A Potter In Slytherin
"Mother, this is most inane." Damian sighed. As had happened the previous two times, Harry ignored him, flicking through several school pamphlets. Damian put Terry down and watched the toddler scurry off to bother one of his other siblings or the portraits.
"It is not inane, Damian. I just want to have you go to the best school that also fits your needs." Harry muttered, slinging a few more pamphlets into the reject pile.
"I'm going to Hogwarts." Damian quietly declared. Harry stopped all his paper shuffling and looked at his son with wide eyes. "I want to go to the school that most of our family has attended and..." Damian trailed off with a slight blush.
"And?" Harry gently prodded but he had an idea of what Damian was thinking of. Or rather, who .
"Abigail is going to Hogwarts and I would like to attend with her," Damian added shortly, flushing further when his mother cooed at him.
"Damian~"
"Cease this at once, Mo- I hear Richard calling for me. I will speak with you later." Damian all but scurried from the room to the chorus of Harry's delighted laughter.
Dick wasn't even in England right now.
"So what House you think Damian will get sorted into? Place your bets no-" Harry said over breakfast at Potter Manor the next morning.
"SLYTHERIN" came the in-unison reply from the group at the table. Well Terry said something that sounded like Slytherin but who knows? He might just might be mimicking his father yet again. Harry pouted at the lot regardless.
"You are all no fun. What if he sorts into Hufflepuff instead?"
"Harry, darling, the only ones of our children who would be Sorted to Hufflepuff would be Dick, Cass and Cullen and Dick would only be there because he's too cunning for even Slytherin." Bruce yawned. Dick preened.
"That is a very astute observation. The only other one who I can see sort Slytherin aside from Damian is Tim but he might just choose Ravenclaw instead." Tom said, bemused.
"Politics are amusing but I prefer the nerds." Tim said, sleepily fist bumping Jason.
"So I am just going to be in Gryffindor by myself? Dang." Conner huffed. Cass made a considering noise.
"Harper. Steph. Terry." She said. Conner mentally rolled that over before nodding in agreement.
"Right on as always Cass, though I personally see Harper more likely to be in Ravenclaw with Tim, Jazz and Jason. Dad would be a Ravenclaw."
"Oh please, B is a total Slytherin with Gryffindor qualities." Dick snorted. Jazz gave a so-so gesture.
"I don't know, Bruce gives off a more Slytherin-Ravenclaw feeling to me or are we lumping all the heroes into Gryffindor?" Jazz asked with loud outcry from the rest, Tom especially.
"I would quit vigilantism today if that was true. Besides we all know Superman is a fucking Hufflepuff." Tom spat.
"Wonder Woman would make a magnificent Gryffindor though." Jason said almost to himself with fervent agreement from Harper.
"So everyone here is going on a Diagon Alley trip?" Harry asked once the Breakfast dishes are cleared.
"Tom and I are staying here to watch Terry." Dick said. Tom snorted.
"More like play with him so you can get in Daddy practice time."
"Harper, Conner and I are going to the Burrow." Steph said cheerily. "Cass, you wanna come with?"
Cass shook her head. "No. Staying with Cullen and Tim."
"Yeah, we are going to be in the library most of the day. then Freya said she was going to give me some cooking lessons." Cullen clarified.
"So just Me, Bruce, Damian, Jason and Jazz then?" Harry said to nods. "Right then. The Longbottoms should be here in a bit along with Duke. We are hosting a dinner tonight so you all will see them then. If that's all, Autobots, ROLL OUT."
Harry laughed as his kids heckled him for his dismissal phrase.
"Damian!"
Damian immediately braced himself, arms open for the blonde hug seeking missile that was Abigail Longbottom.
"Abigail. I do so hope your travel was well." Damian said placidly after he spat out her hair that had managed to get into his mouth. He sent a glare at Jason who wasn't even attempting to conceal his amusement. He was also sure his own parents were probably amused as well though they hid it a bit better as they greeted the Longbottom parents.
Abigail gave him a squeeze. "Yeah! It was the first time I had flown and it was so neat! Daddy wound up looking a bit grey though." She whispered the last bit conspiratorially to him. Once released, Damian took note that Uncle Neville did look a bit pale which came off as grey due to his tan.
Damian still hadn't figured out how the man managed to tan if he lived in Gotham fulltime.
"Uncle Neville, Aunt Hannah, I do hope your journey was untroubled." Damian bowed to Neville and Hannah. They both smiled kindly at him.
"It was fine, Damian. Are you excited to go to school?" Hannah asked, pulling Damian into a tight hug. The apple didn't fall that far from the tree in that regard.
"Yes. Father and my siblings think I will Sort in Slytherin."
"Not you, Harry?" Neville teased his godbrother. Harry pouted.
"He could be a Hufflepuff."
"Ooo then we could be in the same house!" Abigail cheered.
"We would be close by anyway once I am sorted Slytherin." Damian reminded as she took his held out arm. He aggressively ignored the adoring looks the adults shot at them and the teasing one starting up on Jason's face.
"Mhm and we can go get snacks from the Kitchens. Rose told me about that!" Abigail cheered as they headed inside to the Floo Room.
"But Hogwarts has transitioned over to the Domestic Elf Union so the location might be different." Damian pointed out. Abigail beamed at him, undaunted.
"Well that means we explore and find the truth! Hufflepuffs are particularly good finders."
"Why do I think I heard that somewhere before?" Duke muttered to himself.
The group made their way to the Leaky Cauldron after a portkey to London. Hannah held onto Duke while Jason grabbed Bruce as they headed in.
"You've done this how many times now and still get knocled away from the wards? Are you sure you aren't really a vampire?" Jason complained as he settled his father down at a table so they could get lunch.
"I don't know what it is about the Leaky Cauldron that is so repelling. I am fine at other locations with muggle repelling wards." Bruce sighed, accepting a cider from a server. Harry and Hannah had went up to order, chatting happily with their former classmate, Seamus Finnegan.
"Just a bit of bad luck, mate. I think you are the only muggle I know who reacts like this." Neville mused.
"Maybe its because you are around other magic like Constantine and Zantanna, Father." Damian suggests.
"Hm...perhaps. Dick doesn't come to Diagon often and he's around those two as much as I am." Bruce thought it over, taking a sip of his drink.
