Sirius was sprawled out lazily on the hill that slowly sloped down to the rippling lake. Under his arm was Remus Lupin, whose head rested upon Siriusâs sweatered chest.
âI told you already, Sirius,â Remus said, his voice muffled by the shirt. âIf you borrow my jumpers again, Iâll hex you.â Sirius sat up, forcing Remus into an upright position. A small, pink line ran along the side of Remusâs cheek where it had been resting on a fold in the fabric.
âWell, letâs see it, then,â said Sirius.
âWhat?â
âYou said you would hex me if I wore your jumper again. And I did. So letâs see it.â
Remus paused for a moment before saying,
ââŚIâll do it tomorrowâ and sank back into Siriusâs chest. Sirius smirked and wrapped his arms around Remusâs back. He rested the side of his head on Remusâs hair.
âUh-oh,â groaned Sirius. âIt looks like weâd better get inside.â He pointed at the purplish-gray clouds creeping above the field. Remus felt a raindrop the size of a Galleon hit the back of his hand. The skin glistened and shined where the drop had landed. Without hesitation, he grabbed Siriusâs hand and bolted toward the giant wooden doors that led into Hogwarts. Before they could make it, however, the drops landing on the boys grew larger and larger. Pieces of grass bent under the weight of the drops and sprang up again. The soil became drenched and soaked into their shoes, and their hair and clothes lay flat against their skin. When they reached the doors, the woodâs bang resounded around the stone walls. The boysâ cloaks dripped heavily on the floor. A few students stared at them for their sudden entrance.
âQuick dry-off, perhaps?â suggested Remus, a steady drip of water falling from the end of his nose.
âI canât help but think that maybe James and Peter had the right idea spending the afternoon in the library,â Sirius chuckled.

In the dormitory, as Remus took off his own soaked cloak and trousers, he couldnât take his eyes away from the now jumper-less Sirius that stood two beds away. A wet undershirt clung to Siriusâs skin. Feeling Remusâs gaze, Sirius turned to face him. Slowly, he peeled his top off, revealing his toned abdomen. Remus dropped his clothes in a heap on the ground and hurried to Sirius. Eagerly, he pressed his lips against Siriusâs. He gripped Siriusâs overgrown hair, letting the water droplets run down the arms of his white button-up shirt. Sirius wrapped his bare arms around Remusâs waist and kissed back harder. After a moment, without pulling his lips away, Sirius took his wand from his front pocket and dragged the tip along the little grey buttons lining the middle of Remusâs shirt. The buttons unhooked themselves so that Remus could rip his shirt off and throw it on the pile that lay on the floor. The clink sound of Siriusâs belt meeting the floor and his zipper being undone rang around the room. With a soft thud, his trousers were thrown on his trunk.
Just as Remus and Sirius were headed to Siriusâs bed, a loud crack exploded in their ears. Remus screamed.
âWhat the fuck?!â shouted Sirius, who scrambled for a dry shirt. He threw on a striped red and gold tee and turned to the petite house elf that was now staring at the two of them with wide, hazel eyes. Remus pulled up the cloak that lay in a heap in the ground and wrapped it around himself. His face was frozen in shock.
âPlease do not be alarmed!â squealed the elf.
âToo late for that,â muttered Sirius, who was pulling on a pair of dry black trousers. The house elf pulled a sheet of paper from beneath the rags he had wrapped around his torso. He gave a small clearing of his throat.
âHogwarts would like to kindly remind you of the strict rules we have here involving the public and/or private displays of affection between students,â he began in a squeaky voice. He continued, âFirstly, female students must only be permitted in the male dormitory to casually socialize. Any sexual-â
âAlright, alright we get it,â interjected Sirius. âDonât fuck in the dorms, yeah? We wonât. Promise.â The elf ceased speaking and returned the parchment to its spot beneath the rags.
âThank you, sir. We appreciate your understanding,â he replied, bowing his head low. âHowever, please know that if it happens again, the elves will be forced to report you to your respective head of house.â
âOf course,â said Remus, whose cheeks were flushed a bright red. âHave a nice day.â
The elf, looking surprised, said, âAnd the most wonderful day to you, sir! You are most kind!â With another crack, the elf was gone. Remus collapsed on the edge of Siriusâs bed and sighed.
âAt least weâre not going to be reported or anything,â reasoned Sirius, who sat down beside him.
âYeah.â Sirius lay down on the mattress and pulled Remus down with him. He pulled Remus into the position they had been in on the field.
âThey canât get us in trouble for being next to each other,â whispered Sirius.
Tracing the stripes on Siriusâs shirt with his fingertips, Remus said absentmindedly, âHa. Youâre not wearing my jumper.â Sirius squeezed Remus in his arms as they both listened to the downpour beating heavily against the window.
