James left through the floo for a moment, before returning a few minutes later with a piece of parchment and a silver dagger. He placed both in front of Hermione, who had moved to sit beside Sirius rather than in his lap.

"Alright, give me your finger." James said, an excited grin on his lips as he held the dagger up.

"Do you honestly expect me to give you a body part, when you have that grin on your face and a knife in your hand? You're as crazy as you look then." Hermione stated bluntly.

The guys laughed, before James swiftly picked up her hand and pressed the tip of the blade into her finger, tilting it so the blood would flow from her finger onto the parchment. When he released her hand, she stuck her bleeding finger into her mouth, silently casting a healing charm. Everyone gathered around and watched as her blood slowly morphed from a puddle, into lines and names. First was hers, then a line connecting her to two others, Dorea and Flemmont Potter. Another line dropped down next to hers, to reveal a name. James Potter. Below the brief family tree was a list of her births.

"It rewrote each time you've traveled." Remus whispered in awe.

"Magic." Hermione whispered, absently rubbing at the wound on her arm. Everyone's eyes flew to her movement, narrowing in distain.

"Mum and dad are going to be so happy when we tell them." James jumped in, grinning from ear to ear. His son was born only a few days before, and he knew this was going to be a day he'd never forget.

Something flashed through Hermione at his words, her body tensing, as if preparing for an attack. They all watched as she closed in on herself, shuffling further away from Sirius as she did.

"What happened?" Sirius asked softly.

"Nothing." She responded immediately, her eyes bouncing between everyone.

"No, you went somewhere. Where did your brain go?" He asked again.

"It's nothing." She said, moving to stand slowly. "Where's your bathroom?"

"Down the hall, on the right." Remus said, watching her closely.

She nodded her thanks, and slowly wobbled to the bathroom, the lock clicking into place behind her.

”What do you think it was?” James asked.

Sirius glanced towards the hall, thinking for a moment before something clicked. “Your parents.”

James shot him a puzzled look. “What do you mean?”

”Hermione mentioned that after you died, Harry went to Petunia. Not once in the journal or in the photo album, do they mention Fleamont or Dorea. She just lost everything she knew, is now confirmed the long lost Potter Daughter, and will most likely lose her other parents just when she’s getting to know them.” Remus explained, catching onto what Sirius had figured out.

”Mum and dad would have immediately gotten custody of Harry if neither of you could take him. So something happens between now and a year on Halloween.” James said with a sad sigh.

“She doesn’t like Dumbledore. Doesn’t trust him. If anything, I bet it was him.” Lily spoke up with a sigh of her own.

The room shifted uncomfortably at her words, each of them having a different opinion on their former headmaster. Hermione emerged a few minutes later, looking better, but the red in her eyes showed that she was indeed crying.

”So I’m a Potter. Great. Just great. Reckless plans run in the family then.”
