first year
it was october now, the weather was getting colder.
“I hate the cold” said aimée, throwing herself on her bed “I like it” said Rue, putting down her book.
“On this one i must agree with aimée” said Emmeline screaming from the bathroom and amelia nodded as well “it’s just too cold to do anything” said exhausted aimée putting her head under her pillow. Rue giggled.
it has been a month since andy gifted her that stereo and she still hadn’t used it “should we put some music?” asked looking at the stereo, “what song tho?” asked amelia sitting on her bed, Emmeline got out of the bathroom, her hair was wet and she was only wearing her pj shirt “touch somethings, my sister had one and she rolled those things i think”
Now, aimée knew how to use a stereo, she just wasn’t sure she could, andy gave it to her but for aimée it was still Andy stereo.
Emmeline sat on her bed and rolled some buttons, an electrical noise came out of the stereo. Amelia stood up and go near the other girls
Suddenly “you gotta make your own kind of music” started playing, Emmeline was enthusiastic and so was amelia.
They jumped and started dancing and singing
soon enough the aimée was dancing too, “come on rue!” said the girl taking her hand “dance with us”
“But you've gotta—” screamed Emmeline “make your own kind of music!” finished the lyrics amelia “Sing your own special song” aimée looked at rue “Make your own kind of music” shyly said the girl smiling.
And all four of them sang together “Even if nobody else sings along”
They had so much fun, they kept dancing and jumping around until they were sweating and so tired they could barely stand.
They all laid down on the floor still heavily breathing “I'm so glad I ended you with you guys for roommates” said Emmeline laughing “i couldn’t survive seven years with boring people” everyone laughed.
aimée was glad she found friends, real friends, the only ones she had growing up were her siblings and her not related cousins.
They went to sleep happy, exhausted from all the dancing but happy.
“Wake up!” screamed Emmeline throwing something at aimée bed, she opened her eyes for a second and then closed them again. “Wake up!” said again, this time more loudly, “we are so late, aimée!” finally she opened her eyes, she sat on the bed to found a mess on the floor “bloody hell” said yawning “what happened” Amelia came out of the bathroom, she was clearly rushing because her tie was not tight enough and she had her toothbrush in her mouth
“what happened is” said Emmeline, throwing her clothes “that we are late!” she said putting on one shoe “what do you mean late it’s only—” she looked at the clock. 7.45am.
“Fuck!” said aimée jumping off the bed, “we are late!” Emmeline sighed “why didn’t you wake me up earlier” and ran in the bathroom “we tried!” screamed from the other room her friend.
Rue was in the bathroom styling her hair, “morning” said aimée opening going to was her face, rue smiled “good morning” she was probably still too sleepy to function properly but rue looked more beautiful than normal. She was always gorgeous but at that moment she looked like an angel.
“Aimée Louise Rosier!” Emmeline screamed, opening the bathroom door “put on your bloody clothes!” aimée couldn’t help but laugh.
Last night they were so tired they didn’t hear the alarm? weird but, surely an option.
Even though they didn’t know how, they managed to not be late, they even had breakfast, but for the rest of the day Emmeline was pissed at aimée.
“Psycho” whispered to Emmeline while they were entering in class, “don’t talk to me Rosier,” said Emmeline sitting next to her.
Finally classes were over and the four met up again, “potion is killing me” whined Emmeline “it’s not that hard” said amelia while looking for a snack in her bag “nerd” replied annoyed the other girl.
Rue wasn’t left out of course, she liked to listen, she was always with them even if she didn’t talk much, they always asked for her opinions on important things, and she was always listening to everything they said.
“I'm so hungry I could eat a horse” said aimée looking at Amelia snack “absolutely not” ssid Amelia putting all the food in her mouth “you monster” said dramatically the girl, Emmeline laughed and high-fived her.
