Left For Dead

He could confidentially say, he did not really like Taeil.

Nor the pack he'd accumulated. But, they were the only survivors he was okay being around. For a while. But as the days dragged into months, and slowly changed season he was changing his mind. He did not like their attitude towards certain individuals. They had always left a bitter ashy taste in his mouth. But, he saw no reason to leave their pack for the foreseeable season or two. He had made a decision as the leaves began to fall, and the temperatures began to plumet. He would stay with their group, until after winter. Then, he'd go off on his own. Taking whatever he had with him. Including his cane.

What he hadn't anticipated, was her.

She had long flowing, and soft black hair. She looked pretty enough. While she did nothing for him in terms of interest of much degree, he did find her intriguing. She was a beta-alpha, and had some spunk to her. Spunk, he found he was rather fond of. And while he truly appreciated her sass and her fierce determination, he cared more about getting her out of the situation they were in. He wished their meeting had been under slightly better circumstances. Zombie apocalypse aside, their meeting was less than favorable. Taeil's goons of alphas had snagged her during one of their many runs. Dragging her back, clearly against her will. Anything with a pair of breasts and legs that produced even the minutest of slick, was clearly a welcome target.

He had to unfortunately witness, as she was harshly thrown into a small room. Clearly, a prison cell for her. And he knew the rolling feeling in his gut as to what they planned to do with her. He knew that many wolves would abandon morals and turn to a life of selfish indulgences. But he could not understand why some so easily and eagerly, turned to raping for pleasure. He did not know when her trauma would start, but he would do what he could to delay it. If he could delay it long enough, he could find a way to help her get out. And maybe, he'd take her with him instead.

Despite what he knew they had brought her in for, they were clearly waiting for just the right moment to start their pleasures with her. But they were making sure she was defenseless and weak. Ensuring she knew what fate awaited her. But he still could not tell what they were waiting for. He really didn't want to know. However, he just wanted to make it through winter. Hopefully, she did as well. Then, he was taking her with him. He was quick to discover just why they had yet to rape her. They used her as a shield. Ensuring a place was zombie free, after they took out what they found. He could have sworn his heart could not take it. Fearing for her. And while he tried to stop them by jolting in attempt to be with her, he did not. Something held him back.

He was glad she survived up through to winter.

When winter came, they cared more about making it to spring. And that was when he figured out just why they were waiting to take her without consent. Spring was often a more "fruitful" time for any with slick. To become a little more sexually active. Having longer periods of estrus. And while he was certain this pack wasn't aiming to have pups, they may want one for a start. Solidify their pack, and ensure she was forever chained to them. Forced into becoming a pup mill for them. And the idea made his stomach churn. And with spring being the best time to attempt pups as opposed to the rest of the year, he knew that was precisely why they were waiting to strike.

His time, was limited.

He had to figure out a way to free her, and run with her. Maybe, they could be a pack of two. Even as he searched for his own pack. Maybe, he could provide her safety and security. She seemed to see he wasn't like the others. Worried for her. Showing care. He was often the one that fed her. Ensuring the others weren't rough with her. Then again, Taeil suspected he wouldn't just indulge the way the rest of the pack obviously would. Suited him just fine. The two rarely spoke with one another. No introductions. Nothing. Merely his silent promise, he'd try to get her out of this pack and situation. That they would leave together, if she could just hold out and keep her defiance strong.

It was during one of the last times he fed her before their inevitable escape, he finally got some information out of her. As he set the tray down gently before her, he spoke, "If I'm going to take you with me and save you from their plans, I need to know who I am traveling with."

She hummed, softly eating her rice. Before she looked to him, "Haneul. Choi Haneul. I'm glad you're going to get out. You don't seem like an alpha meant to follow. You're a leader. Taeil's got more muscle than you. So fighting him for position would be useless. But venturing on your own and forming your own pack, that's what you deserve."

He smirked, nodding, "Nice to meet you, Haneul. I'm Kim Hongjoong." He then showed her his cane, "I doubt they'll be happy when we leave. They will come after me first. Be as fast as you can. Take this with you. Mostly for your own protection. But if we happen to met again, I know it will be safe with you. Until you can return it to me."

