Strong Pull
Junyoung pulled a face, before looking to the only culprit in the vehicle.
Watching as the new alpha pulled the cigarette from between his lips, and exhaling a stream of smoke. He inquired, a little annoyed, "Do you have to smoke that in here?"
At this, Jisung looked to him. Staring at him, emotionless. Even as he pulled his cigarette back between his lips. Sucking some air in. Beside him, Jeongin was staring out the window. Having grown used to Jisung's smoking well by now. And besides, the windows were open to let some of it out. Hyunjin wasn't too fond of it, himself. And Minho? He had very mixed emotions. He would close his eyes, and inhale the smoke. Though he knew it was bad for even his own health, he couldn't stop it. He associated that smell with Jisung, now. And it was driving him insane. Already his brain frying. Conjuring all the hot moments they could have. One day. Maybe. After a moment, Jisung replied, "Afraid so." He gestured, "Inne here can tell you, I smoke it to the very smallest of blunts."
Jeongin nodded, though he didn't look to either of them, "He likes finishing his cigarettes once he starts them. Even if he's in the middle of a fight."
Junyoung hummed, unimpressed and looking away, "Then, at least smoke towards the open windows. Not all of us can tolerate it like you and Jeongin can."
Jisung snorted, even as Jeongin smirked, "I barely tolerate it."
Jisung smirked, even as he gently pulled the cigarette from between his lips again. Reaching over Jeongin, and flicking it. Sending the dying ashes on the wind as they drove back to Mokpo, and it's survivor base. As he pulled his arm and the cigarette back, his red gaze flickered to the gorgeous omega in the passenger seat. And while he was sorely tempted to put his blunt out for the time being, he found he couldn't. Not yet. The omega didn't appear too put off by his smoking. But, maybe he was just tired. The adrenaline rush from earlier bleeding from him. Leaving him exhausted. And he had to admit, the omega was truly something.
As he drew another drag from his cigarette again, he flickered his gaze to the colorful beta-omega, "So, what's your plan for us once we get there?"
Hyunjin replied, "The five of us are going to be meeting our resident doctor. The three of us to be cleared. Then, we report to the alphas in charge. You and Jeongin will need the all clear, before you'll be given the okay to join the community. Then, you'll have to find a place to stay." Minho frowned at this. He should really mention they were pack. But he knew there was a slight issue with that. They had no more room in their pack home for two more alphas. Not until Hyunjin finally started to truly cuddle with and be with Changbin. Even then, there was going to be only one room available. Apocalypse or not, alphas still needed their private dens to themselves. Hyunjin continued, "After you're given some time to adjust, you'll meet the alphas in charge as well. And figure out what you want to contribute to the community. Everyone pulls their weight."
Jisung nodded slowly, "Works for us."
Jeongin finally asked, even though he remained looking out the open window, "How many are in your base?"
Hyunjin hummed, thinking. Before Minho willingly answered that inquiry, "About twenty or so. Mostly betas and a few alphas. Some around our age. And quite a few a bit older. I don't think they like the age of our alphas, and the fact they're in charge. Will bring the place down one day."
Jisung hummed, eyes glued to the gorgeous omega before him. Slowly, he nodded in agreement, "That's often the case. They get comfortable, forget the dangers of the world. Then, decide they want to go back to the way things were. Trouble is, there is no going back. They start to undermine the new authority, and they become zombie chow. And with the zombies set to mutate soon, that's a dangerous aspect."
Hyunjin hummed, nodding in agreement, "We're aware. And will keep vigilant."
Jisung nodded, before his eyes landed on the radio between them. They had yet to reach for it. Curious, Jisung decided to see what all happened. His gaze soon drifted back to Minho. Mesmerized still, and yearning to talk to just him. But, not here. Not with the others around. Gods above, he was so gorgeous. He was wholly unaware Minho's own eyes were feasting on him in his sideview mirror. Able to just make him out. Minho could have sighed. His chest heavy, as well as his heart. He was so handsome. While also not fond of the smoking, he couldn't exactly ask the alpha to stop. Not yet. They didn't know one another well enough for him to do so. He doubted the alpha would do it for him because he was an omega.
Slowly, they could see the walls and gates of the base coming into view. Jisung watched, waiting. But, Hyunjin had yet to reach for the radio. To inform them they were coming back. And with new wolves. He tilted his head. Had they no communications yet? He nodded slowly, he supposed he could fiddle as he saw fit. Maybe. Depended on how he felt. As soon as they were close enough, the gates opened to let them in. Quickly pulling in to a driveway of a large home. Once the vehicle was off, Hyunjin sighed and sat back, "Home at last." He groaned, "The alphas are so gonna be unhappy about what happened."
Junyoung shrugged, "Nothing they can do about it, really. Just be made aware and warned."
