Uh oh I no longer have a rival
When I saw Hermione and the Weasleys I ran into the nearest compartment Downside it was Malfoys. Woops guess I'll die now.
“Get out Potter! I can't be seen with the likes of you.”
“Look Malfoy, I don't exactly want to be here either but I can't leave until Hermione, Ron and Ginny stop looking for me.”
“Why are you hiding from them? I thought you were friends.”
“Let's See we aren't friends anymore because they ignore me every summer so can we just make a truce? I've never really wanted to be your enemy anyway.”
“What? You, the golden boy wants to be friends with me? Why? Tell me why and maybe I'll think about it.”
“I've had enough of my life being controlled. I want to be free. Free of Dumbledore. From anyone who isn't myself really.”
“Ok I understand. You just want to be free. You want to be grey huh.”
“ Grey?”
“You know the grey faction of wizengamot. I could see you being one you haven't really seemed to be a light side man so I figure you'd Go darker eventually. Also the potters are a historically grey family. I thought Dumbledore would have told you?”
“ No, he hasn't told me a thing. He likes to keep me ignorant. He had compulsions on me.”
“ What! He what! You need to report him to the profit or something.”
“ And what expect them to believe me all they are doing is spouting about nonsense that Sirius betrayed my parents.”
“ Wait Aunt Alurea was right I figured she was spouting nonsense you know how seers are.”
“ Who's Alurea?”
“Alurea Black my mom's cousin but everyone in the family calls her Aunt Alurea. She very influential in the wizengamot. The grey and dark factions usually listen to her suggestions. She's also going to be our magical theory professor. She has a mastery in Magical theory and a mastery in ancient ritual magic.”
“ Oh I thought those books were interesting. I actually tried the purification ceremony from household worship.”
“ Ooh getting a taste for Ancient ritual magic it's quite grey if you ask me many practitioners are actually necromancers if you didn't know.”
“ Necromancy isn't that forbidden?”
“ Yes well without a necromancer you won't get a proper funeral they are quite important you know.”
Well I guess you learn something new everyday. Necromancy I guess I'll have to see. Maybe I can ask this Alurea. She might tell me if I'm friends with malfoy.
“Listen Malfoy, I'm finally trying to learn more magic without Dumbledore's influence. Maybe you could help me?”
“ I can't but maybe Aunt Alurea could help you. But between you and me she is quite the dark witch.”
“ What does that mean?”
“ Uh Potter, do I have to point it out for you? She is part of the dark faction; she even went to school with the dark lord.”
“ Oh So she'll probably try to kill me?”
“Oh gods no she’d never intentionally hurt a child the dark faction is for the protection of magical children. It's the light and some grey you gotta worry about sacrificing bunch they are. Cowards are never doing anything themselves.”
“ I see, thank you for telling me… Draco.” I murmured hoping Draco wouldn't notice. Draco smiled at me. A nice smile like a thousand diamonds sparkling. Hopefully we can be friends now.
“ Harry, I see now that we can have a decent conversation. Perhaps we can be friends. You look tired, take a nap, you definitely need it.”
The door of the compartment opens and a boy around my age with silver eyes walks in. He turns toward Draco and says.
“Draco! Ive been looking everywhere for you. Mother said to stay with you. ”
“Mattheo I've been here the whole time! What have you really been doing?”
“Well i was saying by to mother and auror showed up and started to interrogate us. Going on and on where is Sirius black. Like my mother and I know where he is! I haven't met the man.”
“Ah I see. Harry this is my cousin Mattheo Black. Mattheo this is Harry Potter.”
“Oh nice to meet you Potter.” He says sticking out his hand. I shake it and say.
“ You can call me Harry my friends usually do.”
“So what were you and Draco talking about? Mattheo says taking a seat beside Draco.
“ Oh we were talking about you mother actually.” Draco says.
His mother? Oh his mother is Alurea Black the new magical theory class.
“Why does everyone have to take a magical theory class? I say confused since It didn't used to be appart of the curriculum.
“The Grey and dark factions wanted more variety in the education so his mom presented a bill to wizengamot to slowly introduce more classes starting with magical theory.” Draco said
“What other classes are they going to introduce?”
“Well quite a bit of magic was banned because of Dumbledore. The other schools have loads more classes. Blood magic, Dark arts, and spell crafting. Though I'd say magical theory is the most complicated course we have.”
“Why?”
It's Mattheo who speaks up this time.
“ My mother will probably say this to all the students who don't know so it's no worry. But I'll tell you now anyway. So magical theory is a class on magic now for the first few years but third year up it theory on ancient spells and how they came to exist now. We will be studying ancient magic as it was.”
“Thank you, both of you. Because of Dumbledore I didn't grow up learning any of this so I'm grateful.”
I now had a new understanding of the world of magic. I'm glad we'll be learning ancient magic as it's caught my eye over the last month. Now I was also dreading going to the great hall.