She nodded, even though she was determined to not flee too far from him. She'd stick with him for a while. He felt like the safer choice. And besides, it was safer to be with another survivor at this time. Rather than alone. Still, she'd honor his request, "Okay. Best of luck, Hongjoong."

He nodded, and left their conversation at that.

//

He supposed he had a small advantage, being the one on duty that night.

Along with one other.

But he was far from concerned with him at such a time. Silently, he crept into her small prison cell. Changed to have a cot. They were getting ready for their disgusting plans. He hurried to her, handing her his cane. He hissed softly, "They'll wake soon. Would have done this sooner, but I'm not taking a chance at night. The zombies may have mutated by now. Why take the chance? Taeil likes to stay around zombie infested zones. He likes the killing. And considering he won't mind raping you-." He shrugged, "You can bet what type of pack he's making. You promised to take my cane with you. Do so. I'll give you a head start. Run. And do not ever look back. Stay safe. And I hope I meet you again some day."

Haneul nodded, not telling him of her own plan. Sure, she would run. Make sure these stupid pea brained alphas could not catch her a second time. But she would still linger. Keep an eye out for Hongjoong. Make sure he got his cane back. They'd travel together for a bit. Until she felt it was her time to go back off on her own. Make for a safe zone she could trust. She knew they were starting to crop up. Survivors making for certain areas. And making communities.

She had to also wonder, how San was doing. If he'd made it out. If he was surviving. If he was with a pack now. Or in a safe zone. She had very little doubt in her mind that her younger fighter alpha brother, hadn't made it out on day zero. He was too good to die. Then again, some were that way from the start. And still perished early. But she knew her Sannie. He would have never given up. It wasn't his style. She hoped to one day find him. If she was fortunate. See how he was doing. Had he found a mate, yet? She was curious. But not enough, to risk trying to sniff him out. She had faith if they were to cross paths again, it would happen naturally.

Once the cufflink around her ankle was unfastened, Hongjoong gently helped haul her to her feet. He turned, and guided her out. Making quick and light footwork. Heading for an exit she could take. After checking the coast was relatively clear, Hongjoong nodded to her. His voice low, "Get going. I'll be right behind."

She nodded, and took off. His cane in her fierce grip. While San had been the fighter, she was no slouch herself. Her alpha temperament coming in clutch at this point. Hongjoong remained in the doorway. Watching. Ensuring she was far enough away, before he'd make his own escape. He wished Haneul luck. And felt his heart begin to gallop. He just knew, this would end terribly for him. But at least he'd proven he was what a real alpha was. He turned to look back. Seeing the pack beginning to stir. Once the first sat up, he slipped outside himself. He softly closed the door behind him, and waited. After a long enough wait, he heard a clearly furious roar. That was his cue. He took off. Bolting as fast as he could. Wishing he could turn skin, and run faster that way. But such an ability had never been easy for city dwelling wolves. Having forgotten how to do so.

He ran

He ran, even as his lungs burned. And he knew, they were in pursuit. They'd make him pay. That was fine. If he died having ensured they couldn't hurt Haneul, he would be okay with that. While he could not help any others that fell into his filthy claws, he could make sure one was safe. And just as he had predicted, he was easily happened upon. Their claws and fangs ripping into his flesh without mercy. He did not scream in pain. He held it in. Defiant, and growling. Showing he would not beg for mercy. Nor did he have regret. He was making his stance on them clear. He would rather die, then continue with the likes of them. Even as they tore his right arm from him, and his right leg. Pieces of his torso, and an ear. Even his eye and jaw fell to their vengeance. But, he still did not let them know his pain. He merely glared at Taeil. Wishing the worst on him for the way he was turning out. Once they were finished, he was on the long abandoned road. Bleeding out, and passing out.

Taeil growled, "Should have just left without worrying about that bitch, Hongjoong. Leave him for the zombies. They'll appreciate the meal. Let's get going."

With that, they turned and left. Not so much after Haneul. But to move on. Migrating to a new location for whatever reasons they had. Mattered little. He lay there. Bleeding and fading. Willing to go, even if he'd never found his pack and mate. He'd saved one of Pangloss's daughters. He was satisfied with that. Maybe the earth god would actually welcome him wholly, and not reanimate him as a walking corpse. A good deed going rewarded, rather than punished.

