As a Sinner
Summary
A basic direct continuation of 'Indifference is a sin;'.read that first to understand!Sirius and Regulus and Lily just chill during the summer.let's meet Lily's parents.I took great liberties for Lily's parents because I couldn't find anything on them :( and i found that upsetting because we know about James' parents but not Lily's.
Note
I also decided instead of just Jegulus i wanted to do Jegulily because I also really like that one, uhhh yeah. Enjoy! This one is also open ended, which until this series is done will be purposeful because it gives a sort of cliffhanger effect. Also I used a translator because I do not know German or Norweigan. Or French.Given the context it should be pretty obvious what they say but at the end notes will be the translations :)

Sirius got on the Hogwarts Express, sitting beside Lily in an empty compartment, Regulus joined them after a few minutes.

“Sorry, Pandora wanted to say bye. Her parents gave her a Floo pouch, so she wanted to Floo home instead of ride the tracks.”

“Oh. You’re fine, Regulus.” Lily smiled at the boy, making him turn his head away.

Sirius looked between the two, narrowing his eyes slightly.

“So, what’s your family like Evans?” Regulus asked.
“Well, my sister doesn’t like wizards, or witches or… anything magic…” Lily looked down, “But my parents think it’s amazing. Having a daughter with such ‘potential.” Lily smiled, looking up. “My mom was wary, but my dad supported me. We had a wizard- uh, I… forget his name now, someone from the ministry came and explained everything to my parents. Then took me to Diagon alley and opened my Gringotts vault for me, and we exchanged some of my muggle money to galleons.”

“That’s convenient.” Sirius nodded as the train conductor calls for the last call or any stragglers.

“Mhm.”

Sirius looked around, through the window for the last time until the next school year at Hogwarts.

“Well, I’ll try not to cause to much trouble.” Sirius grinned, “I’ll be so serious.”

“Oh that’s scary!” Lily laughed, smiling. The three talked as the Express moved along the tracks, Sirius shushing them when they passed the snowy mountains so they can appreciate the view.

“Mama! Dad!” Lily called her parents waving her arms as they got off the train. Regulus and Sirius grabbing their luggage.

“Lilie, willkommen zu Hause!” Her mother called.

“Your mom’s German?” Sirius asked, confused.
“Mhm. My dad is from Norway, but I picked up English and German the best, so we stopped trying to teach me Norwegian.”

“Hm. Glad we aren’t the only ones who know a language other than English.” Sirius hummed, smiling as he shook hands with Lily’s father.

“It’s nice to meet you sir, I’ve heard good things about you.” Sirius greeted, “I’m Sirius.”

“Please, just call me Aksel. This is my wife, Frida.”

“Pleasure to meet you both.” Regulus shakes hands with Frida as he rolls the luggage to their Dodge Ram Van.

“Oh so liebe Jungs.” Frida puts her hand on her chest, pleased.

“Hm?” Sirius paused as he helped his brother put the luggage in the car, curious as to what she said.

“Sirius-!” Regulus jolted as one of the suitcases fell, unlatching.

“…It’s fine it was mine.” Sirius waved it off.

“You- I- Espèce d’idiot.” Regulus muttered, as he knelt, using one hand to hold the luggage in the car, and then closed the latches, picking up the fallen suitcase, and tossing it on top of the others.

“Ne me traite pas d’idiot, Reggie.” Sirius mock gasped as he stood, helping his brother. He closed the doors of the back. Moving to the back seats of the Van he climbed in.

Regulus shook his head, as he gave a ‘I’m so done with him’ look to Lily, who laughed as her and her parents walked over.

Aksel got in the driver’s seat, Frida in the passenger.

He turned the key, once- twice as the engine sputtered, then started.

“It’s a nice ride; it just doesn’t like to start sometimes.” Aksel looked at them as he pulled out of the train station.

Regulus held onto the handle tightly, as though his life depended on it.

“Is he alright?” Frida asked.

“He’s never been in a car before mama.”

“Never been to the muggle world.” Regulus tacked on.

“I have.” Sirius said, raising his hand as he looked around between the other three. “...Remus took me to a drive in once.”

“That’s sweet.” Lily smiled as she looked at him, noticing the slight slowness in his movements- something he only did when he was mildly upset.

Regulus looked at his brother, analyzing his expression.

“What movie did you see?” Aksel asked.

“Two Lane Blacktop, I think.” Sirius answered.

“Oh, that’s a good movie.” Frida nodded.

“Never seen it.” Aksel admitted.

Frida looked at him. “Yes, you have.”
“When?”
“We went to see it when Lily was ten, remember?” Aksel looked baffled, before realization crossed his face and he barked a laugh, dropping his head.

Frida poked him, “Watch the road fool!”

Regulus stumbled out of the car, “Never riding a damn car again.” He said, holding his hand over his mouth.

“Motion sickness Reggie? And you call yourself a quidditch player.” Sirius teased, as he followed his brother out of the car.

“Oh, leave him alone, Sirius.” Lily laughed as she helped her mother out of the car.

“You two will have to share a room, I hope you don’t mind. Our other spare room is currently being used as storage, but we’ll clean it out soon enough.” Aksel informed as he unlocked the front door, holding it open for the students and his wife.

“Thank you dear.” Frida kissed his cheek as she followed the kids in. Aksel practically melted.

How sweet. Sirius and Regulus shared a look.

“Summer barely lasted.” Sirius groaned, as he packed his trunk back up.
“It was a summer well spent.” Regulus smiled.

“That’s because you and Lily now know you like each other. Also, yes. I know you both also like James. Don’t let me ruin that for you.”
“Ah yes. Now the Gryffindor traits come out.” Regulus chuckles, before going serious. Hah. “Yeah, I like James. But until he gets his head out of his ass and apologizes for not letting you stay with him for the summer, and you might've had to go back to that house had Lily not stepped up- I’m not gonna be around him.”
“I second that.” Lily said, as she walked by with a basket of laundry.

“You two are sweet. But really, I don’t mind.” Sirius repeated, raising his voice so the red head down the hall could hear.

“Neither do we!” Lily shouted from down the hall.

“Hey no shouting!” Frida called.

“Sorry!” The teens said, their voices still raised, but not as loud.

Sirius followed his brother and Lily as they walk through the train station, going through the wall to platform 9 ¾.

Sirius was face to face with James.

“Um.” Sirius managed as he stepped back.

“Sirius-” James started, wanting to talk to the boy, reaching a hand towards him.

“Sorry Potter, but Sirius is riding with us.” Dorcas said, walking over.

“Will all of you butt out so I can talk to Sirius?” James groaned, tugging his hair angrily.

He had been trying to talk to Sirius for months, but whenever he managed to be in the same room as the other for more than 5 minutes, one of the Slytherin’s or a friend from another house dragged him away.

“We’ll probably be sharing a dorm… so we can talk then. I guess.” Sirius offered, hesitant. Was he ready for a heartfelt conversation with James? Probably not, no.

James looked at him, his eyes scanning the other boy, before he sighed. “Yeah... alright.” James muttered, walking away back into the crowd.

Of course, Sirius could find him in any crowd, so it did nothing to ease his tension.
