Ya know, I wanted to write TakaMori in some capacity. Never in my life did I think it’d be this.

Chapter 1

“Fuck you! Both of you! Fucking assholes!”

There was shouting. A girl, specifically. The voice was of her friend. Her best friend.

“You are such a disappointment! A waste of space! I can’t believe we ever put up with you!”

She also managed to recognize the voice of her friend’s parents, their hurtful and uncaring words ringing through her ears despite being deafened by glass windows. She sank deeper into the bush she was shrouded by in some pitiful attempt to hide, pushing the palms of her hands against her eyes at the same time to deafen the noise.

“I thought I could trust you!”

Those words from her friend signaled the end of their shouting contest, if the stomping echoing against the wooden floor was of any indication. She heard the door to the mansion swing open not long after, her head swiveling quickly to find her friend.

There, in all her glory as a star amongst the people of Earth, defying the black of the night sky…

Was a pink haired girl.

“Calli…?”

Her best friend.

“Kiara?”

The girl who when alerted by her weak, hoarse voice, began to search the area until her burning crimson eyes landed on her own orange hair peeking out from the green of vegetation.

“Calli…”

The girl who immediately ran over to her and scooped her out of the shrubbery into an embrace, holding her tight as if she would crumble into a million pieces without the reinforcement.

“Kiara… I didn’t think you’d be over tonight…”

Despite the comfort of strong arms tethering her to reality and bringing her a joyful warmth, she couldn’t help but break down into a mixture of laughter and tears.

“M-Me neither…!”

Her friend began to pat her back as she covered her face with her hands, trying so desperately to hide from the world.

“D-Did… they…”

The act of her burying her face into the shoulder of her friend became answer enough.

And that was how they stayed, for a bit. She didn’t know when, but they at one point lowered down to sit on the ground, the comforting hands of her friend guiding her to lean against the walls of what was previously her home. Silence seemed to reign over the atmosphere, both parties afraid to speak after the events of the day

However, if she knew her friend for anything, it was that she doesn’t lie down and die.

“Kiara.”

The mention of her name caused her to peek out from her makeshift pillow that was her friend’s shoulder and meet her gaze, those eyes holding a fiercer determination than she’s ever seen before.

“Let’s run away.”

And so they did. “Hand in hand, partners and friends forever,” they said. “We can take on anything,” they hoped. It was a spur of the moment decision for the duo. But, they were just teenagers.

A laboratory. Needles poking at their every nerve.

They were just teenagers.

Searing pain flaring across their whole body with no moment of reprieve.

They were just teenagers.

Shouting.

“They’re just teenagers!”

So much shouting.

“THEY’RE JUST TEENAGERS!-“
