~Gerald's Journal~
"It would appear that the Chaos Emeralds were once worshipped by humans. Ancient human civilization across the globe have viewed them as bringers of life energy.
As far as I could translate the hieroglyphics it would appear that the continued exposure to Chaos energy gave them abilities similar to Chaos Control.
Side note:
That knowledge will prove useful for project Shadow.
As far as I could follow the tale, it would have appear that the ancient human managed to use they powers without any Emeralds at all. It would appear that those power became integrated into their very DNA.
What exactly happened to the ancient civilization remains a mystery for they have appear to hide from all who don't have their powers, even kicking those out who have shown no ability to use their version of Chaos Control.
Lucky for me I met one such individual, they wished that their name stay out of any documentation.
They told that the ancient civilization call themselves "Wizards" and that they have separated themselves from normal human civilization for reasons they said to be "no longer wanting to dwell with mud", if my interviewee is to be believed the "Wizard" community is stuck in the Victorian era with an extreme classism system, believing in "purity of blood" which means how far you can trace your family tree back without seeing anyone that they refer to as "muggle" [a person with no "magical" ancestry or capability of using it]
At the top of this system are the "purebloods" [someone who's ancestry can be trace back 4 generations without any "Muggle" in it] I was told that they often marry they cousins to "keep they blood pure"
Personal comment: Disgusting.
Then come the "halfbloods" [people with at least one "Muggle" in their ancestry of 4 generation]
And then the "Muggleborn" or "Mudbloods" [people without any magical ancestors]
my interviewee said that he was born in the higher end of said system as a pureblood but was thrown out when he was uncallable to perform magic, a so called "Squib"
[Person with magical ancestors but without the ability to use the power themselves]
Further more, they are sentient beings are not even considered people in the eye of their system.
[Elves, Goblins, Giants, Veelas, Werewolf, Vampires]

Years ago I would have simply put that down as fairy tale, but my research of the Chaos Emeralds
and dealing with █████ ████ make this look like a small revelation in comparison"

Eggman closed the journal.
He rupped his eyes, 'Exactly what I thought, a secret civilization, with powers granted from the Chaos Emeralds. That complicates things'
He looked up to see Harry riding the Eggmobile kids edition. It was some time ago when he managed to make a counter frequency to Harry's magic, finally letting the boy have some real toys worthy of a future Overlord.
'Well, that only makes it more fun. Guess I have to make some anti-magic weaponry, in the case those inbreds want to try to get in here again.'
