By starlight i'll kiss you

Up the stairs, escape everyone.

Close the door, take a deep breath.

Harry sat down with the blanket and pillow he'd brought from the fifth year boys' dormitory. He sat at the door. not ready to walk in the room yet, scared someone would come in and interrogate him again.

'How are you doing?'

'Can I do anything to help?'

'Do you want to play chess?'

'Do you want to talk about it?'

He checked the time. 22:37 June 20th 1996.

It had been two days since his godfather had died.

2 days since Sirius Black left Harry Potter.

Harry took another deep breath and stood up, placing his blanket and pillow as a makeshift bed right next to the door, to not be too far away in case he needed to flee.

Why would he need to flee? Harry didn't know. He didn't care much either, he just needed to be ready. Just in case.

"You're not really planning on sleeping here, are you? Merlin, Potter. We have dormitories for a reason. Or did your stupid Gryffindor friends finally decide to abandon you?''

Harry jumped, turning around with his wand in hand, ready to attack. Malfoy. Harry didn't know why the realisation it was just Malfoy soothed him slightly, but he didn't let his guard down that easily. "what do you want Malfoy?" He sneered. Gods, did his voice sound like that before?

"Calm down, Scarhead. I'm not going to attack you. Just stargazing. you know, people do that sometimes instead of standing around looking stupid." The blonde shot back, though it felt a lot less biting than the usual comments he made. Harry slowly lowered his wand. Why did he do that? He cautiously made his way over to the Slytherin.

"I know that, I'm just- wait, I'm not stupid!" Harry couldn't find his words. What was happening?

"Right" Malfoy sounded unsure. "what did I say about standing and looking stupid? sit down, I won't bite" Harry thought Malfoy's words sounded less and less like insults. "By the way, if it means anything coming from me, I'm sorry about your godfather. It's a shame, really" That caught Harry off guard. "Malfoy- what?" He tripped over his words, unsure of how to react. "The last Black heir. I mean, there's still my aunt Bella, and of course my mom, but they're not real heirs." Malfoy sighed before continuing "I still can't believe my aunt would do that. I knew she was crazy, but her own cousin? That's another level. though I suppose I don't really know how her brain works either"

Harry felt like he saw a whole other version of his nemesis for the past 5 years, he looked so vulnerable in the moonlight, absentmindedly gazing up into the cloudy sky. 'He looks almost ethereal' Harry thought, carefully watching the other boy. "Oh" was all the brunette managed to say, not really knowing what to make of the situation.

Luckily, he didn't have to, as Malfoy continued talking, changing to a lighter subject. "Too bad Sirius' star isn't visible this time of year. would've been awfully poetic, don't you think?'' He looked at harry, a hint of a smile on his face.

"Star?" Harry asked. Sirius had a star?

He expected Malfoy to give a seething reply , 'Of course you don't know that, do you even know anything at all?' But he didn't. "Yeah, the brightest star in the sky. Almost all the Blacks have star inspired names." He let out a light chuckle at that, a beautiful sound that made Harry feel like he could cast a Patronus from it.

"My name is also a constellation, you know? Since I am technically a black, after all" Draco murmured, not looking away from the sky.

"what do you mean?"

"Draco. Draconis. The dragon constellation. It's right there" He pointed somewhere in the sky, Harry hadn't the faintest clue which stars he was supposed to look at, too mesmerised by Draco and the way he looked like he was glowing in the pale moonlight. 'Draco... When had he gone from Malfoy to Draco?' Harry asked himself in the back of his mind, but too focused on the boy next to him to really care. "Draco..." He whispered. Draco finally looked at him again, making Harry feel like flying. He flushed, when did they get this close? Draco's eyelashes fluttered shut for a mere second, just long enough to make Harry's stomach do a few flips. Neither of them knew who leaned in first, but their lips were almost touching now. Harry faintly registered the blonde closing his eyes, for real this time, before their lips connected.

They both gasped lightly when their lips connected, electricity running trough them at an unimaginable speed. It felt magical, but it wasn't until Draco put his hands in Harry's hair that Harry was sure, this was a high he didn't want to get down from. He carefully cradled Draco's face, scared to to too much, or to break this moment like glass.

Is this okay? Am I good enough for you? He wanted to ask, but those thoughts were quickly forgotten when Draco pulled his hair almost roughly, forcing a small whimper to escape from his throat. Draco's lips and hands felt like heaven, Harry never wanted to leave. Gathering all his willpower, he pulled away from the other boy, who whined quietly at the loss of contact, before Harry latched onto his neck. The pale skin tasted so much like Draco, but Harry couldn't make sense of what that meant. Licking and sucking at Draco's throat, his hands exploring the blonde's hips, waist, chest. Harry pulled him into his lap, drinking up Draco's moans and whimpers as if they were the only thing keeping him alive, in that moment. Maybe they were, Harry wouldn't know. all he could think was 'Draco Draco Draco' and 'yes yes yes'.  With a happy sigh, Draco pulled his hair again, capturing his lips back into a searing kiss. Harry sucked Draco's bottom lip into his mouth, sucking and biting down softly, careful not to draw blood or hurt him. Draco licked into his mouth, and once again Harry thought it couldn't get better. The way Draco's tongue felt in his mouth was hypnotising, Harry wasn't sure how he could enjoy anything else ever again.

maybe seconds, minutes or hours went by. neither of the two boys knew. by the time they pulled apart they were both panting, poison green eyes looking into stormy grey ones. "wow" Harry managed. "you're so stupid" Draco laughed so freely, throwing his head back and Harry thought he could've floated away at that moment. Draco's smile turned into a core memory the moment he saw it, so bright the image engraved itself into Harry's brain, insisting to always be on his mind from now on. Harry thought he must've indeed looked as stupid as Draco says he is, an in-love smile on his face, bright eyes looking up at the boy he'd both hated and crushed on for so long. He gave into the urge to hug the boy, still snug in his lap. Wrapping his arms around his waist, head in the crook of his neck. Draco hugged back tightly, burying his nose in the other boy's curly hair.

They must've stayed like that for a long time, chatting about everything and nothing with dumb smiled on their faces. Until the inevitable happened. "You never said why you were planning on sleeping here, why not sleep in your dorm?" Harry tightened his grip around Draco, as if trying to anchor himself.

"I just needed some peace and quiet. People keep bothering me about Sirius and asking things from me I don't have the energy to respond to" Harry answered after a long pause.

"I understand. Can-" Draco seemed to doubt himself, so Harry smiled, hoping to encourage him. 'I want to hear everything you want to say' "Can I stay with you? I don't want to leave you here alone" Harry looked up at this boy- the boy he loved, with stars in his eyes. "yes" He breathed, kissing Draco again. It wasn't much more than their lips brushing, but it had both their minds spinning like a compass and a magnet.

When they finally fell asleep, all worries long forgotten, holding each other and smiles on their faces nothing could ruin.
