It was a beautiful day in October, the leaves were brown and crisp with just a hint of gold to them just like his loves eyes Sirius concluded as he sat looking out of the window. He imagined him being pushed around by his mum, not mother oh no, his mum was Euphemia Potter and she was the most gentle, beautiful women ever. He was snapped out of his thoughts by the door slamming open to revel a frantic looking James (although he always looked slightly frazzled with his unruly hair) ‘mate, you’re not even dressed! You’re getting married in an hour!’ Sirius just smiled softly ‘I know prongs but I just miss her’ James scooped him into a hug, a warm comforting embrace ‘I know mate, she’s here and she’s so proud of you, she always will be’ they spent some time sat quietly which is unusual for the marauders not mourning just remembering.
Half an hour later Sirius was dressed in a 3 piece tuxedo and his hair done in perfect ringlets, eyeliner and his moon and star earrings in separate ears. He grinned at himself as he looked in the mirror. He was ready.
Remus lupin POV
Remus was frantic, unbeknown to him the complete opposite of his fiancé. ‘MA WHERE IS MY SHIRT!’ He cried out ‘ Remus John Lupin, relax. You will be fine.’ Hope Lupin stood there with her arms crossed in her orange dress which matched her perfectly. Remus whimpered slightly ‘what if he doesn’t love me anymore ma, or that he doesn’t want me? Maybe he didn’t ever, what if I-‘ he was spiralling but his mother quickly cut that off. ‘Oh hush you, he wouldn’t have said yes if he didn’t love you, I’ve seen how that man looks at you, you are his stars and moon and whole universe’ she reassured.
45 minutes later Remus Lupin had found his shirt and also something else to fret about.
The Hall was packed with friends and family all happy to celebrate the wonderful couple. Remus was stood at the front waiting for his husband to be and he looked like he was about to pass out he was playing with his star and moon bracelet. Quiet fell upon the hall as the queen based wedding march was begun to play. Remus turned and saw his soon to be husband walking down the isle with James next to him and he felt tears forming, clouding his vision, oh how his love was so beautiful, he was so handsome and Remus was in awe. He barely remembered the ceremony as he lost himself in his fiancé.
‘I now pronounce you husbands. You may kiss’ Fleamont said joyously! And kiss they did, it was bordering on indecent but they reined it in. Cheers erupted in the hall as they ran back down the aisle holding hands and grinning like idiots. Remus had never been happier than on this day.
They spent 30 minutes alone together, there were a couple of snacks and a table laid out and they sat and spoke about their mornings. Sirius howling in laughter and Remus’ stress to which Remus grumbled slightly on how unfair it was. They held hands and just relaxed in each others presence. After one final kiss they were ready to face their friends and family for an evening of fun.
Sirius POV:
The first dance was to ‘somebody to love’ by Queen very quickly followed by ‘starman’ by David Bowie. The rest of the night was filled with hits and everyone danced. Then, came the mother son dance. Remus and Hope took the dance floor together and Sirius quietly stepped aside not wanting to take this moment from them. He looked at his shoes and quietly admired the shine. He began to think about what his own mother would think of this, would she dance with him? Of course not. She didn’t love him. He felt tears well up in his eyes and then he felt a hand on his shoulder and his eyes shot up to see his old Professor McGonagall with her hand out
‘are you crying Mr Black?’ Sirius sniffled ‘No, and it’s Mr Lupin. I’m a married man now Minnie’ she smiled gently as he took her hand and she lead them out to the dance floor ‘I never doubted it for a second’ she said just to him. His heart warmed and he danced the dance with her and the rest of the night was spent partying.
As the night wore on and the newlyweds left they found themselves looking up at the moon and the stars and found they were next to each other in the stars, in person and in any universe they knew they would be happy.