“aren’t we going to eat lunch?” said confused rue “i wish i have to do some dumb assignment because i was late for class yesterday” said aimée “how were you late, we are always walking in the hall together” said Emmeline looking at her funny “if you must know, my idiotic cousin, sirius, wanted to hang out and we lost the track of time” she sighed “he was late too so i guess im satisfied” she giggled
“why are you hanging out with people during class time?” asked confused amelia still chewing her snack “told ya, idiotic cousin”
“for solidarity” said Amelia “we are waiting for you to eat lunch” aimée smiled “hell no, we aren’t” said Emmeline, “you don’t get to chose” said happily the friend “you guys are the best friends i could ask for” said aimée pretending to dry a tear “but if you really want to come with me doing the assignments, you are going to meet a friend of mine” Emmeline scoffed “i’m surprised you have other friends”
“Correction, Amelia, rue you are the best friends i could ask for” said teasing aimée “asshole” said Emmeline “dickhead” replied aimée.
The library was almost empty, only some older kids studying for their exams and Rosie, she was waiting for aimée patientally. When she saw her a big smile appeared on her face and she loudly whispered “aimée!” and went for a hug.
“Rosie, Amelia, Emmeline and you already know rue” said introducing the girls,“pleasure” said the girl bowing her head and smiled at rue.
They all sat down at the largest table they could find “were you late this morning?” she asked so innocently, amelia giggled “err, ya” said aimée trying hard not to laugh.
“here i bought you something to eat” said rosie handing over some chocolates frogs, fudge flies and a piece of cauldron cake “oh you sweet, sweet angel!” said aimée kissing her on the cheeks and forehead,
“Enjoy yourself” said Rosie looking at the other girls as well “cheers!” said Emmeline “cheers!” mumbled aimée, her mouth was already full of sweets.
“Take some of this” said gently, Amelia passing a little piece of cake to rue, who wasn’t really trying to get anything “thank— thank you” it was unexpected, Amelia smiled at her sweetly.
After an hour or so aimée finished the assignment, it was 1.15pm and they went to eat lunch all together, “you are alright ros” said Emmeline walking next to her “thank you, you're not bad yourself” replied rosie in her usual sweet voice “come to our dorm some time, aimée got a stereo and we play music” continued the black haired girl “sometimes” precise aimée “sometimes we play music” Emmeline rolled her eyes “sometime, we play music” rosie laughed “thank you for the invitation, i would love to come”
they had lunch all five together, rue was awfully quiet that aimée almost forgot she was there, she whispered “alright?” rue looked at her “alright”
aimée felt bad she never once thought about rue, she knew she was very shy and had trouble meeting new people so she was probably at least a little uncomfortable
“sorry for the chaos, i know you hate it” rue stopped eating “you make me sound boring as fuck” aimée stared at her, not sure wether to laugh or not, rue started laughing “you look like a fish when you do that stare” aimée cooled down “what stare?” said confused “when you don’t know what to say, your eyes are wide and your mouth is a little open” aimée felt embarrassed “i do that!?” rue couldn’t help but laugh.
“em, do i do a fish stare?” said panicking aimée “a what?” asked really confused her friend “fish stare” emeline started smiling “oh yes! the fish stare” she started laughing really loud, amelia nodded “when you don’t know what to say or when you are confused” aimée searched for rosie eyes “you always did” revealed her friend “since when you were like five, i remember playing hide and seek and when you got find you had that stare” rosie laughed.
“my life is ruined” said dramatically aimée, amelia almost choked on water “dramatically much?” teased emmeline.
Aimée didn’t talk for a minute “fish stare!” screamed amelia, and everyone started laughing “i hate you all” said rolling her eyes aimée.
“I really need to study this thing, I'm sorry girls,” said Rosie, sighing, “if you finish early, come to our dorm, please,” said Emmeline, hugging her. They got along well, thought aimée, “yes, please come,” said amelia waving at her.
Emmeline threw an arm on rue shoulder and yawned “is it acceptable to take naps?” asked giggling the girl “I dunno, hope so” said aimée interlocking her arm with amelia.
