chapter 2
In the reptile house harry was smiling from ear to ear. That is until his uncle smacked him in the back of the head for "taking the fun out of Dudley’s big day" Harry could feel the rage inside him growing with each passing second as Dudley screeched like a banshee wanting the reptiles to move. As he moves on to the next, calling this one boring, Harry decides to begin conversation with the serpent. Little did he know, he wasn’t the only one conversing at the moment.
‘’Oh Athena dawling there you are~." said a strangely well dressed man sitting next to Athena. he had three pairs of wings. two on his head, two on his hips and two on each of his ankles. he wore a helm, as well as a tunic and sandals. Athena sighed and looked to the man. "hello Hermes, how may i help you?" ‘’ Dawling i must ask what do you see in that kid? i mean yeah he is smart but surely you don’t think he is-" Hermes was cut short by Athena’s death stare "continue that sentence, i dare you" "though i must say… he certainly is interesting. even if he wasn’t him-" she glares again "you could still teach him! he certainly could learn quite a bit from you dawling" she sighed "i know everyone is worried ever since his…death…" she looked down at Harry. "he is so much like him, i can’t help but wonder…." "maybe you need the help of a certain god, someone who’s not afraid to…send a message?" Hermes smiled encouragingly at her. Athena glared at him "don’t bring him into this." Hermes put his hands up in defeat "alright dawling, have it your way." and with that he left. But his seeds of doubt had been planted.
Athena stared at harry. He was such a young child and yet he had gone through so much… he reminded her so much of Telemachus which made her want to protect him. He was smarter than most like him. He didn’t know the first thing about hellenism or about her. She had a lot to teach him. She transformed into an owl and got closer to the reptile house. Seeing the chaos inside she couldn’t help but laugh. That is until she saw how a large short man grabbed harry by the shirt and dragged him out of the zoo, off to a car. A woman and a very wet boy following close behind. She flew on top of the car, following them to a house. She landed on a tree and just watched.
She used her projection to see inside the house, and what she saw made her blood boil. If she were allowed to murder humans she would. These were the worse of the worse. They were abusing HER pupil. She had a lot of work to do if she was to protect him. Harry had been shoved into a cupboard under the stairs which, on closer inspection happened to have all sorts of things. toys, clothes, a bed but so little space…. this was outrageous! She has to get him out of there! She decided to use quick thought on Harry to console him. "hello Harry-" Harry yelped in surprise and banged his head on the ceiling. ‘’Harry! stop making so much noise!" uncle Vernon shouted. "yes uncle Vernon!" harry hurriedly answered. he then looked to Athena who had appeared out of thin air ‘’Athena?" he whispered she nodded her head. He smiled brightly. ‘’ What are you doing here?" he asked, still whispering but more panicked this time. "i’m keeping you company" Athena sat on the bed and stared at Harry. The two began talking. Until Harry fell asleep. Athena smiled to herself and disappeared off back to Olympus…
