Couches in the Common Room
Prompt: Couches
When one enters the Gryffindor common room, they would be greeted by the cozy atmosphere covered in red and gold. Often, they would find at least a few people on the cozy couches, especially the ones near the warm fireplace. And when one finds one of the people in your trio of a relationship, they would expect to see the other two to join in with them at some point.
Today, it seems, that the first person on the couches was Percy Weasley, scribbling his thoughts away on a piece of parchment that was most likely for an assignment. He was sitting on the side of the couch, wanting to leave room for others to join him—the “others” being you and Oliver 99% of the time. His face was scrunched up in concentration, with his right elbow resting on the armrest, and fingers of his left hand rubbing against his temple. Any normal person would not approach him in this state, as any attempt to make some small talk with him at this point in time would result in a grumpy Percy and a victim of the said grumpy Percy.
However, there are only two people exempted from the possibility of creating a grumpy Percy. That is, as you know, yourself and Oliver Benjamin Wood. Hell, not even his own siblings could approach him without being threatened of exposing their deepest darkest secrets to their mother. You, proud to be one of the exceptions, walk over to Percy and plop down next to him. He shoots a quick glance to your direction to check who it is, but you ignore him and settle down. To make yourself comfortable, you immediately lie down on your back and place your head on his lap, looking up into his neck and underside of his jaw. He pulls out a cushion from somewhere, and lifts your head slightly to place it between you head and his lap. Satisfied with the added comfort, you snuggle against his stomach before you look up again. As you study the freckles that make their way down his neck, you notice two small moles along the left side of his jaw. I didn’t know Perce had moles down here. That’s kind of hot. Amongst the freckles that were sprinkled across his skin, they looked like two bright stars among a starry night sky.
Taking in its beauty, you let out a small yawn as you stretch before talking to him, “Hey, Cee?” He lets out a small “hmm” to acknowledge your intention to converse with him. “Y’know you have two moles on the underside of your left jaw?” You ask in a soft voice, reaching out and brushing your fingertips across the birthmarks that align perfectly with his sharp jawline. He tenses up a bit, and you quickly retract your hand before mumbling out a small sorry.
“It’s fine, don’t worry.” He quietly says, eyes still glued onto the parchment in front of him. You lift your head off of his lap for a moment, and plant a small kiss on the moles you were just staring at earlier. You see him smile for a moment, and you unconsciously mirror the expression before going back down on his lap.
It seems that you were too immersed with staring at his neck or just dozed off without noticing, as you didn’t notice a third figure approaching you two. They collapsed on top of you, face buried in your chest. Startled, you and Percy turn your head towards whoever decided to invite themselves into their wholesome moment, before realising that it was just your other third that completes the trio. You put down a threatening fist you didn’t realise you held up, deciding that there was no need to beat the shit out of an “arse that suddenly makes contact with your private areas without consent”. It was just Oliver.
“Oh,” was all you could let out before Percy opened his mouth to complain about your other third’s sudden appearance. “You know Ollie, why don’t you give us a word or some sort before you go ahead and scare us like that? Y/n over here just got the living shite scared out of her, because you thought it was a good idea to throw yourself on top of her like that,” he lectured Oliver, and you noted that he sounded a lot like his mother. You chuckled lightly to that, as you noticed Oliver lifting his head up from your chest to look at Percy with his best puppy eyes. “Stop looking at me like that, Ollie. What you need to do is, apologise to y/n. How does that sound, hm?”
Oliver dropped his puppy eye expression, and turned his gaze down to look at you in the eye. He looked at you with genuine guilt in his face, before whispering, “Sorry about that y/n. I must’ve startled you a lot, right?” You accepted his apology quickly, as you were never really mad at him in the first place. You were just surprised a bit. After seeing that you’re not mad, Oliver lowered his head again, his nose nuzzling into your sternum. However, that interaction between Oliver and Percy made you feel slightly guilty. Earlier today before settling down in Percy’s lap, you also did the exact same thing and decided to plop down without any warning. You wondered if Percy felt startled by that the same way she just did with Oliver.
Your gaze went back up to Percy’s underside of his jaw, your eyebrows slightly furrowed. Percy took notice of that, looking at you in a confused manner. You decided not to mention your source of guilt, though, and instead just enjoy the quiet and peaceful moments with your boyfriends. Percy contently doing his assignments with you in his lap, you gazing up at Percy’s neck and jaw with Oliver on top of you, and Oliver enjoying your warmth with your legs wrapped around his lower back. The three of them, on a couch, in front of a fireplace, just enjoying each other’s company in silence.
It was moments like these that one would expect when entering the Gryffindor common room.
