So it’s like 6th year in Hogwarts and the gang is together all friends and such.
Anyway Mary and Sirius get together, it’s a bit of a shock because everyone kinda suspected Sirius had a crush on Remus.
Remus is obviously jealous of Mary but accepts it because he sees that Mary makes Sirius happy and he’d rather suffer in silence if he knows Sirius is happy than tell anyone how he feels (he’s very aware of his crush).
Sirius is really just confused because he feels things for Remus but also hasn’t figured out what and is still very much in denial of being bisexual so he kind of dates Mary to convince himself that he doesn’t like men (Remus). And Mary accepts it because she also hasn’t figured out she bisexual (bisexual power couple btw) and she thinks Sirius is really attractive so yeah that’s that.
They date for a few months like 3 or so ? Doesn’t matter really but then the reason they break up is because Mary became aware of her sexuality (Sirius had like a few feminin sides to him so she realises that she actually kind of likes those feminine things about him and basically he’s her gay awakening) and confronts him about it and she tells him she wants to figure it out more and also wants to date women and she doesn’t really sees a future with Sirius.
Sirius is okay with this because (he doesn’t know why) but he doesn’t feel that sad about this break up and then Mary telling him she likes girls sends him into this realisation that people can like the the same gender (Mary literally set the first stone to his gay awakening, I love her for it <3) and he has like a kind of crisis about it.
Anyway they remain really close because Mary suspects he also likes dudes and she cares for him so she helps him with his crisis and tell him it okay to like people with the same gender
(the reason Mary is the first one to know and not James is because Sirius is afraid of losing another brother even though technically he knows James would never do something to him but also he’s still not over regulus so he has these kind of problems).
And then eventually Mary convinces Sirius to tell James because she knows they are literally soulmates. And James accepts him for it and tells Sirius he’s pansexual.
Anyway fast forward (it’s the beginning of 7 year) Mary has dated a Hufflepuff girl (a bit on and off thing with her) but they broke up before summer break because they realised they don’t really love each other anymore and only really started dating because they were the only queer people they knew and wanted to experience what it was like.( Sirius and Marlene and lily help her come to this realisation).
Sirius realises he loves Remus but still doesn’t really do anything about it because he thinks Remus doesn’t like him back ( they get together eventually but it takes a bit of time) and Marlene and Dorcas get together so basically Dorcas friend group and Marlene’s friend group spend more time together and Mary meets Pandora and thinks she’s really pretty and interesting to talk to (James also meets regulus but this is about Mary not Jegulus so it’s not the focus)
And it’s a refreshing change of pace for her so they get really close during seventh year and meet twice a week to talk and they realise they like each other and get together somewhere around Halloween -Christmas.
It’s way more mature because girls are just more open to talk about their feelings (side eyes Wolfstar HARD) and so they date for a while like 4 months? but the war is approaching and Pandora tells Mary that she is afraid and doesn’t think she can fight in this war, and she plays with the idea of moving away after graduating (it’s still in the future because Pandora is a year below her but she’s really attuned to how she feels so she already knows what she is gonna do)(also don’t hate Pandora okay ? Not everyone can deal with the war and is okay with possibly dying) .
And Mary is hurt by this because she will fight but also doesn’t blame Pandora because she know war is difficult for everyone and knows just how scared Pandora is about conflict and accepts that Pandora would be better off not fighting this war.
It’s the end of the year and they both agree that even though the love each other it’s better to break up because Mary will join the order and Pandora has still one year ahead of Hogwarts and she will visit some distant relatives in the USA for summer break and if she likes it there she’ll move to the USA after school and this is just too much for either of them to handle and so they part like the mature women they are and go their own ways.
Of course Mary is hurt by their break up but knows deep down it’s for the better and she has Marlene, lily, Sirius and Remus to help her with the post break up stuff.
Remus and her became friends after Sirius and Remus finally became a couple and since Sirius and Mary are still close friend, Remus and Mary have also become buddies and the girls and Remus had like a little study group where they learnt for newts together and so they have become really close in the last few months.
Anyway war is right around the corner and they all have agreed to fight with the order and so they had all their hands full with war stuff (I’m not going into detail because I myself don’t know half of what is going on in the war)
And then Dorcas and Marlene die and it’s a wake up call basically to the rest of them where thy realise they are not just kids playing war but it’s actually real and people can die and stuff and it’s generally really hard for them because they were the first to die of this little group and now there will always be a hole where Dorcas and Marlene were.

On a side note jegulus happened in seventh year and lily was kind of establishing a crush on James since the ending of sixth year and had been pining for him for a while. But then regulus broke up with James somewhere during the end of seventh year because they are on different sides of war and he has to focus on finding and destroying the horcruxes.
Obviously James is devastated and hurt and it takes him a while to accept it but after Dorlene die Lily comforts him and they grow close and slowly James reestablishes feelings for her.
Lily obviously handled herself like a queen during seventh year and when James told her of the break up she didn’t immediately jump him because she has some self respect and didn’t want to be used by James but it was still painful knowing James was finally single but still having to hold herself back but the after their death because she cares for James she comforted her and because she smart she realised that James is finally over regulus so she tries her luck and they get together!! They kept it slow for a while but they moved together and plan on building a family in the future (Harry !!).

