Prologue

"What are you doing?" Regulus laughed as he saw James running through the halls with a loose tie, only one shoe and his glasses barley on his nose.

"Stopping it" was the only answer he got before the gryffindor turned around the next corner and left his sight. The younger boy just rolled his eyes with a sighn, the marauders were probably playing a prank on the slytherins, and Potter was trying to save Regulus from being one of the targets.

◇◇◇

This was the last thing the youngest Black would have imagined to happen. He Regulus Black dreaming about the James Potter, that was absurd. He hated the older boy so much it nearly hurt. The slytherin would never admit it, but the only reason why it was like that was because of his selfish brother and not because of the boy who reminds him of the sun.

The day Sirius left him was one the worst days of his life, but what came after wasn't really better. The weeks of torture, physical as well as mentally, were too much. When he set foot into Hogwarts after these horrific holidays, he wasn't the same anymore and would never be again.

Everyone knew what happened. Everyone knew that he was the brother of this disgusting bloodtraitor. His friends didn't ask him about it, but it became clear that they wanted him to talk to them. When Evan dared to bring it up, Regulus stormed off to his dorm.

This night, he cried himself to sleep, but just before he drifted away into a world of nightmares, he came to a conclusion, James Potter took his brother away. He didn't have another explanation why Sirius would have left him with these monsters they called parents.

His older brother, who promised to be forever by his side, who said they were going to escape together, wouldn't just rurn his back on him and pretend he doesn't exist. It must have been his new "brother" Prongs how the older boy calls James, who made Sirius run away without him.

Regulus swore himself to despite the boy and never have to do something with Potter from this day on. And now, two years later, he was dreaming of him, and every time they made eye contact, his heart would stop for a second, only to continue beating twice as fast as before.

He felt like his feelings and his mind betrayed him. He couldn't possibly have fallen for this guy. He needed to get rid of that thought

"What are you doing?" asked a panicked voice, he barely registered. "Stopping it" the words leaving the younger boys mouth were nearly too quiet for the brown haired boy to hear. Confused, James wanted to ask what Regulus meant with it, but he was cut short by the Black in front of him, letting himself fall down. The last thing the boy with the glasses saw was the slytherin being pulled beneath the surface of the water.
