Gangle wouldn’t say it was a good idea. In fact, it was a bad idea. A very bad idea. Perhaps she was feeling nostalgic, longing for a hint of normalcy from her old life. That wasn’t wrong was it? A reminder she was still human.
Most days she didn’t feel human. A mask twisted into ribbons and emotions. She yearned for her old body, warmth and flesh instead of cold porcelain.
Maybe it was Gangle remembering those erotic novels she would read late at night.
Whatever the reason, it didn’t seem to stop her from slipping a note into the suggestion box.
There was no rest for the wicked, and wicked Jax was. He liked getting an early start to his day. He started by rolling a prize wheel into Kinger’s room. That got the old geezer moving!
Next on the list would have to be Zooble. They wouldn’t mind waking up without a leg would they?
Dollface was the easiest to rile up. Just slip a centipede underneath her pillow, bam! Jax would hear her shrill from down the hall. Sometimes he spiced it up a bit, a snake here, a worm there. Gotta keep things interesting.
Jax would save Gangle for later. Breaking her mask was one of his favourites, but a repeated act was no fun.
Pomni, now Jax had yet to find out what really made her tick. What made her upset, or go crazy! She’d be on the back burner for now too, lucky for her.
Today was coming up Jax, until it wasn’t.
Jax chuckled as he heard a shriek, just as he knew he would.
Then came an irritated roar, followed by a string of bleeps from Zooble’s room.
Followed by a horrified scream as Kinger sprinted down the hall.
Jax basked in it all, lounging on a sofa in the common room.
“Jax what the f$&%! You better hope you can’t die!”
A mass of shapes came his way, rambling on and on about his imminent death.
A chess piece pushed his way past to scramble into the pillow fort in the corner.
An unscathed jester and drama mask walked in to see the commotion.
Jax kept his eyes on the real prize. A little rag dolly stomping up to him. With brows scrunched and fists bared. Her eyes were angry, cheeks almost flushed as she faced him head on.
“I’m so sick of waking up to what you know is my worst fear! Why can’t you give me a break for one day?!”
There it was. Her persona breaking down around her. Ragatha loved to present herself as a perfect princess, so helpful and kind to everyone. She could never do any wrong!
But Jax? He could break her apart. Light up that fire he knew was just begging to be released. All she needed was a little push. Jax took pride in being the only one to bring it out of Ragatha.
“Uh, what’s happening?” Pomni uttered.
“Just Jax causing problems like he usually does.” Gangle answered her critically.
“Tough words for someone who’s next!” Jax chirped. He leaned forwards, his hand going to Gangle’s mask to tip it threateningly.
“Get away from her!” Zooble said before being interrupted by Ragatha slapping his hand away.
“Stop it!”
Oh, she was really mad Jax thought. He decided to watch the show as she got right in his face.
Alas, Jax was unable to enjoy his favourite show as Caine appeared from nowhere, causing Kinger to screech.
“Good morning my beautiful buttercups! You’ll never guess what today’s adventure will be!” Caine waved his hands excitedly.
“An insect exhibition!”
“A craft day!”
“An exit door.” Pomni suggested.
“No to all of those!” Caine helpfully said.
“Today’s adventure will be escaping the back rooms! Running from creepy crawlies and dark hallways!”
“Why??!!” Pomni groaned into her gloves.
“F$&! no.” Zooble turned away.
This certainly sounded right up Jax’s alley. Imagine the things he could pull in there. All the possibilities sent his mind spiraling as Caine flew in front of Zooble, stopping their trek.
“You can’t skip it again! It’s going to be great! I made it just in mind for you!” His hands rested on their shoulders.
“You can’t stop me! I’m so done with all of this.” Zooble declared defiantly.
“Why don’t we check the suggestion box.” Ragatha approached the pair, cutting in before it could escalate.
Caine raised a hand to his chin thoughtfully.
“Why yes! I don’t know why I keep forgetting about that.”
Caine flew from Zooble to the box. He reached a hand before blindingly selecting a note.
“This outta be good.” Jax elbowed Ragatha.
Her response was a raised brow as she turned away.
Hm, let her be mad. Jax could laugh by himself.
“Have our dynamics be reinstalled. What does that even mean?”
“Oh sh!$.” Gangle and Jax said as Caine snapped his fingers.
Ragatha was hoping to begin her day off to a great start. That nice thought was thrown straight out the window when she awoke to a snake inching across her face.
