☆Look out your window, I can see his light☆

Remus is in trouble. Big trouble.

How is he going to explain to his best friend that he went up to his little brother and is now spontaneously swooning over him? Ever since he first laid eyes on the boy, he can barely go 5 minutes without thinking about him. Hell, if he could, he would rant about the boy’s features all day and night. Oh no, this was a huge problem.

“Hey Moony! You alright mate?” Sirius asks, entering the common room as if he had a cue, and he certainly did not miss it.

“Oh yeah, I’m fine. Thanks Pads.” Remus responded, his voice warm with sincerity. Anytime Sirius came into a room things would get louder, in either a good or bad way. With Remus, it was always a good way. Sirius was one of the best things that has ever happened to Remus. He was there with him through the darkest nights, which he once spent alone. Now, he had a group a friends who would keep him company, and help him through those nights. He was grateful for him, and his other friends. They were all great, and he loved them to the moon and back.

“Well Moony… I’ve got an idea.” Sirius said, his eyes shining with a glint of mischief. Remus had a love-hate relationship with this glint. He knew that whatever was about to be asked, it would get people into trouble. He raised his eyebrows at the long haired boy, and shut the book he was reading before. Though to be honest, he wasn’t doing much reading since his mind was in… another universe. “I’m listening.” Remus said back, resting his elbows on the arms of the big chair he was sitting on, his legs still crossed. Sirius smirked and started fidgeting with his wand, polishing the end of the wand with his fingers. “I’ve had this idea for a while, and it’s quite simple actually. I was thinking when the Slytherin’s are at dinner, we can sneak into their dormitory and… change some things.” Sirius went on, starting to pace back and forth, still fidgeting with his wand.

Remus hummed in response, looking at Sirius with nothing but curiosity. What in Merlin’s name was he going to do, and how come he hadn’t done it earlier if it was simple? “What do you have in mind, Pads? And does Prongs and Wormy know about it?” Remus asked, resting his chin on the heel of his hand. Sirius’ grin only appeared larger when Remus asked. “I was thinking we well… fix the colour of their uniforms, green is quite a nasty colour. And to answer your other question, yes they do. I told Prongs first, then I told him to tell Wormy.” Sirius stopped in his tracks and turned to face Remus.

“I see.” Remus nodded, fixing himself to stand. He walked towards the book case they had in the common room. He took his wand out of his pocket and pointed it to the book case. “Aparecium.” The books on the bookshelf faded away, revealing the big cabinet that stands behind the books. Remus opens the cabinet to all of the supplies they had for pranks. You name it, and they had it in the cabinet. He took out the spell book they had discovered in 2nd year, and he flipped to the page where it lists all the spells for making an object change qualities. The page consisted of how to make things bigger, smaller, lighter, heavier, and other things of such.

“Do you have the map with you?” Remus asks, looking at Sirius, who walked next to him to glance at the spell book. Sirius nods, and looks at the old ancestor clock that stood against the wall. It’s only 4:43. They should have plenty of time and then some to prepare for this prank. Sirius nearly sprinted towards the record player that sat on a small table, next to it being a bin of all of the vinyls Remus had gotten over the years. He picked out a vinyl, placing it on the player and letting it do its magic from there. Remus recognized it automatically because he listened to it at least 50 times that past summer. It was Queen. Remus memorized the lyrics from listening to it so much, that he didn’t even realize that he was quietly singing the lyrics as he made a list of what they would be doing to the Slytherins. This was going to be one of his favorite pranks they’ve done, he knows it.

The sun was setting and dinner time was approaching rapidly. James and Peter had came back about an hour earlier and were pretty enthusiastic about the prank too. They had change the vinyl to ABBA, and James and Sirius had started to dance together, singing the lyrics terribly off key. Remus and Peter thought it was so bad that they started to laugh hysterically when James and Sirius started to turn each other in circles, Sirius being dipped first. Then they thought it would be a good idea for Sirius to dip James. As James leaned back into Sirius’ arms, Sirius lost his balance and they both ended up on the floor. At that point nobody in that common room could breathe, everyone’s laughs taking every ounce of air out of them.

Once everyone recovered from the hilarious disaster, they made a set in stone game plan, who would be doing what, and how they would hide their tracks. James took out the marauders map from Sirius’ pouch backpack. He glanced at the map, and turned back to the marauders. “Oi Lads, our targets are at dinner. Let’s set our plan into action, yeah?” James said, grabbing his invisibility cloak from the Gryffindor dormitory. Everyone nodded and prepared themselves, grabbing all of their supplies. They exited the common room and covered themselves with the cloak, making sure they wouldn’t be seen.

After a brief period of silence and walking, they made it into the Slytherin common room as other Slytherins exited the room. They found their way to the dormitory and uncovered themselves after they were sure no one was there. The room was flooded in green, and it was actually quite clean, except for one bed. Peter went up to the nightstand and saw a picture of Barty, Evan, and Regulus sitting by a pond together. They had assumed from there that the bed had belonged to Barty. They were correct. They found his jersey on the bed, and they set their spell on it. “Colovaria.” James said, as the green and white jersey began to change colours, becoming a bright purple and yellow. They chuckled and started searching for more jerseys. Remus went to a bed with the curtains closed. It was a made bed, with a folded jersey placed on the foot of it. He unfolded the jersey to see the back of it and he nearly stopped breathing. The name that was printed in all capital letters on the upper back of the jersey was a familiar one. Black.

Remus shook his head, snapping himself out of his staring state. He set the jersey down as something else caught his eye. A small stuffed animal lays tucked behind the pillows of the young Black brother’s bed. He took it out of its hiding place and smiled in endearment. It was a small stuffed croissant, with small legs and a smile. He looked at it for a long moment then put it back where it was placed before. He thought he couldn’t like Regulus more but that changed quickly. He flicked his wand at the jersey, not wanting to actually enchance it.

He closes the curtains to the bed, hoping none of his friends would see the untouched jersey, and meets his friends at the door of the dormitory. Now looking back at the room, he saw green with splashes of purple. They exited the dormitory and the Slytherin common room in almost no time. Once they returned to the Gryffindor common room, they all did a collective high 5. They started to joke about how bloody angry the Slytherins will be when they find out their jerseys are the colour of Dumbledore’s robe. They giggled the rest of the night and eventually, night was brought upon them.

Everyone went to bed quickly, and clearly they were knocked out from their mischief. Remus stayed awake however, wanting to ease into his evening his way. He sat on the window nook that was in the corner of the common room, and sipped his tea while reading a book. He looked out the window for a brief moment, then looked again because he almost missed what he saw. He saw a black curly haired Slytherin, flying around on his broom. His hair blew away from his face, the wind brushing it out of the beautiful boy’s eyes. Remus caught a glimpse of Regulus’ eyes, shining brightly in the moonlight, a light smile spread across his face. “He looks free”, Remus thought. He stared at the boy a moment longer, and finally decided it would be time to go to bed. Once he made it to bed, his mind wandered to Regulus flying, and how he looked so bright, and free while flying. Remus admired it, and really loved seeing it.
