a wedding in a war
A few months passed by calmly. Now Harry had celebrated his first birthday and the war was in full swing, but all in all James and Regulus had managed to keep their lives relatively the same as before. They went to meetings for the order and Regulus told Dumbledore everything that happened at all of the death eater meetings but somehow they had both managed to avoid the carnage of the war thus far.
At first James and Regulus planned to get married after the war had ended, but as the days passed they saw the war stretching longer and longer with no end in sight and no guarantee that they would live to see the end of it, so they decided to have a small celebration before the war got too out of hand. They kept it small, promising each other that they would have a more public wedding once the war was finally over and only had six guests; Lily, Mary, Harry, Peter, Sirius, and Remus though Lily and Sirius were acting as best man and maid of honor and Harry was the ring bearer now that he had learned to walk. The wedding wasn’t much (especially since gay marriage wasn’t legal yet) but still it was the best day of Regulus’ life. He was so happy to stand in front of his friends and family and promise to love James for the rest of their lives.
