Abstract
If someone were to change the ratio of sugar in a cookie recipe, would the cookie taste better, or worse? Each type of sugar has its own kind of properties depending on how it is manufactured, brown sugar for example has more of a caramel and butterscotch like taste due to the molasses added to the sugar, while white sugar on the other hand is sweeter from the lack of molasses, has a sweeter taste. If a cookie has different ratios of brown and white sugar it will taste better than the original. If someone were to test this they would need, brown and white sugar of course, ingredients for cookies, baking sheets, parchment paper, cooling rack, spatula, scale, and the cookie recipe. To complete the experiment one would need to gather the materials needed to bake the cookies, make different batches of cookies one batch each for the different of sugar ratios, label the cookies of which one has this much brown or white sugar in it, then bake the cookies, after that ten or more participants would be needed for them to taste and rate the cookies. The experiment showed that not many had a fondness for the pure white sugar cookie as only one had shown complete interest. On the other hand, the pure brown sugar cookie and the original recipe competed against each other for the best tasting cookie award. During the experiment, a few things went well, such as tasting the cookies, but one of the hard things to deal with was the sugar being even. One of the things that would be better changed is taking out the chocolate chips as it adds to the sugar and flavor, not giving a good result.
