Here Comes the Winter Sickness
Everyone was now back inside, taking off their snow-covered coats and hanging them on the racks. The twins were busy goofing off with Ginny, planning and setting up their Christmas pranks when the day came.
The Golden Trio – Harry, Hermione, and Ron – were all busy chatting about what happened at Hogwarts lately: The Chamber of Secrets has been opened by the Heir of the Slytherin, Quidditch, and all of that hogwash. Does it affect Percy? Nope. None at all. Maybe it affects the Quidditch Team, but who cares? Not Percy that’s who. Maybe Oliver. . . since Quidditch is like, his number one top priority.
While everyone was busy doing their own thing, Percy finished writing back to his friends and sent Hermes to deliver the letters through the open window. And before he could close it so the cold winter breeze could not come in, he sneezed, loudly. “ACHOO!” Percy scrunched up his nose after that sneeze and rubbed his nose. “Merlin’s beard,” Percy muttered, after closing the window and sitting back down on his bed.
He covered himself in his blankets before getting a book to read and laying back on the headboard. He soon heard another knock on his bedroom door, and thinking it was Charlie again he called out, "Come in."
The door opened, and Bill Weasley, the eldest of the Weasley Siblings, poked his head in. "You good Percy? I heard you sneeze," he said, coming further into his room and sitting beside him. "And it was pretty loud."
"I'm perfectly fine, Bill," Percy replied, clearly lying and another sneeze was there to prove its point.
"You're not fine," Bill interjected, raising an eyebrow at his younger brother who rubbed his nose again.
“Bill, it’s only a minor cold. It’ll go away eventually,” Percy replied, rolling his eyes, then pushing his glasses and continuing to read his book on Greek Mythology that he got for Christmas last year.
“Uh huh,” Bill said, sarcastically, crossing his arms. “A minor cold you say? Just look back at you when you were in your 3rd Year. You’ve gotten sick pretty bad 2 weeks before the Winter Break started."
“Argh, don’t remind me,” Percy grumbled, shuddering at the memory.
He was sick with the flu, a high fever, and a cold, all in one. He missed two weeks' worth of classes and had to pile up on homework after he was free from the Hospital Wing. "I'll be fine before the Second Term Starts," he said rolling his eyes and returning to his book.
"Just make sure you take a Pepperup Potion before it gets worse," Bill insisted. "Last time you spilled a secret of yours that you were being bullied by a Slytherin both me and Charlie went to beat him up. And got detention afterward."
"Yeah, yeah," Percy replied, then sighed. "It wasn't supposed to happen but I guess I got so sick that I mentioned it – a- ACHOO!" he managed to say before another loud sneeze came.
"Damn," Bill grimaced, looking at Percy, who was now groaning and blowing out his snot.
"Like I said I'm completely fine – ACHOO!" Percy sneezed loudly, which caused his book to be thrown out of his hands.
"Yeah no – you're not fine," Bill said, standing up and opening the door from Percy's room, and shouted: "MUM! Percy's sneezing again!"
