Dumbledore and McGonagall were standing in midst of a industry complex, delusional charms up so that the robots around don't fire at them for trespassing were now dropped.
"Albus, we could just told him we're coming here instead of sneaking in"
"Minerva, please, people love surprises"
The older lady signed, she knew her friends/coworker/boss mind was getting on with age but that it would be that bad.
"Please tell me that you're not actually planning on leaving a baby in the hands of a crazy scientist."
"Minerva, Ivo Robotnik is one of the few relatives of Lily, and while not close I'm sure Ivo wouldn't hurt the last remains of his family."
"You're always so optimistic, Headmaster"
The older pair walked to the entrance, lowering the child right before it and leaving a letter with all Ivo needs know written in it.
"Good luck, Harry Potter"

Doctor Ivo Robotnik, aka Eggman, was not fan of surprises, he liked his life like his mashines; calculated and with reason for every move, and most importantly under his control.
When he was awoken by the intruder alert around 3 o'clock in the middle of the night one would understand that his first reaction is to just command his robots to shoot whoever is dumb enough to trespass.
But to the unwell of his sleeping schedule he got another message, the intruders escaped and left something on his doorstep.
After ordering a badnik to get whatever they left and make sure it's not a bomb.
Rubbing his eyes, Ivo signed "A child" he said to himself, "Out of EVERYTHING in this and other worlds, someone gave me their brat." Picking up the letter and opening it:
'Dear Doctor Ivo Robotnik
It's with immense sadness that I have to inform you of the tragic passing of your cousin Lily Potter née Evans and her husband James Potter, who died protecting their only child, Harry Potter from the dark lord known as "Voldemort"
Due to legal and health issues, both physically and mentally, the other guardians of Harry are incapable of taking care of him. Leaving you as the only one person qualified for the roll.
I am sorry to borrow you with that all without proper explanation on our part, but our government is in a state of chaos for now and needs mine immediately attention.

Robotnik dropped the letter on the table, rubbing his temple, feeling a headache coming.
"Great, just great, I have no time for a kid!"
His frustration faded as looked to the side, seeing the little brat on top of a badnik, the ladybug look-like mashine driving softly back and forth.
Sighing again, Ivo Robotnik simple stated:
"Fine, you can stay, maybe you inherited some of that Robotnik family genius that the rest are lacking."
