Home we go
Harry took a deep breath. Thats right he thought. Tonks did mentioned her Mother begain a born black. „I-Im sorry“
„Its okay dear, I know how that bellatrix was horrible, i can imagine how hard it is for you. I often wish i would i wouldn´t look like her.“ She said caring.
There was something about her way of speaking which made harry feel safer. All calmed down he just now really noticed the newborn boy on her arms and Harry was exited now „So Teddy was taken care by from you?“
Andromeda nodded. „Im glad that he spend the time with his grandmother“ his Grandmother, those words piecred through harrys chest and he felt a bit guilty. Teddy did had family left, What in his right mind pocessed him to take him away from his family? Hoe could he be so stupid?
“Thank you for taking him in. Im sure he will have a graet future and an wonderful childhood.” The woman with the dark long curly hair said.
Harry looked at her confused “Huh? What do you mean?” She sat down, Teddy still in her arms. She pointed her hand towards a chair, intiving harry to sit down. The boy nodded and did as wanted.
Ruud who was still in the room but preferd to be silent and have them talk without interrupting them now slowly and silently left the room to not invaid in their privacy.
Andromeda waited for her to close thge door as she went outside and then looked at harry “What i mean is, that it was good that you took costudy of him. You know thati look´a lot like my sister, and you are not the only one who sees that. Just imagine a childhood where you firstly have to grow up with your grandmother and secondly also everyone will be afraid for the first moment. “
Harry understood what she mean “But that isnt fair. I want him to have a family and now im taking him away from his last bit of family.”
The woman in front of harry laughed and handed harry teddy. Harry carefully took him and held him in his arms, he looked at the peacefully sleeping boy and was amazed at how deep this little creature could sleep.
Andromeda now speaked again “ You wont take him away. Do you really think i would just let you take my dear Edward and then never see him again?” she laughed. “I will ofr course keep in contact with you. Plus i think a bit of hekp with raising a newborn will be good.”
Harry smiled at her, he was genuinely happy about that.
For a while they talked and and Andromera already told harry some tricks and showed him how to feed the newborn right and what food he peferd.
Knocking on the door.
“Yes?” Harry said.
The Door swung open and standing in the doorframe was Kingsley Shacklebolt.
Confused “Hello Mr. Shacklebolt, How can we help you?” Harry asked.
“Good afternoon Mr. Potter, Mrs. Tonks. Mr. Potter, Can i talk to you for a minute?”
Harry looked at the woman who was still sitting in front of him. She nodded at him and with that harry gave teddy to her and got up.
Following the Minister of Magic, harry made up every possible scenario on why Shacklebolt would want to talk to him. Harry however did not dare to ask so he just stayed silent.
Arriving at Shacklebolts office he offerd harry a seat. Harry quickly Thanked him and sat down.
“Tea?” The older Man asked.
“Oh, no, Thank you.” harry responded and in the room an awkward and pressing atmosphere spread out.
“So, Harry…” Shacklebolt started. “I wanted to ask you, would you like to start your training to become an Auror here? I heard that you wanted to become one, if that’s still to your liking. I’m sure you’d also make an excellent Quidditch player.”
Harry was surprised by this. “Huh? Oh—no, I still want to become an Auror, but why am I being asked about this?”
Shacklebolt sighed. “Well, you see, Harry… You’re a very talented and smart young man. You have experience in fighting and dueling. You’ve already saved the wizarding world, and it would be a shame to let that talent go to waste.”
“But I didn’t manage that alone! If it wasn’t for my friends and everyone else, I would have never been able to stop Voldemort!” Harry protested.
“I know that, Harry, and everyone will get the chance to become an Auror if they’re qualified. But I would like you to start earlier, if you’d be okay with that.”
Harry raised an eyebrow. “Why’s that?”
The room was filled with silence for what felt like an eternity for Harry, and oh boy, who knew silence could be so loud?
“Well, you see, the Death Eaters who have been captured… they… How do I say this? Have been acting strangely. They mumble to themselves, but they say their words out of order. Some of them scratch their skin off their arms, and others just repeat, ‘He will live on in us’ over and over again. And no one can figure out why.”
Harry’s eyes grew wider.
“And also, there are many Death Eaters still out there, hiding and running away from us. We don’t know how many there are, since many Death Eaters are still living among us, hiding the fact they’re Death Eaters. We, of course, keep an eye on everyone suspicious, but you can never be sure where they’re hiding. Plus, we don’t know if these Death Eaters are also showing signs of unusual behavior.”
“I’m sorry, but this doesn’t explain why I’m being chosen to start the Auror training sooner than everyone else,” Harry said, his voice clearly tense from the situation.
“Harry, you are their enemy. The one who defeated their leader. You are their biggest prey. We, I, fear that because of that, they will fixate on you. Proper early training to get you more skilled has benefits for you as well, especially now that you’ve taken in young Lupin. If the Death Eaters find out about that, they will do everything they can to get to him as the key to get to you. You need to be trained.”
Harry’s eyes filled with anger and rage as soon as the stone hit. Kingsley Shacklebolt was completely right. He needed to protect Teddy now too. And he couldn’t live with knowing that there were still Death Eaters out there who could cause damage to innocent wizards and witches, and possibly muggles, considering how far they could go.
“When can I start?” Harry asked seriously.
“The fastest we can do is two weeks.”
“That would be alright. I will be there. Please send me an owl with all the information I need before starting. I think I have to leave now.” With that, Harry got up. He was so filled with anger that he didn’t even let the minister say anything before storming out, heading back to the room where Teddy and his grandmother were waiting for him.
Before he entered the room, though, Harry took some time to calm down. It just made him so mad that after so many people had died because of Voldemort, his followers were still on the run and didn’t feel guilty about it.
As Harry entered the room, he could hear some babbling from Teddy, which Harry honestly found very adorable. “I’m sorry it took so long.”
“Don’t worry,” Andromeda said, handing Teddy to Harry, who was soon drooling over his arm.
“I’m very sorry to cut off our talk like this, but it’s getting pretty late—” Harry said.
“That’s alright. I’ll send you an owl very soon. It was very nice to meet you. Take care of yourselves.” She smiled at him in such a pure and kind way that Harry felt crazy thinking about the panic he had felt when he saw her just a few hours ago.
“It was a pleasure for me too. I’m already excited to hear from you, and I’m sure Teddy is too.”
And just like that, they said their goodbyes, and Harry was finally on his way home. This way home was different, though—this time he wasn’t alone. He had Teddy, and, god, was he ready to raise him.
