Chapter 1
It was always somewhat cold in Gotham no matter what season it was. Even if the sun deigned to peak its head out from behind the clouds and grace the Gothamites with its sunny presence it never stayed long enough. Overall, it was a typical chilly day in the cursed city where our protagonist, Jamie, was currently making his way carefully through the back alleys and abandoned blocks of Gotham. Jamie was currently making his way back to the abandoned apartments where he lived to bring in his bounty from a long day of scrounging for scraps of food. You see, Jamie had been raised in an orphanage for most of his life in Gotham and like almost all things in that cursed city its orphanages were not very kind to its inhabitants as well. Lacking funding, poor living environment, insufficient food distribution, and abuse by the staff workers. Any who saw the conditions would be unsurprised at Gotham's catastrophic crime levels and the amount of unhinged, evil, lunatics it produced. However, Jamie was different in many ways, instead of joining a local gang or some supervillains coterie of henchmen he decided to leave the orphanage early at sixteen years old, normally that would have been an extremely difficult process, but when has normal ever mattered in Gotham.
Currently Jamie was slipping through the back alleys with a bit of a pep in his step for two big reasons. Firstly, while dumpster diving behind MM Good Donuts he found an unsoiled bag full of thrown out donuts, and secondly he just turned eighteen today and he would actually be able to treat himself to something sweet. Jamie nearly made it home when he heard the sounds of a lady crying echo out. Now normally if a smart person in Gotham heard a person crying near some alleys they would most likely go the other way and pretend they heard nothing. Jamie was not an exceptionally smart person however he was also an extremely kind one. So against his better judgement Jamie called out,” Excuse me m-miss are you okay over there.” He continued walking towards the sound around the corner as the source came into view. “I heard you crying and I…” Jamie paused as the full figure of the crying woman came into view. As Jamie took in the visage of the woman he couldn’t help but be stunned by many things her crystal clear ocean blue eyes, her so unnaturally pale skin that it looked like she applied white makeup to her entire face, her plump kissable lips, black and red latex costume that clung to her shapely DD breasts and plump bubble butt, and the fact that she was Harley Fucking Quinn one of Gotham’s most infamous rouges and partner in crime of the Joker.
Jamie's brain rebooted as Harley spoke her first words to him," Huh?". “Oh uh, are you okay?” Jamie responded. Harley’s sniffles petered out as she replied, ”Yeah… Just been having a crappy day.” Harley had indeed been having a crappy night, Joker had been planning a malicious scheme to poison Gotham’s water supply(an oldy but a goody she would say) but this scheme was spoiled before it even began after Batman broke into their(really Joker’s) hideout and destroyed the chemicals. They both barely escaped without being captured and Joker was extremely mad at her. He blamed her for his hairbrained scheme going awry and kicked her out of Joker’s hideout. So indeed Harley was not having a good day.
Jamie didn’t really know how to cheer up a supervillain and did the best his flustered mind could come up with,” Well I hope it gets better, a real p-pretty lady like you shouldn’t be crying here all alone.” Harley gasped,” Me…pretty? Do ya really think so?” Jamie continued,” Well y-yeah you’d have to be out of your mind not to see that.” The beginnings of a smile appeared on Harley’s face, ”Wow, no ones called me pretty in a long time… not even Mr. J.” This reply brought a small grin to Jamie's face,” Well I hope you hear it more often. I managed to find something nice to eat today and sharing always makes food taste better so here you go.” Jamie rummaged through the plastic bag he was carrying and brought out a donut and presented it to Harley. Harley took the donut from the young man's hands, looked down and sized him up truly for the first time since they started talking.
As she looked down at him the first thing she noticed was how truly small he was in his baggy hoodie and sweatpants, while Harley could perform near superhuman feats on the regular she wasn’t superhumanly tall, only coming in at around 5ft 6in, however she towered over Jamie and in her mind she couldn’t place his height at anything more the 4ft 5in. Another characteristic she noticed was that combined with his stature he seemed to appear extremely young, almost prepubescent in stature. “Hey short stuff, how old are ya?” Jamie stuttered,” Uh I-I’m not that short, the name’s Jamie I just turned eighteen.” “Really that's bananas ya look like you should still be standing in the lunch line at middle school.” “I dropped out of high school two years ago,” Jamie replied. ‘ Well tha more ya know. By the way the names Harley. Harley Quinn.”
By this point Harley’s tears had dried and she felt quite a bit better in her mind. She thought that maybe this was life throwing her an adorable little bone to break her out of her funk. “Well Jamie, do you want to come enjoy this donut with me at my place, I’ll even cook us up some grub to go with it?” “That sounds nice," replied Jamie. As they walked to one of Harley’s hideout apartments neither of them could predict how much this encounter would change their lives.
