Euphemia and Fleamont met during the second world war in Britain. They met after the end of the war in the police academy. They got together happily in their 20s, but it never worked out with kids, so soon gave up on actively trying and were even thinking towards adoption. But one day, as they were already in their 40s, Euphemia found out she was pregnant. They were overjoyed, and even though most of their friend kids were already adults, they started to prepare themselves for being parents. The room in Potter-Manor that was always supposed to be a nursery finally became said.
In March 1960 it was finally time Euphemia started going into labour and only a few hours they were holding their not one but two babies in their arms happily. James and Sirius Potter, both born with a bunch of black messy hair on their tiny heads, just like her husbands.
The two were happiest together and soon were playing together all day. Even though Potter-Manor had an immense amount of rooms, the two demanded to share a bedroom, not wanting to be apart. They were basically attached at the hip, doing everything together. Being it playing soccer with Fleamont after he came back from work or learning to read in the library. They were homeschooled for the first few years of their education since Fleamont and Euphemia both had the same in their childhood, but for secondary school they choose to enrol the boys in a local public school.
On September 1st of 1971 it was finally time for the twins first day at school. They both put on their school uniforms. Euphemia brushed their hair trying to get it to lay flat, but there was no choice it would listen, so she gave up fairly quickly. She was proud of her boys, both looking so grown up in difference to the tiny babies she held a matter of 11 years ago. They were still attached at the hip like the toddlers they once were, they could have been identical if not for the glasses resting on James’ nose and the different eye colours. Storm grey in Sirius case and a warm hazel in James. They entered the auditorium of the local public school, in which sat about 40 other new students with their parents.
The headmaster got on stage and started talking about what would await the kids in the next 7 years. Before the two teachers came on stage to read out who got in each class, Sirius and James both ended up in Professor McGonagall's class, she was a strict looking woman in her mid-twenties. 30s. The other classes teacher was Professor Binns, a rather old looking teacher with grey hair. The two groups of kids followed the teachers to their respective classrooms. Sirius quickly noticed a boy in a wheelchair being pushed by his father in their group, while James found interest in a crying little girl with red locks.