Ragatha became angry, a hot burl in her chest she always tried to keep down. Why couldn’t she be given a little peace? A quiet morning where she woke up in a calm room with no intrusions.
Apparently it was too much to ask. At least Jax switched it up this time! Way to keep things fresh!
She wasn’t going to stay in her room with this awful creature. She was going to give that rabbit a piece of her mind.
As Ragatha stomped out of her room, she was given the sight of her friends barreling down the hallway. Poor Kinger frantic as a wheel rolled after him, Zooble already yelling at Jax.
Well good! Maybe a scolding would set him straight, but she knew it wouldn’t.
It didn’t stop Ragatha from letting free some steam. His yellow eyes were on her as she poked her hand into his chest, his smirk mischievous as he lowered his head towards her.
Ragatha tried to calm herself down as Caine discussed today's adventure. Hopefully it would keep her from thinking of that annoying bunny.
So she attempted to mediate the upcoming fight from Zooble, then waited as Caine read the new adventure.
Dynamics, oh dear-
Before her eyes Ragatha watched as everyone transformed along with herself.
You see, their bodies were on tight lock and key in the circus. Their clothes molded in place with no place to access hidden parts.
Scents started filling the air as truths came to light. Bodies changed to fit previous dynamics from long ago.
Ragatha could feel a growth between her legs, pressing between her thighs as she observed the others. She could feel her glands breathing in as it took in the new smells.
Kinger’s was strong, but steady. It would have made her angry if it wasn’t so soothing.
Zooble shook as their body had changed to give them an exposed seam beneath, tearing off their wing to shield it away.
Gangle used her comedy mask similarly, squeaking as her body had now become thicker. Almost skin like as she developed mass. Her scent was sweet, like eating a cookie dipped in milk.
Pomni was different, she was more subtle, revealing her beta dynamic as she glanced confusedly around the others, before patting at herself, shocked.
Ragatha found herself relating to Pomni very much in that moment, for she too was shocked. But not as shocked as when her nose focused on Jax.
“Oh.” She said quietly as she flemmed the air.
Jax backed away, his eyes looking scared in a manner Ragatha had never seen before.
His reveal seemed to snap Zooble out of their panicked state.
“All this time of preaching to be a strong, tough and terrific alpha, and you're an omega? Ha!” They guffawed.
“What’s wrong with that?” Gangle’s voice almost shook.
“Nothing! But it is a little funny right?” Zooble chorted, mismatched hands pressing on their knees.
“Well I hope you think being an omega is funny! You're lucky, you don’t know what it’s like.” Tears fell from Gangle’s tragedy mask as she turned away.
“Caine, you need to fix this.” Pomni urged.
Caine waved his hand at the jester’s face.
“Nonsense my dear! The adventure must continue!”
With that, their ringleader disappeared as quickly as he came.
A silence filled the air in the wake of Caine’s absence. Ragatha knew she needed to find an anchor, something to cling to when all her nerves were alight.
She embraced the scent of smoke, cooling and soothing as she took a breath. The scent came from Jax, who chuckled in amusement.
“Well, this has been a real good time, but that’s my cue to leave! See you sorry sh!!s later~” Jax winked as he left, pivoting rapidly on his heel down the hall.
“Jax!” Ragatha called, watching his shoulders hunch at his retreat.
“Gangle wait! You can’t blame me for-“ Zooble was given the cold shoulder as Gangle too padded off.
“What just happened?!” Pomni cried as she patted at herself, twisting the fabric constricting her new developments.
Ragatha couldn’t help but laugh at the poor jester.
Their old lives had been left behind. Accepting who they were now, and not who they'd been before.
Ragatha never liked her dynamic. Alphas were portrayed as stoic leaders, taking charge as the dominant type. Angry, fierce, destructive.
Things Ragatha weren't, or wished she wasn’t. Feeling hints of her old body brought moments to the surface she’d rather forget, forced to play parts she’d never wanted to.
A warm hand stroked her hair, guiding her to rest upon Kinger’s robe. The king was gentle in his ministrations,
His voice wobbled, his subvocals rusty as he warbled.
It’s going to be alright little one. Take a breath.
Ragatha listened to his clicks, basking in her oldest friend’s embrace as he continued to comfort her.
“Uh guys? Is everything okay?” Pomni interrupts, ringing her hands together.
Kinger brought his assumed neck to Ragatha’s forehead, brushing against her to secure his scent in place.
