Albus hated James right now.
How could he had been that careless?
Why did he had to play that stupid game?
How could he had just left him alone right now?
Albus was rolled up in his dorm, head buried in the tear wet pillow.
He never needed his brother more in his life.
He was done with the pain, the suffering, the bullying.
He was don with life.
But of course James had to break his neck during one of his stupid quidditch games.
Now his brother was fighting for his life in the hospital wing, instead of sitting next to Albus.
Instead of telling him one of his many sneaky story’s, the older boy was now getting infusions of different potions.
Instead of letting Albus cry on his shoulder, he had to cry into his unconscious brothers chest before getting kicked out.
And the worst, instead of them sneaking together into the kitchen for James to prepare him some chocolate bezels, he was now eating normal Brezels while his brother might never wake up.
The soothing sound of the rain and the relaxing motion of the chewing brought him in some kind of rhythm.
His mind going in circles about the bullying, his father, Scorpius and of course James.
He just wanted to escape, but all he could do was just throw another and of Brezels into his mouth.
The blank taste disgusted him.
James came up with the combination randomly, because that boy loved Brezels while Albus ride or die was chocolate.
It was surprisingly good for something cooked or better said put together by a at the time 10 year old.
5 years later and it was now the comfort food of the brothers.
After a long day of getting humiliated at school all Albus graved were freshly made *Jamsi Brezels*.
Oh how he needed them right now.
A loud knock on the door interrupted his self pity.
A hopeful glimmer in his eyes he wanked the door open hoping to see James there.
Seconds later his fairytale bubble burst into pices.
It was in fact not his brother, except if his brother suddenly had turned into a female Slytherin perfect.
What to his defence something was he could see James doing.
“You must be Albus, right?”, her tone was soft and nice, to nice.
People apart for his brother and his boyfriend never were nice to him.
“And who might you be?!”, he hissed. The sound a little meaner than he had intended to.
Non the less the girl keep the smile on her face.
“Lillian Rivera” All she got was a confused look. “James girlfriend”, she added with a smirk.
Well that was quiet the news indeed, so shocking he even forgot his sadness for a moment.
He knew James chased after one particular girl since first year, but that he had finally managed to catch her was new to him.
Especially taking in that she is in fact a Slytherin.
“And what do you want from me?”, the defence in his tone clear.
The last thing he needed now was to get bullied from his brothers lover.
“ checking if you are okay. James told me you were having a hard time, especially on this house.”
Oh great. His brother told her about stuff how worse could the night get? Maybe to top it all of she knew he was gay?!
Worst of all she seemed suspiciously nice.
He hated to nice people.
“Yeah I am fine can you leave now?!” That comment managed to make her smile falter a bit.
“ Well sure I don’t want to make you uncomfortable” He let out a snort at that. “But” *Oh now nice a but. It’s not like that invalids your statement of not wanting to make me uncomfortable* Albus thought to himself.
“James told me he always makes you chocolate Brezels when you had a bad day, and I saw you crying in a corner earlier. So I wanted to ask if I should try and make you some, even though it wouldn’t be the same.”, Lillian rambled.
That statement actually caught him a little off guard . she wanted to do something nice for him? That was a new one.
But what did he had to loose?
If she meant it genuinely he would get Brezels and someone in his house who didn’t hates his guts. But if the worst case scenario happens it at least wouldn’t be something new.
“I guess you could try”, He said slow, watching every move of her.
Without another word she pulled me down to the common room, through the hallway and into the kitchen.
Due to the late hour no house elf was in sight.
Albus sat down on his usual place the kitchen counter while Lillian tried to somehow melt the chocolate. It was a funny sight because she seemed to think off anything except to hexing the chocolate melted.
*no wonder she settled for James, they both seem equally stupid* Albus thought giggling as the girl tried pouring hot water over the chocolate just to burn her fingers.
“Can’t you just hex it melted? I am staring to feel pity for you.”, he cracked.
She seemed to think about it, debating if it was a good idea, before following his advice.
“Just tell me one thing, why are you looking out for me.”
She stopped in her track looking at Albus like he had just grown a third head.
“What kind of question is that? First you clearly need someone right now, second your my boyfriends brother and third don’t you think it should be normal to be looking out for you? I mean you are my responsibility as a perfect after all.”
That statement stroke a cord in Him, even if he didn’t knew if it was positive.
She was right about it being technically her job, but non of the other perfects did….
“Just eat your chocolate Brezels.” She shoved the plate with them in my hand, they were arranged to make a little smiley face.
*Maybe I am not so alone in Slytherin after all* he thought throwing a Brezel into his mouth.
*Thank good James is a love sick fool or I would be here alone now*
Somehow everything that brings Albus comfort and support in Hogwarts goes bag to the Brezels of his older brother.
Now all James needed to do was to survive
