Chapter 4
chapter 4
The next few days were… well about as you’d expect. Harry would try and get his letters and Vernon would, well, destroy them. He would then cry to Athena about it and she would cheer him up. Since he had nothing better to do, she would teach him about gods, how to recognize them, talk to them, who they were, what they were like, how to worship them, what they liked, etc… Harry had never been more interested in his life. He loved learning about Athena and the gods. He had learnt that this religion was called hellenism and that it was considered a pagan religion. Regardless, he loved it! He finally Felt… free? Though his ‘’family’’ never were religious, he was now deeply religious. With Athena’s guidance, he began praying when Athena was too busy to be by his side. Finally Sunday rolled around. Harry was serving breakfast to his so called ‘’family’’ when suddenly, he went into quick-thought. ‘’Get ready’’ she said. Harry went out of quick-thought and braced himself for the worst. Athena had been right, for a second later thousands upon thousands of letters began storming into the living room. Harry, excited, grabbed one off of the floor and bolted. Unluckily for him his uncle Vernon was close behind ‘’GIVE ME THAT LETTER!’’ He roared. Unfortunately, with harry being 10, Vernon quickly caught up to him and grabbed hold of him. As the letters kept pouring in, harry was fighting against Vernon, trying hard to get out of his harsh grasp. ‘’THATS IT!’’ Vernon yelled, ‘’WE’RE GOING AWAY, FAR, FAR AWAY!, WHERE THEY CAN’T FIND US!’’ Vernon declared. Harry packed all his books on general knowledge, he had always loved learning, as well as some clothes and some rocks he had offered Athena that he thought looked neat. He packed it all up in a backpack and got in the car. Somehow, his uncle had managed to keep his big mouth shut. Though he looked angry, as if he were about to explode. Harry was worried. What would happen to him? And of his bond with Athena? Luckily, the whole way Harry could see a barn owl secretly following them. He was sure it was her! She had told him her sacred animal was the barn owl and that she was able to transform into one. He was so happy he couldn’t help but smile to himself. A god had chosen him out of all people on earth to be her pupil. He wasn’t extraordinary, nor special, sure some odd things happened around him, like that one time his hair grew back in one night after aunt petunia shaved it all off. he had gotten punished severely for that one. Though he never knew how… As he didn’t want to frighten Athena and make her go away, he hadn’t exactly told her of all these instances. After hours of driving, and harry praying to Athena in his head, they finally stopped. Vernon rushed them out of the car and disappeared for a bit. Harry glanced at the barn owl. It was staring directly at him. For once being stared at didn’t make him uneasy.
Once Vernon returned, he had a grand smile plastered on his face. Worried, harry looked franticly around for athena, but she was no where to be found. "Everyone! I have found the perfect place! They won’t find us there!" Vernon gleefully announced. Both dudley and aunt petunia seemed terrified as to what he had planned. And for once, Harry agreed with them. They all got on a tiny boat and sailed off to a rock in the middle of nowhere. There stood, in all it’s misery, a house. Well this is cozy Harry sarcastically thought as he got inside. Unsurprisingly his uncle hadn’t accounted for the fact Harry was there and had bought this house while knowing it was too small for all of them. Petunia and Vernon got the upstairs bedroom, Dudley the couch and harry, well, the dusty floor. As they all got ready for bed, a mean storm was getting ready to boom outside.
