Chapter One
Isaac relayed to Derek what he'd heard on the hill. A friend of his mother's had sent some kids to Beacon Hills. There was a set of twins; fraternal boy and girl. The guy was often calming the girl...who's eyes would glow red when her emotions were high. She was frustrated. Searching for something. A fact only confirmed when he told him about what the boy told his sister to do: find her mate and worry about the Hales later. Something about following his 'scent'. And it couldn't have been Isaac as she would have reacted to his presence spying on them.
There was a blonde French girl, who was always at the twin brother's side. They called her 'Vickie' and 'Victoire'...and 'Weasley' when she made the twin girl mad. Though, the girl only gave them looks of death that would rival Peter and Derek combined. Cause it was scary for a tall girl with pastel rainbow hair and red eyes to be glaring at you. Especially with the wild magic that he'd felt rolling off of her. Off of all of them.
The girl had two younger siblings, who were also twins. It was obvious the older twins weren't related by blood, as Isaac could smell the difference in the wind...lucky he stayed down wind from them then, eh? Anyway, they called the younger twins 'Dom' and 'Lou'. He didn't know which one was which as he couldn't tell which twin the rainbow haired girl, who they called Stella or Stellatina...if you were the French trio.
(AN: yes, people live. this is an AU. Derek's current pack is Peter, Cora, Isaac, Erica, Boyd, Theo, Brett, Lori, Aiden, Ethan, Jackson and Deucalion...who is only there as he feels responsible for some of the younger 'pups').
"Stellatina?"
Derek and Isaac turned to see Peter walking in from the kitchen. Derek was glad that he'd taken the first floor (for he, Peter and Cora), while giving the rest of the pack the made over second floor.
"You remember Luna Lovegood?" Derek chuckled, "this Stella is one of her god-children likely, cause Mom said she wouldn't send kids here otherwise."
Peter snorted, shaking his head as he dropped a stack of pictures. Still photo snapshots of newspaper articles: "Potter God-Son has a twin?", "Who is Stellatina Lupin?", "Why did the Savior lie?".
"These are recent articles," He told them, not even looking up as Deucalion returned with the rest of the pups, "all about your girl there. Apparently, Luna's so-called friend Harrison and his wife lied about about the elder twin sister of their god-son Theodore Remus Lupin. Son of war-heroes Remus and Nymphadora Lupin."
Derek raised a brow, he'd grown up on his mom's stories. From the first letter from Luna, when Talia was in Junior High and Luna her first year. To all the little rumors and fantastical stories written by Rita Skeeter...up until Ginny Potter got her fired when the woman caught Ginny cheating on her husband. That was also amongst the articles, but not the most prominent to Derek's eye.
There was a knock on the door, before some silent cursing and shuffling. Then there was a different knock. Strong not light, calm and not frantic. Male and not female. The pack looked at Derek, who had no idea what to do...so he looked to his Uncle. Peter rolled his eyes, pushing away from the pillar he leaned on to go answer the door. Or he would have, if the quiet Lori hadn't of beaten him to it.
The door opened to the rainbow haired girl Isaac saw...being held by the three French siblings, who looked a little odd themselves at that moment. The male twin looked sheepish.
"Sorry," He scratched the back of his head, "my sister followed her mate's scent here..."
Derek chuckled quietly, before motioning them in. Lori had a thought and stepped aside, not realizing that as she did, she gave the rainbow haired girl a bird's eye view of her mate. Teddy turned from the confused pack and Lori...to see his sister had stopped struggling. She was just...staring. He followed her gaze, right to that of the younger brother of Talia Hale. Teddy groaned and whined.
"Why do you always get drawn to the bloody psychos, Stell?"
...
AN: these chapters may be short, but the story will be long...sometimes with longer chapters if I can manage to start writing long before close to my bed time. I kinda say the proverbial 'die' after 3:30 in the morning. That's the earliest I'll stay up willingly. // NOTE: Bedtime is usually anywhere between 10 to 11 at the earliest and 1:30 at the latest nowadays.
