In Which Everything Is Perfect
I have a boyfriend. A boyfriend!
Remus almost shed a tear when I told him. He made me a poster that said GO GAYS GO and hung it in our dorm until James told him to take it down because Lily was getting suspicious.
Being with Gilderoy is my favorite thing in the entire world, now that he actually knows how much I care about him. Just being able to kiss him whenever I want to is more than enough. Sirius is acting like my father with the amount of interrogating that's happening, but it's the most he's ever shown he cared about me so I tolerate it. Don't tell him I said that, though.
Our first Hogsmeade weekend was the most fun so far, though. I took Gilderoy to meet Pheobe, who looked more happy than I've ever seen her.
"So this is your friend then?"
She raised an eyebrow at Gilderoy, who seemed nervous, and I reached for his hand.
"My boyfriend now, Pheobs."
The excited rush that comes with saying it never seems to go away.
"Ah-ha! I knew no normal friendship could bring you in here at 2 am on a school night."
"What?"
Gilderoy looked at me, mouth open.
"This is where I got you flowers! This is Pheobe, a family friend."
"And a close personal friend, he's just too embarrassed to admit it."
We left, but not before Pheobe had given Gilderoy no less than five hugs and a fresh bouquet of lilacs. The flowers sat on a table in the Three Broomsticks as we drank butterbeer and talked. I decided that having a boyfriend is the best thing to ever happen to a person. Merlin, if anyone reads this I might just die.
Aside from Remus, Pandora was the happiest of anyone.
"I knew you had it in you."
After I explained what happened after she helped clean up the party, we went on a walk around the grounds. Pandora was becoming one of my favorite people these days. She didn't talk a lot, just added in thoughtful comments in her soft-spoken way.
"Actually, Gilderoy made the first move. I just went over there to talk to him."
"Yes, but it was still terribly brave. I wouldn't have gone to talk to him if he'd left me asleep."
"Thanks, Pandora."
She called me brave.
It's been different having someone like Gilderoy. Never bad, just different. He's always there for me, and I'm always there for him. We're each other's first priority, which is special because neither of us have been anyone's first priority before. We see each other every day but we always have something to talk about, and if we run out we just sit together and look at the grounds, or read a book. I've never had someone who makes me completely at ease by just existing, but that's how it feels with my boyfriend. Like everything will be all right, as long as he's close.
Wait.
Do you reckon he'll tell me what cologne he wears now?
