Sirius's POV

He hadn't fully registered what Marlene had said before he had his shoes on and him and Moony where standing in the lobby of the muggle hospital. James was in a chair in the corner, he had a blanket wrapped around his shoulders. Regulus was no where to be seen.

"Prongs!" Sirius said crossing the threshold and coming to sit beside him, Remus on his other side.

"Well," Sirius said not sure what to say, "Things escalated quickly." James laughed slightly but it quickly turned into sobs, Sirius pulled him into his chest and looked over at Moony. He raised an eyebrow and Remus shrugged.

"Hey, James mate," Sirius took James by the shoulders and raised him up to eye level, "You did nothing wrong, you know that right?"

"But if I hadn't pushed him -"

"No." Sirius said firmly shaking his head. "Nothing. You did nothing wrong."

"Here." Remus said sliding a bar of chocolate over to James who took it and began eating.

'What?' Sirius mouthed, Remus shrugged and Sirius shock his head.

"Where is he now?" Sirius asked. James pointed over to the large glass doors.

"The took him through there. Marlene had to go back on shift."

"What are the odds you got Marls, eh?"

James nodded pulling his blanket tighter.

"Do you know how long he's been through there?"

James glanced up at the clock, "Twenty minutes?"

"Okay."

2.am

Sirius wasn't sure what time they'd arrived at the hospital, eight or nine o'clock at night probably, but they didn't get called through until two am.

"Sorry only one person can go through at the moment." Said the nurse apologetically as the all stood up.

"No worries," Remus said, "James?"

But James shock his head, sitting back down, "Sirius you go. I can't right now. I'll probably punch him so something."

Sirius smiled softly and stood up, "You sure?" James nodded hiding further into his blankets, Sirius squeezed his shoulder and smiled and Remus who wrapped an arm around the other boy, allowing him to rest his head on his shoulder.

The nurse led Sirius down a small hall stopping at one of the blue curtained doors, "Who are you to him?" She asked propping a clip board on her hip,

"I'm his brother." Sirius relied. The nurse nodded and pulled back the curtains.

Regulus was lying on a hospital bed with many drips attached to his arm by needles. His arms that were bare. Sirius hadn't seen that in a while, he always wore long sleeves. But now he could see that among the scars from previous years ley fresh scabs. He didn't know Regulus had relapsed.

He sat on the chair by his bed trying not to stare at his scars. There was a doctor in the corner of the room busying herself with measuring different medicines.

"He's thrown up most of it," She said turning to lean against the counter looking Regulus up and down, "He's awake, responsive. Really tired though, so not speaking. Trying to flush out the rest of it through this." She pointed to the blue needle in his wrist.

"He hates needle." Sirius said.

"I know." The doctor replied.

"Mary?" Sirius asked,

"Yes?" The doctor turned to look at him but he didn't look at her, "He'll be okay?"

"Yeah, Marlene's got some killer reactions got him out of the house and here in fifteen minutes."

Sirius didn't say anything. After about ten minutes Mary gave him a dose of medicine and said she'd be back in twenty minutes before she left.
Regulus began to stir and Sirius snapped his head open,

"James?" The younger boy asked

"Sirius." Sirius confirmed.

"Oh."

"James is in the lobby though. Didn't want to come through."

"Why not?"

"He's angry. You really scared him Reg. You scared us all. Marlene, Mary, Lily, James, Remus, Me. Don't ever do that again you fucking hear me?"

"Yeah... How come so many people know?"

"Well James knows because you fucking collapsed on him, Marlene knows because she came with rapid response from the 999 call," He counted it off on his hands, "Lily knows because she showed up with Harry in the middle of it all, now her and Pandora have to look after him for an extra night, me and Remus know because Marls called us while you were driving to the hospital, and Mary knows because she's been treating you here."

"Why are all your friends doctors?"

"Regulus, your a doctor."

"Shit job." Sirius rolled his eyes.

"If you want James I can swap with him."

"Not right now. I don't know what I'd say to him."

"Sorry would be a start."

"I don't know why I did it. I wasn't thinking James was just pressuring me and they were there and I just did it."

"But why were they there, Reg? That's what everyone wants to know right now. It wasn't Testosterone or a chemist bought pill. Where'd you get them?"

No answer, Sirius sighed and said, "Just answer this, did you have them because you were planning something?"

Silence. Then, "James wasn't supposed to be around."

Sirius felt tears welling in his eyes, "You should have told someone Reg."

"I didn't know how."

"Just say, 'Hey James, I'm not feeling good can you help me?' and he would. Or tell me even."

"Easy for you to say."

"Your pride, Regulus. Get over it." Regulus smiled slightly his eyes still closed.

"Wanna know what me and Moony did today?"

"Hmm?"

"Went to the kids home. There's this girl there, her names Maisy and she has lycanthropy, she's an Abbott too, magical family, you know Louisa Abbott? I think she works with Lucius, its her kid and-"

Sirius plunged into a detailed explanation of Maisy and eventually Regulus fell asleep, soft smile still playing on his lips. Sirius fell asleep too.
