of it," revealed Neville shocked. Luna hummed in agreement, the Slytherins exchanged shocked glances with each other and another surprised guest who entered the room.

"We need to solve the issue with the Goblin Nation as soon as possible," said Blaise in shock.

"What do you mean?" asked Luna.

"Turns out, Dumbledore has kept more than we thought from the Wizarding World," said the newcomer.

"And we will find out more about it," agreed Blaise.

The non-slytherins tried prying the information out of them but was successful, all they got in return was that all will be revealed in time. So the fhree were resigned to their fate until the time came.

~Wizarding Etiquette Training~

"Why do I have to learn this?" Harry groaned as he slouched in a nearby seat after walking for hours while trying to keep a straight posture.

"You? Why do we have to learn? I'm the youngest of my brother's, there is no way i should be learning this," Ron grumbled beside him.

"UP! UP! I will not have the three of you ruin all my hardwork," their slavedriver- **ahem** tutor of the day, Andromeda Tonks said sharply when she saw them.

Harry. Ron and Hermione quickly straightened their spines, though the Boys did look at their friend worriedly; she seemed to be having a crisis.

"Excuse me, Aunt Andy?" Harry tried speaking up.

"What!"

"I think Hermione needs a minute," Harry said intimidated.

Andromeda looked at the girl and noticed her palor, "Very well, I shall take her to the other room. When i get back, i expect straight backs!" The girls than went into the other room to give Hermione a breather, while they were gone; Neville came in.

"Wotcher, Harry."

"Neville! Have you come to save us?" Ron said in relief.

"No, if i had to suffer this growing up; so do you."

"But why do I have to do it? Harry is the Heir."

"Oi."

"Well, Ron. Aren't you planning to court Luna?"

"Well yes..."

"And did you know that she is a Heiress?"

"...Well yes..."

"Its important to learn this so you don't get ridiculed out there!"

"But, I'm a war hero!"

"The old Lords won't care for that, plus Luna tends to traditional. In spite of her eccentrics."

"..." Ron thought about it for a bit, he knew that this might be coming. Afterall, Luna did warn him. He than turned to Neville determinedly: "fine, I do it for Luna."

"That's the spirit!" Neville said clapping.

Harry smiled at his old friend, he certainly had changed from the frightened boy from their first year. He was happy that Neville was now more confident, although he suspected there was another reason. All he can do is silently wish the other luck, he had gone through it once before. Especially because of that scare that happened during the Final Battle; before he could do anything, the girls returned.

"Come on, you lot. Stop lollygagging around," Andromeda said as she returned to the center of the room, Hermione now looking better.

The three students stood next to each other, new found confidence in their will. They wanted to know as much as they can, so that they can not be looked on like fools.