“We’re okay Pomni, how are you doing?” Ragatha drew back, focusing on the smell.
Always worrying about others. You need to worry about yourself more. Kinger chided.
I’m okay, a little frazzled, but don’t worry! Ragatha assured.
Pomni tucked her hair behind her ears, crossing her legs.
“It’s so odd, I feel almost like I’m back in my old body. If it’s strange for me, it must be even worse for you guys. It's probably been a while…”
Ragatha brushed a hand over her glands, smiling nervously.
“Haha! You're not wrong. Speaking of, I should probably go check on the others. They must not be doing very well..” Ragatha deflected.
Pomni stepped forward, blocking her path as she made to leave.
“Actually how about I check on some of them? You don’t always have to do everything yourself.” Pomni suggested, standing tall as she adjusted her hat.
Pomni would do that for her? Her heart squeezed, warming further as Kinger placed a hand on her shoulder.
She’s right. Listen to her.
“Ugh, subvocals.” Pomni groaned, looking between the two.
“Sorry Pomni,” Ragatha expressed. Her eye crinkled, holding out a hand to her friend to take.
Pomni did, after a moment of hesitation.
“Thank you Pomni, I appreciate it more than you know.” The doll gave a small squeeze to her hand before retreating it.
Go get some rest. Kinger demanded, stepping closer to Pomni to usher Ragatha off.
“I’m going! I’m going!” Ragatha giggled, venturing down the hallway.
Heading her friend’s words, Ragatha did make her way to her room. Though as she trudged through the hall she couldn’t help but worry about the others.
Gangle, who had left so upset, Zooble who seemed frustrated, and Jax.
He was a difficult one to place. Never showing his true emotions, hidden beneath a curtain. Jax presented himself as a trickster, easy going and not afraid to do anything as long as he gained enjoyment from it.
But Ragatha had seen the panic on his face, the way he left so quickly..
She shook her head, clearing her thoughts. Both Pomni and Kinger would handle it, so she put her worries to rest.
Or, Ragatha would have, if not for the small trills coming from her neighbour.
No, no, take it back. I don’t want it.
Jax’s voice rang out, his vocals fearful.
The scent around his door so intense, it caused Ragatha to cover her cloth nose.
She had never heard him sound so sad, it made her pause.
There were times Ragatha saw through his mask, when Queenie abstracted he’d grown quiet, avoiding others by staying in his room.
At Kaufmo’s funeral preparation she’d seen how his lips drew down, his eyes scrunching before he stormed off.
His scent reeked of anxiety, something so unlike his usual mischief Ragatha didn’t stop herself from knocking on his door.
Hello? Ragatha let out.
Jax’s vocals vanished, going silent as she continued to rap on the wood.
Don’t be afraid, it’s going to be okay.
Ragatha continued to rumble, not knowing if her actions were a help or hindrance.
Finally, she heard his voice rasp, “what do you want dolly?”
Ragatha perked up, leaning on the door to listen better. She was unused to her superior hearing, having spent so long without it.
“I want to know if you're okay, can I come in please?”
A scoff, “c’mon I know that’s a lie. You just want to gloat.”
Ugh. Leave it to Jax to make everything about a competition.
“I promise I’m not. I really, really want to know.”
He was silent for a long time, Ragatha considered leaving before he said, “fine.”
Oh!
Quickly, Ragatha entered, pulling open the door to reveal her co circus member.
His room was a mess, props strewn about. Posters torn down, claw marks gracing the walls.
The rabbit sat curled up on his bed, a pillow clutched within his paws as his legs went to his chest.
Sweet bunny. Ragatha cooed.
Jax blinked his eyes owlishly at her, the golden disappearing as he sighed.
Then he shot straight up, glaring as he waved a hand at her accusingly.
“Don’t f#{£|$$ do that!”
Ragatha held up her mittened hands. “I’m sorry! I don’t know what came over me.” She sputtered.
His ears folded down, his paws needing aggressively into his bedding.
Ragatha came closer, edging towards him.
“It did help though, didn’t it?”
Jax growled at her, eyeing her warily.
“I don’t know what you're playing at here Rags, but you better get to the chase.”
Ragatha stomped her foot, huffing at his biting words.
“I don’t have an angle Jax. I just wanted to check on you.”
He laughed bitterly.
“Oh yeah? Right, I forgot, Miss Perfect can’t let her image be ruined. But I know what you really think, your thinking serves him right. I’m just a joke to you.”
