15 minutes.
Summary
It would be 5 minutes at the longest before he'd run back down the street saying he was totally kidding and asking him to let him back inside, but now it's been- he checked his watch; 12 minutes, and Barty hasn't returned.---or...I made a tumblr post and somebody jokingly said to write it down.

Evan stormed across the living room for the fifth time, stopping and peeking outside the shutters once again, nope. Barty wasn't on his lawn. He hadn't been for 10 minutes now.

he had quite literally stormed off, gathered his things and said he was leaving for good…so why did Evan think he was coming back?
Well that's simple, he always did. It would be 5 minutes at the longest before he'd run back down the street saying he was totally kidding and asking him to let him back inside, but now it's been- he checked his watch; 12 minutes, and he hasn't returned.

Evan was starting to panic now.
He balanced himself on the table beside the door, fiddling nervously with the loom band friendship bracelet his sister Pandora had given him.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door, he jumped, spinning around and throwing open the door. How Barty managed to make himself look so pathetic and dishevelled in only 15 minutes Evan could never know.

He was guessing- given his heaving and heavy sweats he had taken the bus across the street, gone 10 minutes to the trainstop, gotten off and ran back to Evans house as fast as he possibly could.
he opened his mouth to speak but instead heaved, throwing up over the railing,
“How far did you run?” Evan asked in a monotone voice.

“two…” Barty heaved again “...two…miles.”
Evan sighed “Jesus Christ Barty.”
Barty suddenly let out a wail dropping dramatically to his knees
“Take me back Rosie!” he sobbed, Evan started.

“Oh my god Bat-” Evan breathed “you are so pathetic.”
Barty looked up at him pouting, gripping Evans leg, “nu-uh.”

Evan tried to shake Barty off his leg, but he clung on stubbornly, still pouting like a child. "Get off me, you're getting your snot all over my pants," he grumbled.

Barty only whined in response, burying his face in Evan's leg and continuing to cling to him like a koala. "But I need you," he whined. "You're the only one who can put up with my shit.”

Evan sighed “just get inside.”
“bedroom in 5?” Barty asked, tears immediately clearing.
Evan nodded “yeah.”
