Day 11 Tabaxi
You didn't really have any interest in your neighbors.
You just lived in your regular suburban neighborhood with mowed lawns, middle class families, and pocket fences. Basically everyone's supposed dream life. It was peaceful as far as you knew. Low crime rates. Good schools. Safe streets. Not really a lot of things to worry about except maybe the occasional animal rooting through your trashcans and making a mess of your garbage or teenagers deciding to cause trouble by egging houses or doing something dumb. It was always nothing to worry about however.
Your neighbors were pretty good too. Friendly and polite(most of them) and always the kind to say hello or give a friendly wave if you were to pass by their house. You'd get the occasional knock on your door from moms taking their kids out to sell girl scout cookies or something along those lines. You didn't think anything was wrong with the way you lived
At least until your new neighbor moved in.
The house right across from yours had been empty for months nearly a year with a 'For Sale' sign in the front yard. Your previous neighbor who'd lived there was a very sweet old man who everyone seemed to adore but he had decided to move in with his son and sell his house with his old age. So when you biked home from work one day and found the sign gone, you found it odd but assumed one of the neighborhood kids made off with it. At least until you saw a moving van in front of the home and moving men bringing in several pieces of furniture into the house.
Oh. Someone new was moving in. Neat!
You weren't as nosey as some of your other neighbors, so while they stared or perked through curtains at the sight you just want back inside to mind your own business. You didn't know who they were but you'd rather leave them alone and maybe introduce yourself later. It was most likely a family with kids or an elderly person since that's what your neighborhood was mostly made of. However it was none of those things.
In fact he wasn't even human.
You were sat in front of the TV when you heard the knock at the door. A normal occurrence so you didn't think twice as you got up from where you laid on the sofa, opened the door, and completely froze at what exactly you saw in front of the door.
"H-Helllo. I'm sorry for disturbing you but I thought it would be bad manners to not introduce youself to your neighbors."
You stared at the man before you. He had a darker complexion and black hair and the prettiest blue eyes you've ever seen. However none of those features was why you were staring. You were staring at the fact that he had TWO pointy cat ears on top of his head!! The two ears were black matching the color of his hair and twitched slightly as you kept staring at him. For a long moment there was nothing but silence between the two of you until you finally remembered that you were staring.
"OH!!" You quickly shook your head and offered an awkward smile. "I-Im so sorry-"
"It's fine," he cut you off with a sad sigh. "I'm used to it by now."
"Uh ..R-Right. Um. M-My name's Y/n." Awkwardly you offered your hand out for him to shake. "What's yours?"
He blinked seeming surprised by the gesture before slowly reaching out to shake it making you nervously glance at the long claws he spotted. "Aizetsu. I just moved in across from you."
"Oh! So you're the one who moved in!" You smiled at him really making him blink. "I saw your moving van a couple days ago. Are you from around here?"
He blinked staring at you . before he cleared his throat. "I-..Sorta. I used to live many streets away but I moved out because I needed my own space. I heard this street was good so I took it "
"It is pretty nice here. Well it's nice to meet you, Mr. Aizetsu. I hope you like it here."
"Li- likewise."
