Lee Hates the Kids
Gods were his siblings and their friends annoying. He was the only responsible teenager around besides doing all of that prank stuff with George and Fred his boyfriend). The kids were staying over for the remaining week of Winter Break. It was giving Lee a headache and what’s worse is that he got broken ribs before he returned home from Hogwarts after that brutal game of Quidditch between Gryffindor and Slytherin – and he was just the COMMENTATOR for good sake! He had to wear bandages around his waist and torso, and his left leg was bruised. Lee remembered it vividly:
“Angelina Johnson scored! 10 more points to Gryffindor! The overall score for the game is 70-20 making it possible for Gryffindor to win!” Lee had announced into the microphone. “We just need Harry Potter to catch the –”
WHAM!
The bludgers struck Lee – that came out of NOWHERE – one straight towards his face, breaking his nose, and the other slamming into his stomach, breaking a few of his ribs. And the force of the bludgers was able to make him collapse near the professor’s feet. He could hear the professor's shriek and terror – especially Professor McGonagall’s. “Jordan!” Professor McGonagall cried in shock. “Mr. Jordan – can you hear me?!”
“I’m fine. . . ,” Lee managed to croak out, before noticing his nose was bloody. “Argh. . . maybe I’m not fine,” Lee grimaced at the sight of his bloody nose.
“We’ll take you to Madam Pomfrey – bare with me – and we’ll have you healed in no time!” Professor McGonagall said before Lee passed out on the Commentary Box. He wasn’t completely unconscious. He was still able to hear Professor McGonagall shouting at Madam Hooch telling her that it was just another penalty – for Slytherin.
Professor Flitwick, the Charms Professor, muttered something about. . . something that Lee couldn’t hear because at this point he was unconscious. He woke up in the Hospital Wing 2 hours later after the game finished, and found himself wrapped up in bandages over his waist, torso, and his left leg which somehow got bruised.

It was dinner time by the time Lee finished reading one of his Quidditch Magazines, his mother called him downstairs and the other kids in the house. “Hello, Lee,” Mrs. Jordan said, kissing her oldest son on the forehead, before gesturing to him to take a seat at the dinner table.
“Hi Mum,” Lee replied as he sat down with the rest of the children. There were 6 children in the house – Luaran and her two friends, Grace and Rhea – Lucas and his friend, Thomas – then there was him, Lee.
“Thank you, Mrs. Jordan!” Grace, Rhea, and Thomas said after Mrs. Jordan gave them a serving of rice with a few main dishes on the table.
“You’re welcome dears!” Mrs. Jordan replied, smiling.
They started to eat their dinner, chatting along the way describing their day – until Zephyr, Lee’s owl, came in delivering a few letters from friends around the globe. Well sorta. The Weasleys are in England, Wood is in Scotland, Johnson is in LA with Bell, and Spinnet is also in Scotland. And Lee was stuck in California, Richmond City with his grandparents – along with his siblings.
“An owl?” Rhea asked, as Zephyr gave a few handful of letters to Lee, before giving two to Mrs. Jordan.
“Ah yes,” Mrs. Jordan said. “We use owls to communicate with our friends who live far from us –” she stopped as Lee raised an eyebrow at her reminding her that she can’t reveal their wizarding world but she dismissed it by waving a hand at him. “Don’t give me that look, son.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Lee replied, rolling his eyes. “Don’t spill it.”
“I won’t,” Mrs. Jordan said dismissively.
Dinner went smoothly. The younger kids finished their dinner first and were able to hit the showers and change into clothes while Lee stayed behind and helped his mother with the dishes.
“How are you feeling son?” Mrs. Jordan asked as she scrubbed the dirty dishes.
“Much better I suppose,” Lee replied, shrugging. “When am I allowed to take off these bandages?”
“After Winter Break when you’re back at Hogwarts,” Mrs. Jordan responded. “That way Madam Pomfrey would still be able to take care of you.”
“Right,” Lee grumbled. Great. He has to continue wearing these itchy bandages until Winter Break is over. At least it gives him time to figure out how in the world you wrap them.
By the time the kids finished showering, and putting on their pajamas, Mr. Jordan came home and gave him a hug to his wife, and he ruffled Lee’s dreadlocks before his mother came to tell her husband to watch over the kids while she helped Lee with showering.
That’s another thing. Lee hated showering with the bandages on. It made him even more soggy than it was supposed to be. Bandages are bandages and what lot - these are magical bandages that can fix up your ribs. Give it a week or two and you’ll be perfectly fine after that.
Lee’s mother went to grab Lee’s pajamas, which were red checkered pajama pants, a t-shirt, and an oversized sweater that looked more feminine, while Lee changed out of his clothes and hit the shower.
After a few minutes of being in the shower and removing the soggy bandages from Lee’s waist, torso, and left leg, his mother came in and helped dry him before putting on more bandages and tightening them.
