Remus John Lupin

That was all he thought as he buttoned his neat Oxford shirt, his mom had told him that he’d look like a ‘proper man’ now, though he thought that he looked a bit stupid. Remus Lupin was the only reason he had agreed to go to his party, he thought that parties were raucous and excessive, but Noah, his best mate and roommate, had said that Remus Lupin would definitely be there. It was only right that Sebastian would go too.

Sebastian had first accidentally dropped his books in front of him, as Remus had accidentally walked into him, in the library; unlike the other fifth years, Remus didn’t laugh, or give him a warning look - he picked them up and apologised. He, Remus Lupin that is, if it wasn’t clear, apologised. From that moment on Sebastian admired Remus enormously, though Noah would call it anything ranging from obsession, to borderline worship.

He was smart - beyond smart, he was intelligent, and driven, yet still humble. He was funny, sarcastic though never rude; he was kind, in anything he did. He was pretty, Merlin he was gorgeous. He was an enigma to the Hogwarts’ student body, truly, and he was one that they must all crack - and it seemed that way since just about everyone either wanted to be him, wanted to be with him, loved him, or downright despised him (the latter being slimy gits anyways). It’s just that Remus was really great, most people agreed.

“Merlin, look he’s so cool,” his nimble finger pointed to Remus, his head against the steam covered glass, and a blond haired boy, blowing smoke into the cool air, besides the greenhouses, passing a fag between them, “He’s so cool, don’t you think Noah?”

“Alright, we get it ‘cool’, yeah whatever.”

“Re- Regulus, you think he’s cool, don’t you?” He instantly regretted saying this, as Noah’s brown eyes shot to his, both glaring and worrying at the same time. He only said it as he had noticed that the Slytherin (that was getting far too close to Remus for his liking), with Remus, was one of Regulus’ roommates.

“Lupin is the ‘coolest’,” saying the word as if he were above it, his voice laced with disgust, “of that gaggle, he’s quite interesting actually.”

And that was the most honest and kind he had ever heard Regulus.

“H- Hi Remus,” Merlin, he had to sort the stuttering out.

“Oh hey Seb, you alright?” His smile soft, and his words softer, Merlin, he’s perfect. And ‘Seb’ - Sebastian was just about to die.

Unable to trust his mouth, he opted on nodding firmly, as he gazed at the taller boy’s, oh, so lovely face.

They stood like that for a while, Sebastian had realised far too late that his nodding was going on for a bit too long.

“Merlin, Potter’s acting like a right clown,” Sebastian had caught his eye on James Potter doing some sort of attempt at serenading Lily Evans - even Sebastian wasn’t that desperate, he’d opt for writing poetry, bet Remus would like that.

At Sebastian’s statement, Remus erupted into laughter, loud and raw. He was taken aback, though far from displeased - he wished to shout aloud, ’SEE, I MADE REMUS LUPIN LAUGH!’.

Remus playfully hit Seb on the arm once he’d recovered, the touch setting Seb alight. He thought of what next to say, something suave an-

His thought process was cut off by a marching Sirius Black.

Sebastian didn’t dislike Black, really he disliked how much Sirius loves Remus. Merlin, he acted smitten and didn’t do anything about it - what an absolute idiot.

Remus had seemingly caught sight of the approaching figure, as he downed his drink (rather attractively, Seb would like to add).

Steely eyes raking themselves over his figure, how pathetic, just because you can’t get Remus to feel such emotion - roar with laug-

“Hm, hey Rem,” a grin washed over the previously glowering face, as he turned to Remus - Merlin, Rem was a bit overly friendly, no?

“Wanna get a drink with me?” His arm slung over the taller boy’s shoulder, Merlin, how obnoxious could you get?

Sirius dragged Remus away, smirking menacingly at Sebastian’s lonely figure.

From that moment on, he hated Sirius Black.
