He tried to tell himself he was being paranoid.
But as the week drew to a close, strange things started happening again.
Not visions.
Not dreams.
But...signs.
The air in his dorm was always too cold, no matter how high the fire burned.
The corridors he walked at night felt...emptier.
Like something had pulled away, retreated into the dark.
Waiting.
Watching.
The rosary beads, which had been cracked since that night, felt heavier in his pocket.
Once, as he reached into his robes, he swore he felt them pulse—just once. A slow, cold heartbeat against his fingers.
Harry swallowed.
Something was coming.
And whatever it was...
It would not be kind.
