Chapter 1
Waves crashed against rocks at the bottom of towering cliffs. Regulus black sat alone in the soft grass that covered the ledge. Any previous thoughts had escaped him as he imagined the soft lips and messy brown hair that belonged to his brothers best friend. Light breezes added to the serenity of the lonely night. Regulus could smell the familiar scent of broom polish and old spices almost aswell as he could smell the salty sea air. Hogwarts exams were becoming stressful so Regulus was grateful to finally slip away from all the chaos ensuing at the school.
The sound of footsteps interrupted him from his thoughts, turning around to see James Potter. Regulus' heart flutter for a moment as he opened his mouth. "Sorry, didn't think anyone else would be here." Regulus looked at James as he spoke, taking a minute to actually think of a normal response. "I was about to be leaving" He said, his voice a lot calmer than he actually felt. His legs wobbled slightly as he stood up.
