It was a warm august day and Harry had been put to work by his cruel father. Severus stood by the doorway, watching his bratty son weed the garden and harvest ingredients. He couldn’t stand the boys attitude recently, and so to be rid of him he had banished the boy out there.
Severus continued to watch as the boy became more and more tired over the period of time he was out there. After two hours, Harry suddenly collapsed.

Harry had been exhausted all day, he’d barely slept and had only had a few bites of breakfast before being told to go and harvest the potion ingredients. He managed a full two hours before it became too much.
His vision started to blur and his throat and lips were scratchy and bone dry. He looked back towards Severus, but before he could talk, everything went black and he fell backwards. The last thing he heard was footsteps rushing towards him.

Severus watched in horror and shock as his son fell. He hadn’t the slightest clue why it happened, but he rushed over nonetheless. The boy was obviously sunburnt and his lips were dry. Goodness, didn’t the boy know he needed to hydrate and use sun cream? Was he dense?
He held the boy in his arms and carried him inside, summoning a healing balm from his private stores. He generously spread it all over the affected areas on the boys body, before grabbing a glass of water.
He held the boys parched lips open, and poured a small amount of water in. He rubbed the boys throat to help him swallow it. He gently shook Harry’s shoulder.
“Boy.. boy.. come on, wake up.” He muttered, watching as the boys eyes fluttered open.
“Drink some water, boy. You’re dehydrated.” Harry complied, gulping down the glass. His eyes closed again, he let out a deep sigh.
Severus sighed with him, god he hated the august heat sometimes.
