Cherry Bomb!

Their second song of the evening was Y/N's pick- Lady Stardust. She practically sang it at Sirius, who looked a bit teary-eyed as they played.

People stared at the makeup on his face
Laughed at his long black hair, his animal grace
The boy in the bright blue jeans
Jumped up on the stage
And lady stardust sang his songs
Of darkness and disgrace

The crowd was a bit more quiet for this song- still enjoying the music, but using the song as a chance to slow dance with whoever they could find. Remus would extend a hand and twirl Sirius when he was sure no one was paying them any mind.

*****

When the song ended, the applause began again, and Remus pushed Sirius up towards the stage where he enveloped her in a hug, weepy in his drunkenness. Y/N laughed, and he placed a wet smooch on her cheek before stumbling off the stage and returning to his boyfriend.

"Right, you all know this one. I remember hearing this one for the first time at that ball in 4th year- loved it then, and love it now. Lets go girls!" Y/N shouted, the people in front of her cheering once more.

The girls began to play Ballroom Blitz, and everyone began to dance once more- twisting and shimmying all across the room to the beat echoing through the room. Marlene sang on backup vocals smiling widely at Y/N with each riff on her guitar, leaning into the beat and moving her hips.

Ooh, it's, it's a ballroom blitz
It's, it's a ballroom blitz
It's, it's a ballroom blitz
Yeah, it's a ballroom blitz

The end of the song came, and so did the cheering once more.

After much debate throughout the previous days, the girls had decided on 'One of the Boys' rather than 'All the Young Dudes'. Everyone was dancing as they played the song, their crowd getting progressively more sloshed with each passing verse. Lily was quite proud of the way she'd managed to charm the music to sound muffled for the bit around the 4 minute mark. The end of the song had been a bit more strenuous for Y/N's vocals; all the cries and shouts wearing down on her throat. As the girls played the outro, Sirius handed Y/N a drink, which she gulped down, assuming it was water (the lighting was bad- it was firewhiskey. She made a mental note to not trust anything Sirius gave her.)

"Woah- fuck. Thanks so much for that Sirius. Straight liquor." she grumbled into the mic, coughing. A few laughs rose up from the crowd, and she heard Sirius shout "No worries love!", rolling her eyes.

"Alright. We just wanna thank you all first for being such a great crowd- y'know this is actually our first time playing for a crowd-" a few cheers came up, "-thank you. We have one more song for you tonight, a personal favorite of mine. Ladies out there, join on in, I know you know this one!"

Y/N could feel the liquor coursing through her veins now- any reservations she had before were long gone. Mary came in with the bass line and Lily carried on the drums. She took her mic off of the stand and held it to her lips, leaning down and flipping her hair up before singing.

Can't stay at home, can't stay at school
Old folks say, "Ya poor little fool"
Down the streets I'm the girl next door
I'm the fox you've been waiting for

Marlene joined her with backups on the last line, smiling at Y/N moving about the stage. Y/N moved again, tapping her foot to the beat of the drum as the chorus came on.

Hello Daddy, hello Mom

She leaned down, getting into the music.

I'm your ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb
Hello world, I'm your wild girl
I'm your ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb

She looked over at Marlene, then at Sirius who gave her an encouraging nod, and a not-so-discreet thumbs up.

Stone age love and strange sounds too

She stared at Marlene, angling her body to face her. Marlene turned to her, still shredding. Merlin, did Marlene always look this good? Fuck

Come on baby, let me get to you
Bad nights causin' teenage blues

Marlene joined her for the last line of the verse, smirking as she sang into her mic.

Get down ladies, you've got nothing to lose

Hello Daddy, hello Mom
I'm your ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb
Hello world, I'm your wild girl
I'm your ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb

Now, in her drunken stupor, you could call Y/N's actions a complete loss of inhibition. Or, you could say that with the alcohol in her veins, she finally felt no need to hold back. As Marlene started her solo riff, Y/N strut across the stage to Marlene's spot, leaning her back up against Marlene's, and sliding down into a crouch as she and Marlene channeled their inner 'Cherie Currie' and moaned for the song. This move broke out some cheers and wolf whistling from the audience, Sirius' being heard the loudest. Quickly making her way back to her spot on the stage, trying to ignore the unreadable look that Marlene was giving her, she began to sing again.

Hello Daddy, hello Mom
I'm your ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb

Hello world, I'm your wild girl
I'm your ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb

Y/N moaned again, running a hand through her hair and sending a pointed look to Marlene who smirked. She smirked. Oh Merlin and how that smirk could just cause her to sink to her knees in the middle of that damn stage.

Hey street boy, what's your style?
Your dead end dreams don't make you smile
I'll give ya something to live for

Marlene stared right into Y/N's soul before joining her.

Have ya, grab ya 'til you're sore

Y/N felt like she must have been floating in that moment. The tension between them was building with the song, and Y/N could feel her desire for Marlene building with each passing note. She was feeling dizzy- probably because of the alcohol, but the only thing clouding her judgement in that moment was just how sexy Marlene looked on the stage, still maintaining eye contact as she played.

Hello Daddy, hello Mom
I'm your ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb
Hello world, I'm your wild girl
I'm your ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb

The song ended, and Y/N swore she nearly passed out right then. Her whole body was slick with sweat, and the other girls didn't look much better off. The crowd was deafening, and she just smiled as she took a swig of her water before passing it to Marlene. She thought she felt Marlene's hand linger, just a bit, but it must've been her imagination.

"Thank you, thank you," Y/N spoke into the mic after catching her breath, "You guys were right incredible. I think I speak for all of us when we say you were the best crowd ever. Alright everyone, lets give it up one more time for Lily here on drums!" the cheers continued, James' being notably the loudest. "And Mary on bass," more cheering, "And Marls- rocking her guitar and vocals." the ovation continued. Marlene stepped forward, pushing up in front of the mic, moving Y/N out of the way.

"And," Marlene began, "Big round of applause for our incredible vocalist, Y/N here!" the cheers came up again, a bit louder than the others. Y/N felt herself blush from the support of the crowd and Marlene, who just gave her a soft smile before wrapping her in a hug that nearly sent them tumbling to the floor in her drunken state.

"Now," Marlene spoke into the mic, letting go of Y/N, "Lets take some more shots!"

***********

"Whew," Sirius whistled, approaching Y/N, "I know I told you to be a bit more obvious, but you were laying it on thick back there." He drawled, a glint of something mischievous in his gaze.

Y/N had downed another two Firewhiskies after their set, she felt herself stumble a bit more as she turned to see him. "Was it too much Siri? She just looked so fine, couldn't help m'self."

He just laughed and threw an arm around her, "Not too much at all, I'm quite impressed with you doll. But," his eyes turned a bit darker, the playful smile still resting on his face, "Don't think that little stunt gets you out of the game later."

"Siriusssssssss," she groaned.

"Nope- won't hear it. Now come on, enjoy the rest of the night. People will start heading to bed soon, then the real fun can start!"

"Oi leave me alone- go snog Moony or something!"

"With pleasure," he said, bowing dramatically before taking his leave and calling out for Remus.

Oh, the night was far from over.