Anyway back to Mary because this is about her, during this time the war is really taking a toll on her and she never quite recovers from Marlene and Dorca’s deaths.
she distances herself from her friends a bit but still fights in the war and talks to them.
The Jily wedding happens and she goes but she finds it hard pretending to be okay and normal after her life literally turned upside down.
She congratulates them on the birth of Harry and it’s this moment where she realises that life still goes on and kind of gets herself together again, for Harry, and she reemerges into the others life again
(she never really broke up contact with them but she wasn’t as present as the rest)
And she and Lily grow really close again since they are now the only girls in their group. And she and the rest of the group how to the pub regularly to talk and it really heals her again so she plays an important role in their lives again.
But then Peter betrayed them and James and lily die and the war ends. But she can’t be happy about that because she just found herself again only to get ripped to pieces so soon after so she returns back to where she was just ten times worse.

Somewhere around that point Pandora moves back to England, she met a man overseas and got pregnant (LUNA!!)
He agreed read to move to England because Pandora loves this island and even though she went to the USA she wants to raise their child in the uk and allow her to go to Hogwarts.
When luna is born she dies in childbirth. So Xenophilius has to take care of their child alone but honors her wish of luna going to Hogwarts.

Sirius is in prison and that also really breaks mary because she and Sirius had something together (very platonic) and she can’t talk to him anymore.
So she breaks off contact to Remus because she can’t look him in the eyes anymore because she’s hurting too much and can’t handle being reminded of all those who died. And by the first Christmas alone without her friends she can’t do it anymore and obliviates herself of the memories.
She also forgets that she’s a witch. (T-T)
After that she lives a relatively normal life for a while.
She moves back in with her parents for a while because her flat makes her sad (she can’t remember why), goes to a muggle evening school and gets a degree so that she can go to university and become a teacher.
She meets a few people in college but she doesn’t become close with any of them. (She is searching for the marauders but doesn’t realise it so she can’t help it and distances herself the moment they become to close) her Heart has a hole in it that she can’t really seem to close and she doesn’t remember why it’s even there.
Eventually she starts working in an elementary school in London,where she meets a colleague and they hit it off instantly. She really enjoys talking to him and with him she feels like part of this hole is filled.
Not fully, there are still days where she aches for something she doesn’t remember but even then he is by her side and helps her get over those periods of sadness. She clings to him like he a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean. He makes her feel normal again and sometimes she doesn’t even remember something is supposed it be missing.
he proposes to her. And she accepts.
They have a quiet wedding and not many people are there because she still struggles with making meaningful connections. But for him she tries.

During this time Remus finds it hard adjusting to life without Sirius but he manages, and after a while his life start to become normal again, he doesn’t find someone else because nobody is even close to comparing to Sirius. And he accepts it.
But he feels the need to talk to someone about all of it and the only person who knows what happened is Mary (he doesn’t know she obliviated herself) so he goes searching for her and when he finds her he realises she has no idea who he is, and it hurts because now he really is the only one.
But still it’s good to talk with Mary again even though she can’t remember anything. so they set up a meet in a coffee shop close to the school she works in.
Mary finally feels like she’s whole again but doesn’t know what some stranger has to do with it (Remus doesn’t tell her because he accepts her decision) but she feels relaxed with him and there is a sort of familiarity between them that makes it easy to talk to him.
They meet regularly (once a month) in her favourite coffee shop and talk about anything that comes to mind.
She tells him that she has a kid and after a year of this arrangement Remus tells her he is starting a job at a private school in Scotland and tells her he can’t meet her much anymore and she says it’s okay. They promise to meet again for his break in winter.
POA happens and he and Sirius get back together, and after they figure their things out Remus tells him about Mary and that she obliviated herself.
Sirius is mad at her but not because he hates what she’s done but because he can totally understand why she did it and during his time in Azkaban he also wanted to obliviate himself because the memories hurt too much but he couldn’t because then he would forget Remus as well and he’s literally the only good thing to happen to him.
He hates Mary for doing the thing he wanted to do for a long time but he also wouldn’t change his decision because being together with Remus again is the best thing and he wouldn’t trade it for the world.
So he tells Remus that he cant meet Mary again but he is okay with Remus continuing their little friendship.
Remus tells him everything about Mary, how she’s doing that she has a kid and about her husband and he tells Mary that he met his childhood boyfriend and that they are together again. And everytime after Remus goes to meet Mary he and Sirius sit down and Remus tells him what they talked about.
Mary doesn’t push Remus to meet him because some part of her realises Sirius doesn’t want to meet her (she doesn’t understand why but accepts it nonetheless)

when Remus and Sirius die in the second wizard war she doesn’t realise it at first but when Remus doesn’t show up to their planned meeting she gets suspicious.
She writes him a few letters but never gets an answer. After a few weeks she remembers that Remus told her his address a few months and she first to his house. She doesn’t find him there and some part about her knows that he is gone.
She doesn’t accept it at first but after the second month without him turning up at the coffee shop she realises she has no choice but to accept it that Remus probably died. (she never gets the closure she deserves :,(
She breaks down and not even her husband can comfort her. She’s longing for her friendship Remus but also for more that she can’t really grasp. She griefs not just for Remus but for all the marauders again because some part of her still remembers them and Remus dying brought back that pain she forgot she even had.
In the end she can’t take it anymore and her husband has to help her get professional support so she doesn’t do something bad (like killing her self (poor Mary having to grief all of their deaths a second time because her subconsciousness remembered the things she obliviated after Remus died <\3))
she lives on but there will always be a part of her that is missing. She accepts it since there is nothing she can do but live on. (Her subconsciousness doesn’t allow her to die because she has to life her life to the end because of all her friends who died to early she is the only one who lived past 40 and she feels a sort of obligation to live on)
