Chapter 14

The other day, after Potions class, Hermione quickly shut the door behind her and sneaked up to the front of the classroom to talk to Professor Snape.

"Severus, can my friends—"

"No." The man cut her off coldly, tapping his paperwork neatly on his desk.

"But you didn’t even listen to me!" Hermione huffed, crossing her arms in frustration.

Snape let out a sigh, raising an eyebrow as he glanced at her. "Miss Granger, I already know what you're going to ask."

Hermione climbed onto his desk, swinging her legs as she giggled. "Oh? You do?"

"I can already hear it. ‘Can my friends come over? Can we hang out with them?’" He mimicked her voice mockingly before reaching over to pinch her nose.

Hermione's eyes widened in shock. "H-How do you know?!" Her mouth hung open.

"Because I'm your boyfriend," Professor Snape replied smoothly. His smirk quickly faded as his expression turned serious. "And no, they are not coming to my house."

"You mean our house, right?" Hermione narrowed her eyes at him.

Snape sighed in defeat. "Fine, whatever." He rolled his eyes, picking up his paperwork before turning on his heel to leave.

"Please!" Hermione called after him, putting on her best pleading expression.

Snape stopped by the door, exhaling sharply before looking over his shoulder. "Hermione Granger, this is the last time. I don’t want to see you begging again."

"So… is that a yes? Yay!!" she muttered before squealing in excitement.

When the holiday arrived, Hermione and her friends packed their things and headed straight to Professor Snape’s office after everyone else had left. They didn’t even bother to knock. Hermione, leading the group, barged in without hesitation.

"Severus!" she shrieked, running toward him and leaping into his arms. Snape instinctively caught her, though his expression remained unamused as he shot Harry and Ron a look of pure distaste.

"Do I really have to bring them home?" he asked, glancing down at Hermione.

"Yes! You love me, right?" Hermione teased, her eyes twinkling. She lifted herself up and pressed a quick kiss on his lips.

"Ugh!" Ron and Harry groaned in unison, making exaggerated gagging sounds.

Snape turned his cold glare on them instantly, silencing them both with just one look.

"We should get going," he muttered, placing Hermione back on her feet. He stepped into the fireplace, throwing down a handful of Floo Powder. "Snape Manor!" he called out, disappearing into the green flames.

One by one, the others followed suit.

As they landed inside, Hermione beamed. "Welcome to Snape Manor!" she announced excitedly.

Harry glanced around in awe. "Oh my god, Snape, you’re rich!" he exclaimed, his voice echoing through the long, polished corridor. "Wait… where’s Ron?"

"Over here!" Ron’s voice called from another room.

They turned to find him standing by the dining table, a chicken leg in one hand and a cupcake in the other.

Snape’s expression darkened as he noticed the table had been disturbed.

"Weasley. Potter." His voice was low and menacing, effectively freezing them in place.

"Guys… W-why don’t you go upstairs and change into clean clothes?" Hermione suggested quickly, shoving them toward the staircase before an argument could break out.

Snape exhaled slowly and sank into a chair, rubbing his temple before motioning for Hermione to sit beside him.

A few minutes later, Harry and Ron returned, now in fresh clothes, and settled down at the table. As they ate, they cracked terrible jokes—ones that Hermione found hilarious.

Snape, on the other hand, remained as unreadable as ever.