Who was to really say, for him?

//

Haneul had remained hidden and silent.

Clutching the cane tight and fierce. Waiting, listening. Wanting to ensure Taeil and his goons were long, long gone. Only when she felt insanely sure they were long gone, she looked to see what had become of Hongjoong. Her heart did sink. Seeing his blood coloring the streets. She bit her bottom lip, even as she slowly made her way towards him. No zombie yet was stumbling their way. But if they caught the scent of his blood, they'd come. She came to kneel beside him. Uncertain how to save his life. She reached out to take his remaining left arm. Ensuring he had his cane, even if he were to leave this plane of existence. Just as she did, her ears perked. She looked up, and saw three wolves headed in their general direction.

She blinked, curious. Tilting her head. And while she should be worried and scattering, she didn't. Something in her told her these wolves, were the good ones. They must have only just noticed her. For the rather pretty male omega suddenly bolted. Leaving the two alphas behind. Coming to her clear aid. Oh, she was so fortunate she had been the unfortunate prisoner of Taeil. If he had seen this omega, he'd have started raping him immediately. Omegas didn't really need a special season to get pupped. While spring was still the ideal time for any and all to get pupped, omegas could with ease any time of year.

Male omegas in particular, could do so even outside of cycles.

He came to kneel beside Hongjoong across from her. His eyes boring into her, "Are you okay?"

She waved his concerns off, "I'm alight. A bit shaken, but in tact. My friend here ensured that."

The omega's gaze drifted down. Taking in the bleeding torso before him. He then reached out, and put his hands on his chest. He then began, chest compressions. She shook her head, "I don't think that will save him."

He spoke, shaking his head, "Not meant to save him. Meant to keep his heart pumping and going." He turned and called to one of his companions, "Yeosangie! You're a doctor now. Here's you chance to save someone."

Both alphas hurried at last. Having worried for him, but keeping a distance in case they were to just move on. As both came to the three of them, the omega looked to the one he'd called for, "I don't know what you can do for his missing body parts. But, you have to save him." He reached a blood soaked hand out, and clutched his alpha's tank top, "He's our pack! I don't need to look but one small glance to know this. Just as I did Mingi. Trust your only omega, and your mate."

Yeosang sighed. He gently came to kneel beside him, and spoke as he started doing deeper chest compressions, "We keep his heart pumping for now, Wooyoung. After that, we'll need to move. I can't do jack shit out here. It's too cold and dirty. I need him somewhere a little more sterile and stable. Protection. His blood's calling those zombies this way. We can't stay in the open. Once I am satisfied he can make it, we will find somewhere. Get out of this area first. It gives me the fucking creeps."

Haneul nodded, "Should. Bad pack around these parts. Taeil and his. They did this to him. All for helping me get out before they could make me their sex toy, and pup mill."

Yeosang nodded, "Thanks for the heads up. Like hell I'll let them get near my omega." He turned to the tall one bent over them, "You'll have to carry him, Mingi. Woo, you and-"

He nodded to her. She jolted, instantly introducing herself to Hongjoong's new pack, "Hanuel. I'm Choi Haneul."

Yeosang nodded, "You and Haneul will have to do chest compressions. Try and tie the loose ends of his pants and shirt, to try and stem the bleeding. We have to move. And fast."

With a nod of agreement, the tall one named Mingi picked him up with relative ease. Wooyoung and Haneul were quick to tie the ends of where his missing limbs were, to stem some of the bleeding. As Wooyoung began his best chest compressions, he asked, "What about his face? I know much can't be done for his ear, but he's missing half a jaw."

Yeosang slowly nodded, before he tore of the sleeve from his left arm. And pressed it into his jaw, "Best we can do in this situation. Let's get going."

With a nod, the four carded Hongjoong off. Heading out of the small town, and for a place Yeosang could try and save his life. As they went, he and Mingi went into a small conversation. It would seem the doctor and the mechanic would be working together, to save Hongjoong's life.

They hurried, to bring their captain back to them all.
