Chapter 3
September 1st, 1976
Regulus stepped out of the train compartment. He followed the Marauders to Hogwarts, and when they arrived at Hogwarts, he went to, as Sirius used to call them, the other ‘Slytherin Skittles’. The ‘Slytherin Skittles’ Were:
Him,
Evan and Barty, who were surely gay,
Pandora, who isn’t even a Slytherin,
and Dorcas who was kinda a psycho.
Evan saw him and immediately went to him.
‘Reg, where were you on the train?’
Regulus had to make up an excuse.
‘I was tired and didn’t know where I could sit, as I almost immediately fell asleep, so I went into the first empty compartment.’
Evan seemed to not have noticed that it was an excuse, as he accepted it, and Pandora ran to them.
‘Ev! Reg! There you are! I’ve been looking for you!’
Regulus jumped, as he hadn’t realized Pandora was coming their way.
‘Hey Panda!’ Regulus answered, still in shock.
Barty, who had been listening to them talk, suddenly spoke. ‘Pandora, you know the rules about Evan’s nickname.’
Regulus and Evan held back their laughter, as Pandora just sighed, looking at Barty in annoyance, which kinda
scared Regulus. He had known Pandora since his first year, and she was never so scary.
‘Barty, he’s my brother.’
‘Same rules apply to you Pandora. No exceptions.’
Evan facepalmed, sighing.
‘Barty, Panda can call me by my nickname.’
‘But-’
‘Bartemius Crouch Jr. I’m telling you, Pandora can call me by my nickname. There's no need for you to defend my nickname.’
‘Fine then… Pandora, you can call Evan by his nickname.’
Evan gave Barty a stern look.
‘Also apologize to Panda for tying her up in the chair almost 24/7 last year.’
Barty sighed in surrender. ‘Sorry Pandora for tying you up in your chair for almost all year last year because you called Evan by his nickname.’
Pandora chuckled.
‘All is forgiven Barty. Should’ve known you were so protective of your boyfriend who is my brother, but hey, let's forget about the tying me to the chair part last year.’
Pandora smiled at Evan, and he smiled back.
Regulus saw James Potter looking at him, worried. He gave James a reassuring smile, a gesture to tell James he was okay. Why was he so fine? No. Don’t. Regulus thought.
They all laughed and went to their dormitory, where their trunks were waiting for them.
When they arrived at their dormitory, He went to sit on his bed. Evan and Barty looked at each other, and Regulus knew perfectly well why. He knew that they thought he had
a bad holiday, because on the train there had probably been rumors about Sirius having been kicked out of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black. He hated the name Black more than he hated anything else. Especially the Black family motto, Toujours Pur. His family was a French family, so he was forced to learn french. They had also lived in France from his 5th until his 9th. They moved to Islington on his 9th birthday, which they had celebrated the day after with a Black Family Ball. He didn’t like it though. Regulus snapped out of his thoughts by Evan unpacking his trunk. So Regulus also went to unpack his trunk, and inside, he found a letter. He opened it and read it. It was written in french.
Cher Régulus.
Pourriez-vous dire à votre frère Traître au Sang que nous vous enverrons un colis contenant ses affaires et que vous le lui donnerez dès qu'il arrivera ?
Cordialement,
Orion et Walburga.
Regulus read the letter twice, translating it in his head.
‘Dear Regulus.
Could you tell your Blood-Traitor brother that we will send a package with his stuff to you, and that you'll give it to him when it arrives?
Yours sincerely,
Orion and Walburga.’
Regulus thought he must’ve read it wrong. His parents never wanted him to interact even the slightest bit with Sirius, so why bother giving him a package?
But still, he went to Sirius the next day, telling him that’s what he translated from it, and showed the letter to Sirius. Sirius seemed to have a hard time translating it, but he managed to do it.
‘I translated it the same way Reg. Tell them you told me, and that you’ll give me the package.’
Regulus considered it, and decided to tell them that, but in his own words.
Sirius spoke, and Regulus snapped out of his thoughts.
‘Love you Reg. In a brother way.’
Regulus was surprised, and struggled to form his sentence.
‘Love you too Sirius- Siri, In a Blood- I mean, brother way.’
Sirius chuckled, and he chuckled too, nervously,
‘I uhh, I should go back to my dorm. Evan is gonna start traumatizing Panda if i’m not back in time. You know, Bite dans le cul.’
Sirius chuckled.
‘You really should then, Evan and Barty shouldn't go doing Bite dans le cul to traumatize Pandora.’
‘Yeah, well, i’ll see you later then.’
‘See you later Reg!’
Regulus smiled softly and went back to his dorm, where, not very surprising, he saw Pandora traumatized.
‘Oh god…’ Regulus mumbled, and Pandora looked up. ‘Hey Reg’
‘Hey Panda. Did they-’
‘Yep.’
‘Putain d'enfer’
‘Wha-’
‘Nothing-’
‘Reg-’
Regulus and Pandora stopped talking when Evan and Barty came downstairs, laughing together. They stopped laughing when they noticed Regulus staring them down.
Evan spoke. ‘Reg… What is that stare?’ He seemed nervous, at least, that's what it looked like to Regulus.
‘You really couldn’t put up a sign at the dorm door saying: Don't enter?’
Barty chuckled nervously. ‘Uhh, about that…’
Reg gave him another hard stare.
‘You could’ve at least put up a silencing spell or close the
curtains.’
‘Right… We COULD have…’
Pandora spoke now.
‘Lets go to breakfast, or we’ll be late to class.’
So they went to Breakfast.
