What did you say?
“What did you say?” He asked, tone terse.
No one had dared speak to him like that in a long time. Especially not one of his students.
“I said, just because I’m still technically a student, doesn’t mean you can treat me poorly outside of class,” she replied indignantly, crossing her arms. “I think I’ve more than earned that right, Professor.”
While she wasn’t technically wrong, Severus Snape still had no idea how to respond. She had been the only person to come back for him that night and he still owed her a life-debt.
Their relationship was more significant than a student and her professor, but that didn’t mean that he had to like it, or be nice to her.
Yet again, Hermione Granger had turned out to be one of the most studious apprentices he ever had taken on.
She really wasn’t an insufferable-know-it-all, at least not anymore. He gave an exasperated sigh before replying.
“While that may be Miss Granger, I would hardly say it’s out of character for me to act as such.”
Stubborn, stubborn man.
