Remus' Impatience

Remus looked at Sirius, an eyebrow raised.

"You really want me to read the whole thing? Page by page?"

Sirius chuckled at that, knowing how impatient Remus could be.

"Okay, maybe not the whole thing, but just a few more pages."

"I know there's something else apart from the fact that your uncle was friends with my dad, isn't it? Why can't  you just show me that instead of making me read the whole the journal???"

"Because it's funnier.'' He chuckled. ''And also, because it will shock you even harder if you find out the short way."

Remus rolled his eyes, but didn't argue further. He liked slowburn novels, he could deal with a little suspense.

"Okay, but can I not read all the pages? Can I just skip a few?"

"Fine. Gimme that..."

Sirius took the journal from Remus' hands, and they brushed slightly, causing Remus to feel a shiver down his spine. Sirius seemed oblivious to the effect that slight brush had had in Remus, but he had done it on purpose. That brief contact was enough to make Sirius' heart speed up. He had to take any chance he could to have the slightest physical contact with Remus. He was starved of physical touch, and especially his. But he could never admit it out loud. He could never admit how much he thought about him, how his heart fluttered in his chest at the sight of his smile, and how sexy he thought he looked when he smoked.
After a few moments of flipping through the pages, he handed it back to Remus.

"Read those."

I've had the busiest weeks ever!! I couldn't even write for how much things has happened. I think I might even forget some.

Last week nothing much happened. I had flight class yesterday, with Lyall. I'm not really good at sport, nor at flying, but I did it well. However, Lyall is great. He's a natural on the broom, he flew effortlessly. Though he doesn't like it, since he had told me. He isn't a man of sports, like me. I still haven't seen how Monty (that's how we've started to call Fleamont—they've started to call me Al) flew, but from what I've heard he might be even better than Lyall.
Speaking of Monty, I think a Hufflepuff girl broke him. He hasn't said anything yet, but Lyall and I have seen how he looks at her. I don't think she knows who he is. But I can tell he'll try to be noticed by her soon. Lyall and I just watch him steal glances at her from his table at the Great Hall amused, and we joke with each other about it. He still hasn't told us about it, but when he does he's not gonna hear the end of it, I bet.

I've asked Lyall what he thinks about all this. About this whole "girlfriend" subject. Monty isn't the only one smitten by the girls here. We both agree that it's still too soon to be thinking about that. And anyway, it's only a few. I bet it'll pass, and everything will be back to normal.

I really like Hogwarts. It's better than home. Though I still have to be with Wallie and my cousin constantly, and the boys whom I share my bedroom with are really nasty, Lyall and Monty are great friends. Most of the time it's just Lyall and me, because Monty has other friends in his house and he's usually spending time with them. But I don't mind, I really like Lyall and I like it when it's just he and I.»

Remus stopped reading again. It had been a short entry.

"Are you making me read every single year? When does the interesting part come??"

Sirius laughed at Remus's impatience, finding it quite endearing.

"Impatient, aren't we?

Remus rolled his eyes at that comment. He was impatient for a really good reason; they weren't alone. Though James' parents had left the house, James was still there, outside, flying. He could catch them with the journal, and he knew Sirius wanted to share it only with him. So that's what he told Sirius.

"Okay, okay..." he said, defeated. "As you already know, Sherlock, there's something I wanna show you. It's important. But there isn't just one. I have to show you a lot of things in that diary. So, before we get to the main plot, let me show you the smaller things, would ya?"
Remus exhaled loudly, frustrated, but he didn't argue back. He knew he won't coxe Sirius to show him whatever it was.

"Fine. But let's hurry up, 'k? James or his parents could be back at any moment."

"We don't have to finish it in one day. We could do it another day."

"I don't think I'll be able to wait another day" Remus joked.

Sirius chuckled and took the journal back again, their hands of course brushing. Remus was starting to think that he did it on purpose. Sirius flipped a few pages and handed it back to him.

"I can't promise this will be the last from his first year, but I promise there aren't much left." He smirked.

"Okay..."