“I can’t wait to get this out of my routine,” Lee muttered, as Lee’s mother tightened the bandages around Lee’s left leg.
“Trust me, honey, everything will be alright,” Mrs. Jordan replied. “You’ll survive. I’m just glad you didn’t slip and fall like you did yesterday.”
“That was painful,” Lee grimaced.
“I’m just glad you didn’t twist your leg,” Mrs. Jordan said, as soon as she finished wrapping her son in bandages. She gave Lee the pajamas she picked out, and the pajamas he’ll be wearing for the rest of the week. Including the visit to the Weasley’s. Lee can’t wait to see the twins again, especially Fred.
Shit. Mum doesn’t know I’m gay yet, Lee suddenly thought, as he pulled over a clean t-shirt, then pulled over his sweater, having the neck collar near his chin. Meh. I’ll tell her during our visit to the Weasleys. She’s bound to catch me anyways.

Lee sat on the couch, reading a comic this time, minding his business while the younger kids played a muggle game called Uno No Mercy.
“Hah!” Lee overheard Grace say, putting down a card dramatically on the floor. “You got a reverse, Lucas!”
“Darn!” Lucas groaned, before placing another card. “Plus 4, Luaran.”
“I didn’t do anything to you, you dimwit!” Luaran said, shoving her brother over, before drawing 4 cards from the deck and grumbling about not being able to have her turn.
“Jeez,” Lucas muttered, recovering from the hard shove.
“I’m skipping Grace,” Thomas said, placing a green skip card.
“Nooo!” Grace wailed dramatically.
“Plus 10!” Rhea said, placing a green Plus 10 card.
“Not today Rhea!” Lucas said, placing another Plus 10 card, hoping to spike Luaran’s outrage.
“NO!” Luaran shouted, slamming another Plus 10 card onto the messy deck.
“Shit!” Thomas said as he realized he had none of the Plus 10 cards to keep going.
“Language, Thomas,” Lee said, interrupting their game.
“Sorry -” Thomas replied before Luaran interrupted him, so he left her to deal with the big brother.
“Shut up big brother will you?” Lauren asked, not very polite.
“I’m just reminding you a lot to not cuss -” said Lee before he was interrupted by Lucas who whined, “We knowwww!”
“LUCAS WHAT THE FUCK?!” Lauren shouted as she had to draw 20 more cards from the deck.
“Like I said I didn’t do anything!” Lucas shouted back.
“OI!” Lee shouted, silencing his two younger siblings. “No cursing allowed in the house, and stop shoving each other -!”
“It’s not like you do that too!” Lauren shot back, glaring at her older brother.
“I have reasons!” Lee argued back. It was true he had reasons: he was only merely defending himself from the other students during his first year when he was picked for being the smallest - now look at him, all grown up, age 15 and in his 4th Year at Hogwarts.
“Hey, hey, hey,” Rhea said, being the reasonable one out of the 6 of her friend group, interrupting the argument that might spark up. “Let’s all calm down before you cause a huge mess. We don’t want Mrs. Jordan to clean it up - after all, we are her guests.”
“Fine,” Luaran grumbled, sitting back down grumbling about something stupid.
“We could hold the game and play it later,” Grace suggested, which Lee silently thanked her for. The last thing he needed was for his sister to go off and be grounded.
The kids agreed to hold the game off, even Luaran who sighed and then collected all of the cards and put them back into the red box.
“It’s almost bedtime you lot,” Lee said, glancing up at the clock. “Go brush your teeth. And no fighting in the bathroom.”
The group nodded and headed upstairs for the bathroom. Thank god they are all gone now. Lee only has a hard time dealing with his siblings, not their friends. Their friends were more reasonable.
After a few moments of silence, Lee decided to open one of the letters that Zephyr had given him earlier. It was from his boyfriend, Fred, who wrote:
Hey Lee! Or should I say, hey babe <3
Just a heads up, when you’re visiting on Christmas Eve, don’t come close to Percy or Percy’s room. He’s got his 3-year come-and-go sickness again.
You know, the “I will spit out my secrets whether you like it or not” sickness.
Remember that time when we were in our first year, and Percy was in his 3rd?
Anyway, I just wanted to see how you’re doing babe. Are you sure confessing to everyone on Christmas Day is the right way to do so? I don’t know, I feel like I’m not ready yet. But we have plenty of time. Love you, babe, <3
Love,
Fred Weasley.
Lee smiled softly at the letter, running his hand over it, he was lost in thought until Lucas popped right behind him. “Love letter?” he asked curiously, trying to read over his shoulder.
“Hey!” Lee said, putting the letter away out of sight, and blushing a bit. “Out!”
“Fineeeee,” Lucas whined, before leaving for his bedroom, leaving Lee alone.
Merlin, they’re annoying, Lee thought, rolling his eyes, before getting off the couch with the rest of his letters and heading towards his bedroom.