Hyunjin nodded, before they finally began to pile out. Hyunjin looked to them, "First, let's meet with Seungmin. Then while you two are going through your assessment with him, the three of us are going to report in." He then held his hands out, "Welcome to the Mokpo base. Still not named, but getting there."
Jisung nodded, even as he smoked once again, "Got it." He gestured with his hand, "Lead the way." Seeing as how Hyunjin was the one making all the calls. With a nod, Hyunjin turned and guided them to another building. As they drew closer to it, Jeongin snuggled closer to Jisung. Jisung looked to him, "You okay, Innie?"
Jeongin nodded, "Yeah. Just, nervous. Never been around this many wolves since my presentation. You know that."
Jisung nodded in understanding, "You'll be fine, have thus far."
Jeongin nodded, even as they finally entered the building that was clearly their little hospital. As they did, Hyunjin called, "Minnie, got you fresh meat!"
Seungmin turned, taking them in with a frown, "Wish you wouldn't call them that every time."
Hyunjin shrugged, unbothered, "Can you get the three of us done, quick? Really need to report in. Was one hell of a shitshow."
Seungmin shrugged, "Fine. You get your ass chomped in half?"
Hyunjin turned, showing it to him, "As you can see, still in tact."
Minho snorted and interjected, "Still there for Changbin to slap and want to fuck."
Hyunjin turned bright red, rounding on him, "Yah, Minho! Wish you wouldn't."
Minho shrugged, smirking in amusement. Eyes drifting to Jisung now and again. Hoping the alpha found humor as well. He seemed so serious and closed off. Seungmin rolled his eyes at their antics, "Whatever." He approached and checked all three. Making sure that any blood on them wasn't theirs, or from any wounds he needed to patch up. Or tell them to shoot and put out, because it was a bite. Satisfied, he nodded, "Alright, you three may go."
They nodded, turning to leave. Even if Minho did cast them a small last glance.
He hoped to see that alpha a lot more.
//
Seungmin sighed, watching as the three shuffled off to the pack home.
He then turned, and took in their new wolves. He frowned, seeing the nearly gone blunt in one's mouth. He pointed, "You know those aren't good for you, right?"
The alpha shrugged, "And I care, why? Trust me when I say, it's for everyone's best interests I smoke." Seungmin raised an eyebrow, not fully convinced. Jisung turned, and nodded, "You first, Innie."
Jeongin nodded, approaching the examination bed and hopping up to sit on it. Jisung stood back, watching and waiting. Arms crossed over his chest, and leaning on the wall. And peaking outside, hoping to catch another glimpse of that pretty omega. He could have sighed. Minho was something. But, would he accept Jisung as he was? Would he really be enough to help Jisung quit his blunts? He wasn't sure. He had thought his omega could. Here was his chance to find out. Seungmin approached, and began to check Jeongin over. Meanwhile, Jeongin was staring at Seungmin. Eyes wide, and clearly enraptured. He was so, pretty. Seungmin hummed, "You seem healthy enough. Aside from the clear fact it's the apocalypse." He looked to Jeongin and asked, "Have you been feeling itchy, feverish, cold, sweating, sick? Dizzy, fatigued?"
Jeongin blinked, trying to keep up with his rapid fire questions. After a moment, he shook his head and answered, "No. We were good about being bit. Just wandering, mostly."
Seungmin nodded. He turned, and began to write more on some paper he had next to him, "I always ask new wolves." He turned to him, "But I can tell you are healthy."
Jeongin nodded, getting off the bed and watching Seungmin still. Eager to get to know him better. But, not sure how to start. Not even sure what these feelings meant. He'd ask Jisung in the privacy of their new home. Jisung finally came to take his place. His blunt gone. Fully smoked through. Without warning, Jisung removed his shirt and lowered his trousers. Showing his skin for them to see. Seungmin raised an eyebrow. Jisung shrugged, uncaring, "How can you so easily trust the word of others? Liars exist, you know. And with our scent glands seemingly useless and gunked up by now, it's easier to get away with lying. Some wolves can say they were not bit, yet easily hide it for any number of reasons. Fear, or a plan. Never know. Not stripping my underwear. I ain't showing you that. But, you can see visually I am clean."
Seungmin smirked, "A bit of a smartass. But, not incorrect."
Jisung hummed, even as he finally dressed again. He then set on the table, a white bottle. Empty, obviously. And with a clear label, "You're a fresh doctor." He nodded, gesturing to some books he had nearby, "Self-taught. That's fine. Better than the dead ones out there. But perhaps you should give this a little look-see. Was a medication I was prescribed long before this all went to shit." He then put a box of cigarettes beside it, and spoke, "I fucking know smoking is bad for me. Wish I could quit, trust me you. But they are the best replacement I have for this medication." He crossed his arms, "I was diagnosed with Imbalanced Pheromonal Explosive Disorder. When I fly into a rage, I black out. Meaning I could kill someone, and never know until my rage was over. I am also classified as dangerous. So you tell me, you want me calm and pleasant? Or you want me dangerous, and killing everyone here as soon as I fly into a rage? And there is a lot that could send me down that dark path with ease. If you want calm me, you get smoking me. Until I have a good reason to quit. Until I have something, or someone who can handle me the way this medication never could."