“if you think hard enough, we are always on a sleepover” said amelia “merlin, i wish i knew what was going on inside your head” teased emmeline, rue giggled, “i’m tired too” the black haired girl smiled “we should all take a big nap” everyone agreed, and so back in their dorm they did, they slept until 6pm when someone knocked on their door.
“Vance, you get it” said still half asleep aimée “suck my dick” replied emmeline still with her eyes closed “i’ll get it” interrupted rue standing up “our saviour” yawned amelia.
standing outside the door were marlene and lily “it’s for you aimée” said smiling at the girls and letting them in.
“ha!” laughed Emmeline, “shut up, vance! don’t make me come there” said aimée sitting up.
“Marls! Lils!” said when she finally woke up completely “were you sleeping?” teased marlene “hell yeah i was, well everyone one was”
“Anyway, what are you doing here?” she patted on her bed to make them sit “well—” said marlene, she was too excited for aimée opinion, fortunately lily interrupted her “sirius and his friends wants to host a party” she rolled her eyes “would you like to come?” continued marlene. way too excited.
“a party? in october?” she was confused “why?” lily shook her shoulders “only merlin knows what’s going on in their heads” she sounded like a mum, and that made her giggle.
“When's this party?” asked aimée “right, it’s the last weekend of october” replied lily “i only have one request” said aimée smiling “i will come, only if my dear mates here, can come as well” amelia and emmeline mumbled something, they were still sleeping and rue looked at her, aimée smiled at her and out a thumb up.
“Sure, you can invite whomever you want,” said Marlene, smiling from ear to ear. “What's up with her?” asked aimée concerned “she loves, loves party i guess” malene nodded frenetically.
“well that was it” said lily standing up “we have to go, mary declared friday night is drama night, so we have to tell eachother everything intriguing we know” clearly it wasn’t lily cup of tea, but she was still happy “come one marlene” said the ginger gir.
“bye aimée” said the two girls waving at her.
When they left she closed the door and a big smile appeared on her face.
“We are going to a party!” screamed, amelia fell out of the bed because of the yell and emmeline finally woke up “what?” said amelia getting up “we are going to a party!” repeated jumping around.
“This is awesome!” said Emmeline standing up, “I could kiss you right now!” said the black haired girl hugging her friend. “This needs some music,” said Amelia walking to the stereo.
“Oh yes!” said emmeline, already ready to dance, rue out down the book she was reading and stood up to dance with her friends “i never been to a party” revealed the girl “me neither, that’s why i'm excited” said emmeline out of pure excitement.
“If you don’t count those pureblood family meetings me neither” said aimée putting hand on rue shoulder “neither did i!” said amelia, the music started.
This time it was Sweet Caroline playing, everyone in that dorm knew and loved that song and started daning and singing together.
When the music stopped they stopped on a bed, aimée half her head on Emmeline thighs, amelia was head upside down and rue was sitting on the floor.
“I want to form a band,” said proudly. “a band?” asked amelia “yeah, i want to be famous, like led zeppelin or even ABBA” she felt rue smiling “not my thing sorry” replied her friend.
“That's brills!” said Emmeline enthusiastically, aimée smiled “hell yes” the black haired girl wanted to say something but stopped and eventually she said it “i want to be a part of your band” said proudly Emmeline.
“really?” asked happily aimée “Are you kidding me? Of course, that’s so cool.” Emmeline wss smiling ear to ear.
“What instrument can you play?” said aimée “i would like to sing or play the guitar” Emmeline stopped and thought for a second “when i was eight mum forced me to learn play the violin but i can play the bass as well” aimée eyes lit up “you are going to play the bass then”
“you guys don’t wanna be a part of the next big british band?” asked jokingly aimée “i’ll pass said amelia” her face was red because of how many time she stayed upside down “thanks, but no thanks” said rue “although, i’m going to be a big fan” amelia nodded “yes me too”
now she needs two other people, aimée though and her big dream could come true, maybe she could ask rosie? even though she was pretty sure she didn’t know how to play any instruments, maybe pandora or evan? she thought for a second, but having a band with your siblings sounded a little pathetic.