Ragatha growled, a storm from deep within her chest that made him shiver.
“Let’s get one thing clear. You may be an a$$h0|€, but I was worried. I wasn’t even going to check on you, but you sounded so sad I needed to.”
She held his gaze, Jax’s ears raising as she leaned over him.
“And I’m not perfect, and you know that. You remind me enough.”
Jax’s shoulders slumped, scooting over as he offered her the space.
“Maybe it did help.” He admitted.
Ragatha sat down, laying out her skirts to fit in the cramped space. Jax pulled on the fabric, adjusting it to smooth out.
Thank you bunny.
Jax exhaled, wrinkling his nose suddenly.
“Ugh, did you let Kinger scent you? That’s disgusting!”
Ragatha pushed his shoulder as he made a gagging noise.
“He did it to calm me! Like a pack leader might.” Ragatha defended.
Jax rolled his eyes, shoving her back.
“Well, you stink. Like swampy water and mud.”
Ragatha pursed her lips. She raised her head, trying to pin his scent out.
Growing up, Ragatha went camping with her family every summer. The smell from the campfire was her favourite. Watching her marshmallow turn a darkened brown until it became ash.
Jax smelled of campfire smoke. Strong and bursting like a bright flame.
It was almost addicting, Ragatha had to restrain herself from flem sniffing.
Jax flopped onto his pillow, his hand resting on his cheek as he stared openly at her.
“You could smell a lot better.” He offered.
“How so?” She tilted her head.
“C’mere.”
Curiously, the doll leaned down, gasping as Jax touched his hidden nose to hers.
“Hm, that’s better.” Jax hummed.
Oh. Ragatha squeaked.
Spurred on his actions, Ragatha pinned him to the bed, settling herself atop him.
“Hey there,” Jax greeted.
My pretty girl. He rang out.
Ragatha swallowed past the lump in her throat, her cheeks warming. Jax grinned, reaching up to run a thumb over her glands.
She met him, her lips pressing to his head as she kissed his fur.
Jax stilled, shocked as she smirked.
What’s wrong, little bunny? Are you speechless now?
“Shut up,” Jax spit, before slamming his lips to hers.
Ragatha moaned when he bit her lip, his arms wrapping snugly over her waist. His legs shifted, trapping her in place as his hips twisted upwards.
Ragatha groaned, her eye heavy when he rutted against her. She found his neck, rubbing her cheek against his gland. Ragatha inhaled his scent, devouring the smell like a woman dying of thirst.
“You like that huh dolly? You gonna mark me? Make me yours?” Jax goaded, his golden eyes piercing as he grasped at her chest.
“Ah!” She yelped, his hands twisting and tugging at her bodice. They slipped inside, finding her nipples to play with.
“I see how you stare at me Ragatha. You're not as slick as you like to think. Always huffing and puffing. Does that make you hard? Are you gonna fill me up? Huh?”
“Jax!” Ragatha pleaded, one paw leaving to slip under her skirts, finding her hard length. He griped it, tugging before rubbing her tip.
“I bet you’d like to do that. Fuck me so good everyone would know I belong to you.” Jax pulled her to his face, nosing at her neck, spreading his scent over her.
“Mmm!” Ragatha’s mind went taut, knowing nothing but his touch as she lost herself.
Good girl.
When Ragatha came to, the sound of purring filled her ears, claws raking over her curls thoroughly. Surrounding her was the fierce scent of burning.
“You smell much better now.” Jax quipped.
“Thank you,” Ragatha sprawled, snuggling against his chest.
Wait.
“Did you want to? I’m sorry- you didn’t cum-“
Jax kissed her nose, cutting her off mid sentence.
“I did while watching you. Gotta admit, you're quite the sight when you were screaming my name.” His fur had an almost rosy glow, his cat-like pupils blown wide.
Ragatha settled back down when he guided her to lay on his stomach. His purring filled the room, their scents mingling together sweetly.
Cheeky bunny.
Be quiet you, Jax responded, nuzzling her curls as he rolled over, drawing the blankets above them both.
Ragatha didn’t know if this would last, this thing between them. In her candy heart she hoped, clinging to him as his breathing evened out.
For now, the doll allowed herself to relax, soaking in his soft fur and loud purring.
Hey! Wait a minute!
Ragatha bolted up, “I’m still mad about the snake!”
Jax groaned tiredly.