Seungmin hummed, taking the bottle to investigate later. He was sure he's seen that in the books at one point. He spoke, "For now, I can't really stop you from smoking. Just remind you it's not healthy. Aside from smoking, you are a healthy wolf. But I do hope you can find reason to quit. Now-." He turned, writing the last of his notes, "I have to report all this to the alphas in charge. You'll get a few days to quarantine, decompress, settle in, and decide how you'll want to help this place grow. Take your time." He spoke with a nod, "Plenty of free homes around here. Even as they plan to try and expand it." Seungmin turned, "I'll see you two about."
He guided them from his medical facility, and let them go and find a house for themselves. All while heading for the pack home. As they watched him go, Jeongin looked to Jisung, "Let's go. We're finally somewhere we can truly settle down."
Jisung hummed, nodding slowly, "For now."
He turned, and guided Jisung to find a home they could claim as theirs. Thankfully, not at all far from the pack home. They now had to determine what they would like to help out with around the area. What they could be good for. At least, both would get to see their beta-alpha and omega on a much more frequent basis.
They were settling in well enough.

Chan sighed, rubbing a hand over his face.
Exhausted, and clearly unsettled by the reports. Changbin's claws were already leaving fresh marks along the desktop. Eyes focused and pinned on Hyunjin. Hyunjin shook his head, "Not sure the food and medicine is worth it anymore. I've never seen a trap like that. Not even in the old shows and movies."
Chan sighed, shoulders slumping, "Then what would be the point of having runners? There is plenty out there. I know it."
Hyunjin sighed in frustration. Minho finally interjected, "Most of our runs can be trying to find survivors. Bring them in. We were successful this time around. Got two new wolves. Alphas. And of course without them, we wouldn't be here. And until you let us go hunting, we do have few options." He looked to Hyunjin, "We've learned from this mistake."
Hyunjin sighed, "I just-."
Chan spoke softly, "I hate sending anyone out there. But we have to. Until we can get more gusty wolves in this place. Hunting isn't a priority. Which is a shame, as we'd do fine on that alone."
Minho nodded, even as Changbin looked to Junyoung, "You heard of any others willing to join the runners? Or be hunters?"
Junyoung shook his head, "Afraid not."
Chan sighed, seeming defeated. After a moment, Minho spoke softly. Using his omega crooning to soothe him a little, "We'll get there. It's only been a year. It doesn't all crop up as fast as it appears in the movies and shows. After all, those are all sets. This is real life."
Chan nodded, before he sat back, "For now, you all are dismissed. Decompress. Calm down and rest. You're home. Safe and alive." They nodded, and left the room. Leaving the two, and Seungmin. Chan turned his attention to him, "So, how's our runners and new wolves?"
Seungmin nodded slowly, "Clean." He set his report on the desk for Chan to review, "A bit rough about the edges. Unsurprising. Got one that smokes a bit. I suppose I'll have to tolerate it for a time."
Chan nodded, even as he picked up the report and began to review it. Changbin hummed, arms now crossed as he went into thought, "Didn't Minho mention to us before the meeting started that they were pack?"
Seungmin blinked, "Well, that is certainly news to me."
Chan shrugged, "He also pointed out, there's no room for them in the pack house. I guess for now, we just let them decompress. They've been wandering a year. Give them a chance to get truly settled. Then, we'll meet them. And see what we can do, and go from there. Maybe inform them we're pack. Until then, give them space." He handed the papers to Changbin to review next. He watched Seungmin, "Any concerns about these two new packmates of ours you have, Minnie?"
Seungmin shook his head, "Not really. While I'd love for the smoking to stop, nothing comes to mind."
Chan nodded, "Very well. Anything else you wish to discuss?"
Changbin snorted, "So down to business."
Chan looked to him, "This is important, Binnie. Besides, you know we have more calm pack like conversations at dinner."
Changbin nodded, "True."
Seungmin shook his head, "Not at this time. I'll see you both for said dinner."
They nodded, even as he turned and left the pack home for his medical facility once more. So, he'd just met two of his pack. Fair enough. He did brief a glimpse to see where they may have wandered off to. A soft smirk came to his lips, seeing them in the empty home beside the pack house. At least they were close by. It was clear Jisung didn't trust too easily. Already locking everything up. He didn't blame him. Seems Seungmin had some diagnoses to brush up on.
It was a nice shake up to their day.
